  1. Tale of two nines today. Shot 49 on the front nine with 8 penalty strokes. Shot 38 on the back. Golf!
  2. @blackngold_blood if you are selected for CCC5 I will trade you Hovland and Rahm to give me your spot.
  3. I also have not received one. Feeling left out.
  4. The problem with the ridiculous counter is it doesn’t help anyone understand what you’d actually accept. Heck, some people might think the ridiculous counter isn’t ridiculous but fair value in their eyes.
  5. I would say that if you decide to get another fitting you want to make sure you're getting a lot of data, asking a TON of questions, and giving input. He may have been pushing you towards a GI iron because your dispersion was all over the place, and the T200s would be harder to control. Hard to know without getting clarification. I would imagine some people are perfectly happy to go in, get handed clubs, hit them, say cool and walk out with them without a second thought. If you are someone who wants to dig into the data and be a bit more of a club junkie and really know your stuff, I would recommend going somewhere like club champion where you know you are working with a trained fitter. Just know they are 100% going to try and fit you into some silly upcharge shaft combinations. Is your tempo slow and smooth, or fast and aggressive? If you are a smooth swinger, than the light shaft is likely a good fit.
  6. I spend most of my time reigning in high school golfers. It’s so much easier helping them pick their spots when they truly believe they can make any shot at any time. You can tell they’ve always just been allowed to play, which is awesome.
  7. I think the safe pick is JT, but would love to see Hovland get it done. Is this the week Scheffler finally gets the first tour win? Does Corey Conners break through? Should be a fun week!
  8. I was bummed to see the CC5 bag doesn't come with their vessel bag this year, but the Ultralight. Not a knock on cobra bags, I'm sure they're amazing. Vessel just seem like really premium products (for a premium price point). I love the 14 way divider, I find it annoying trying to get the club in when the grips keep catching on one another in 4-6 way bags. If I didn't already have a PING hoofer, I would be looking around for a vessel on a discount!
  9. I'm very intrigued to see what the metric will be for this challenge. It is fun not knowing, but then once my round is in I really want to know!
  10. Another vote for wedges. You hit them far more often than driver. Wedges should be the most frequently replaced clubs in your bag. I also second the advice of getting fitted. Shaft technology for wedges has come a long way recently. Don't just grab the stock wedges off the rack and take them to the course!
  11. It feels like all my golfers ever want to practice at the range is the high flop and the stinger. They like seeing if they can nail the range signs with stingers, and if they can flop the ball straight up in the air and get it to land back on the range mat. To their credit, one kid did have to hit a ridiculous flop over a tree to get up and down and the bugger pulled it off. Then again, if he practiced the old fashioned straight shot he might get more greens...
  12. It’s definitely a fun format to tune in for, we should see if there’s some sort of bracket challenge we can do in the future to keep us from being fantasy deprived on this week. Excited who I have on the team coming into the homestretch, though it’s hard not to feel like I’ve over tinkered or need to make another move or two to bring home the bacon. Rahm/Hovland/Scheffler is a strong 3 with all of them having good seasons, if Casey and Scott can muster up some major performances I’ll be in good shape. The key may be Wolff. Kid is so talented, I have to think he’s going to snap out of it. Though he managed to sink the Morikawa partner up this past week so who knows.
  13. Mine used to flare up when I started playing 2-3 times per week. I wore a compression brace and that would help on the course. Over time the muscles got stronger and it doesn’t flare up as often anymore.
  14. I’ve been trying to find an EV the past year or so. Very few pass the golf club test, nevermind two sets of clubs. Hoping some new stuff comes out that will fit a couple bags.
  15. Oh he’s still good. Crap for him. I’d absolutely roster the heck out of him.
  16. I mean I want him, just not at a “Rory Freaking McIlroy” pricetag haha. He’s proven he’s not that guy so far this year. To @Apolloshowlpoint, he’s actually not a top ten guy anymore either. Extremely talented and could pop at any moment. Could also end up in a Spieth spiral. Golf!
  17. This showed up in my Facebook feed this morning... I remember there being a bag tag thread, but couldn’t find it. If anyone does please connect the two! @tony@CIC I remember you being part of the thread. It is a keychain, but could work as a bag tag of sorts! Here is the link to the Facebook store. https://m.facebook.com/commerce/products/4039814166069186/?rt=54&referral_code=shops_pdp_share&marketplace_referral_story_type=shop_pdp_share_deep_link&refsrc=https%3A%2F%2Fm.facebook.com%2Fmarketplace%2Fshops%2Fitem%2F4039814166069186%2F&_rdr
  18. Fortunate to play Spanish Hills Club in SoCal today. Irons were working, and I ended up with an 83. Low round since back surgery, felt good to make some shots out there today!
  19. Anyone else feel like @xOldBenKenobiX needs to apply to be a content hunter?
  20. You definitely cannot replace the batteries on the sensors. I purchased the link mainly for the benefit of being able to mark where the flag was easily, and so I can “attend” meetings from the comfort of the golf course. I’ve gotten used to having my phone in my pocket, so that was never really an issue for me. I find that the link does not work as well at picking up shots as the phone does. I’ll typically check my phone every few holes to make sure everything was picked up. Even with the phone I’ve always had to make some adjustments around the greens. If she has a smart watch, that’s always a way to see if an edit is needed. You can run the arccos app on the watch for gps benefit and since it isn’t tracking shots it doesn’t drain the battery. You’ll be able to look to see if it had the correct number of shots as you go. You can always adjust after the round as well. If you keep a paper score, most people can remember where their misses and whatnot were during the round, especially on a frequently played course. By no means is this ideal. Unfortunately, the recognition of shots is never 100% accurate. I think it’s worthwhile for the data, but I’m on a golf forum at 6 am so I think that about says everything haha.
  21. Couldn’t get to the top, finished fourth. Congrats @Undershooter!
