  1. So for those that use a single club vs multiple, do you guys have different grinds or bounce angles on your wedges? For me, all three of my wedges have different grinds and bounce angles. I do that because I do find a difference on a really heavy or tight lie. Or if I need a fuller swing I know my 52* or 56* have a sole that will lead to more consistent shots than my 60*. When I was using a 54-58 combo both of my wedges were very close in bounce and had the same grind. At that time I basically always used the 58*
  2. I used to rely heavily on my LW when I had a 54-58 setup. I would use it probably 10 times more frequently than my 54. After realizing a weakness in my game I now use my GW first, SW second, and LW only if I have to. I currently use 52, 56, and 60 degree wedges. I really love the way ball reacts with the 52* wedge. If I don’t need to go up and stop it super quickly, I’ll use that. If the 52 seems like not a good fit…. Need to get up over a bunker, need to get up a steep embankment, or some reason that I need more height, I’ll use the 56. That also includes some thicker rough. If I really need a specialty shot, bunker play, deep thick rough, flop shot, etc. That’s where I’ll use the 60*. I almost never take a full or even 3/4 swing with it. I’m learning that I get much better results when I use this process to select my shorter shots.
  3. Hell Yeah! I loved my G30. I also played that. Was the first driver I was ever fit for. Played it up until the beginning of last year.
  4. @Brian A and @jlukes Last year I was sitting there waiting for the e-mail and text notifications… finally getting one… then realizing at delivery it was only PART of the order! I was sitting there looking at the tracking going wow they got it all in one box? So you might have 3 or 4 “longest waits in golf” to go through. For all the testers, have you needed to make any changes to your orders? Or does it seem like the shafts/grips/heads you all ordered are going to be available? Cant wait for the competition to get rolling!
  5. That would be really cool. I’m going to start planting the seed with my Mrs. and @Lacassem’s old lady as well. We’ll just need to convince them that its some sort of beach trip or scouting trip for when we inevitably move south. 2022 should give me enough time to get the final approval! It would be cool to do a meet and greet with some of the HQ guys, testers, and forum members. As the guy who does the tee-time reservations for our annual NH trip I get that its a lot of work and can be a pain to get people to commit, but let’s make it happen!
  6. So I should take it as a good sign that so many of my players are out this week right? Because surely they’re all working on prep for the US Open? As of right now I only got Brooksy going. Also: Anyone else dying to see a Brooks/Bryson final pairing on a Sunday? Maybe for the Open? We’d get a ton of coverage of them hopefully they’d be close a lot haha
  7. The TR-20 was my other top option with the Epic Max LS when I did the True Golf Fit the other day…. I guess I’ll find out later this week when I go swing them! Good to see you’r still gaming it. Holding up well? Did you get into a Vizard shaft? I can’t remember. Any comments on them or the driver since your review?
  8. Sorry, no outside food or beverage allowed. And we will not full personal containers. It’s a liability issue.
  9. Load it in the truck. I'll hire you to cut mine. All the Coors Banquet you can drink! *"All the Coors Banquet you can drink!" offer is during the mowing time period only. One per customer, per visit to the refrigerator. If Coors Banquet is unavailable we reserve the right to substitute with any other beverage including but not limited to Truly, White Claw, Pure unfiltered H20.
  10. Ouch. I don’t remember the last time I happened to be watching one that went long… but usually we see the whole thing and join the next broadcast “already in progress”
  11. Haha yes. Those approach shots and recovery shots are something special. I saw Marc Leishman hit a shot out of the trees between holes after having to bring a rules official over and call a penalty on himself that sounded so pure and solid off of leaves I think I just said “whoa.” One thing I have liked lately with the broadcast is the “playing through” commercials where we still see action on the course while giving sponsors time to air some ads.
  12. I’m with you there!! First time I went to TPC Boston to watch them play I realized just how different it really is. you walk in on the 9th hole around where a bunch of players leave their tee shots. First one we watched was a big ole snap hook that went into the woods and smashed off a tree. we stayed by that spot for a while and saw about half good shots and half bad shots. It would be cool to see more shots and groups. Honestly I think the Masters does it great, with their featured groups, hole grouping coverage, and range coverage. But I get that not every event can do that.
  13. Great work! Always nice to knock out a new PB!
  14. Shot a +5 38 today with Jackson that SHOULD have been much better. technically 3/5 fairways and 3/9 greens. One of those missed fairways was on a short par 4 where my 5 wood was pin right, but left of the green (244 yards). One was a tremendous topped hybrid that went… well not very far. I had some super crisp swings and some reallllly bad swings. I also has a bad day putting, even though that stats look fine (8 two putts and 1 one putt. I left 4 of my first putts within inches of the cup, including an infuriating eagle attempt on the lone par 5 from about 12 feet. The second shot was my shot of the day. The Arccos shot below doesn’t show it well but the approach shot needed to be high enough to get over some trees and landed and stopped 12 feet right of the cup. I’m starting to feel really good about my chipping. Had two chips that were easy tap ins and 3 others that were VERY marketable par saves if I had putted better. Jackson had a blast, and tried to play some more holes from the forward tees. But he was very tired and hot by the end. He’s enjoying the new clubs, but still getting used to them. Oh and that is a new Puma hat that he has on there too. Seems he likes Orange like his dad does too. Haha

    A trio

    Happy Birthday all!
  16. sounds like you’ll be testing the sturdiness and durability of that table very soon. My workaround on the upside down photo bug has been to take a screen shot of the photo on my phone. It’s worked every time so far. @GolfSpy_THV is there a bug fix in for this issue yet? Figure you might know if there is one.
  17. Assuming you mean happier for us spectators and not for the competitors! After all the flak I got last year just because I happened to grow up in the greatest era of Boston Sports History we better not be going soft on these guys. Plus we need to know how the new equipment performs under the pressure of tens of thousands of spies watchful eyes. Who is going to crack under the pressure? *cough* #teamyags *cough* And who will rise to the top to be crowned the new champ?! Yeah… this summer is going to be fun to follow along. #TeamCHAD FTW! I do hope we have some good member challenges this year. That was a lot of fun last year. @jlukes you’re the top target on my list! (That’s sort of a compliment.. I think)
  18. That's not bad at all... almost not long enough to be temped by other new shiny things! haha
  19. Really cool to see the results of a good fitting. Glad you saw such great results in the fit and I look forward to your "how'd you play" posts with some on course updates! Any idea on lead time before you'll get yours? I know the industry is all over the place for that.
  20. Oh good! Now I know we have the same “preferred” shot shape as well! Haha Sad to see the Callaway not match up well for you, but we thank you for giving it a try. I agree with you that there are some brands/designs that just do not suit my eye or feel and I never hit well with them.
  21. @Lacassem Congrats man! Maybe you can include a new putter along with the new bag...
  22. I stand corrected then, didn't see that he was using it. But I still don't believe it's an advantage and needs to banned. It's a different skill to putt like that. As others have mentioned, it's not something you just pick up and instantly becoming a pro at putting.
  23. Hey Cody, not sure if you've commented on this or not yet. I know you're getting along well with the 699's. Didn't know if you've commented about the differences you feel between a player's cavity like that versus your experience with the Speedzone irons last year? I have to think that the lofts weren't too far apart, maybe a bit in the longer irons, but they are obviously very different in construction. For me the player's cavity design has been eye-opening. They're definitely more forgiving then they let on from how they look in the bag.
  24. So then why isn't he doing it? Sorry I don't believe him. If he thought it was an advantage for him, he would do it too since it's allowed within the rules of golf.
