  1. Derek @EasyPutter, Thank you for your Service!! I like your write-up on walking and push carts. Walking 9 or 18 holes is the way to go for me. I used to carry my stand bag until I fell, while carrying my bag and injuring my right shoulder. That was the sign to use a push cart & it does beat carrying the bag, although I liked the exercise of carrying a bag. My first pushcart was a Dicks Sporting Goods TourTrek, 3 wheel pushcart. it wasn't bad, the only issue is service. There is no service phone number to call & forget about finding parts for the cart when something breaks, even a wheel. After the TourTrek broke, I knew I wasn't going to purchase the same brand again! A couple of my golf buddies, who I walk with during the week, have BagBoys QuadXL's pushcarts. Easy to push. BagBoys has replacement parts available & good accessories. So I purchased a QuadXL. One issue developing with the BagBoy QuadXL, the back wheels are starting to sag over time, unlike the Clickgear or Sun Mountain carts. I've had this cart since 2021 and getting great use out of it. Another negative, my carry bag doesn't always fit right and it drives me nuts. Cart bags fit fine on the cart but I prefer using a stand bag. Accessories available are cool - such as the hand warmer (mittens). Great for the Winter, a must! I like the bag/pouch under the tray. Here's a little picky item I don't like on the tray. The scorecard holder. It chews up the scorecard & standard golf course pencils get chewed up. the impressive thing about the QuadXL is how it folds up and how light it is to carry. That's impressive. One of my fellow walkers has a 3-wheeled Clickgear and he loves it. The other day with the threat of rain, he walked up to the first tee, with RainTek Golf Bag Cover he purchased on the Clickgear site. What a cool accessory & much better than using an umbrella. The RainTek easily covers the entire bag , including the clubs. The top section which covers the clubs, lifts back to remove or replace a club. The Golf Bag Cover keeps the entire bag dry. It's cool & easily installed. For my next push cart, I will not be purchasing a Bagboy quad, because of the sagging of the back tires. I will strongly consider a 3 wheeled & look at other brands. I may even go electric. However, as a retirement gift, my wife told me I must choose between new irons or an electric cart. (New irons is winning )!
  2. I enjoy the early morning rounds & walking. As Jason stated, the dew on the grounds, being the first out & like @Tom the Golf Nut also stated test equipment or working on the swing with no interruptions. I used to be a member at a club where the pro would allow me to walk and tee off before they opened at 6:30 am. I'd be the first one out, see some of the maintenance guys, then check in at the turn, since the 9th hole came back to the clubhouse. At the current club, there are 4 to 6 players who are the first off every morning (either 4 or 2 groups of 3's) & we all walk. It's great. No one in front, we usually leave the groups teeing off after us in the dust, never seeing them after the 2nd hole. Greens are freshly mowed, dew setting back on the greens. Sometimes, as was the case this morning, they punched & lightly sanded the greens on the back 9, so we did catch them watering the greens. We're normally done playing 18 holes in 3 to 3:20 mins. I'm home by 11am & start working regular job. Life is good!
  3. @MattWillGolf good to hear your wife's recovery is progressing! Thoughts & Prayers to you both for a speedy recovery!
  4. @Jean D This past week speaking with a golf pro at a CC I was playing with a member, stated the Payntr shoes can take 10-12 business days to ship from when ordered. Don’t know if this helps.
  5. Good Sunday Morning & Happy Easter Spies! A brisk Central Florida morning 55 degrees. Starting 2nd cup of espresso, Ranger duties this morning. Shouldn’t be too busy, so maybe a round of golf today. Hmmm. Happy Easter to you all and your families! Stay warm & Hit’em straight! ️
  6. @StrokerAce good video. Mo Norman could stripe the ball. My golf buddy told a funny story about Mo Norman this past Tuesday. Norman is at the range and sees this young man hitting balls at range. The guy had a fast swing, racing through the bucket and hitting ball all over the place. Norman saw enough. He briskly walked up to the young man and said: Son, why are you in a hurry to hit bad shots! what a character & spot on!
  7. A GOOD FRIDAY Morning Spies! It’s a brisk 62 degrees & sunny Central Florida morning! A beautiful day! Finishing 2nd cup of espresso. No golf today, Ranger duties today. I may hit the range later this afternoon! Good Forum call yesterday, thank you Jamie! Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm and Hit’em straight ️!
  8. @BreakfastBall15 the "Think & Play Box" are exactly what impacted me. For whatever reason, that simple phrase was a game changer! I still use that method, especially when I find myself grinding. I take a step back and remind myself of the "Boxes". Boom, the stinkin thinkin goes away!! Great minds think alike!
  9. Welcome & Good Luck on your quest @Karls0991! Like your "Tactics" Goals with your journey to break 80 & get down to a 9.0 handicap!! Love your Passion and the fact you have a plan. I will say this about TheStack System, it has helped me! As for TheStack putting, I've only done two putting sessions. Finding a good instructor really helped me to reduce my handicap from an 18 to a 12 (seemed to drop quick), to a 7 (didn't drop as fast) then to a 3 handicap (that took some time & patience & where my short game got really good around the greens). The hard part was going from a 3 to 1 handicap, especially when your golf coach decides to retire! LOL. During the process of lowering my handicap, two important things I learned were course management & patience. I'm not Tiger, who can hit a 6 iron from 210yds out of a bunker over trees & over water. I'll look to hit it to the 100yd marker & try to save par or bogey & move to the next hole. Learn to take your medicine (that's patience). While par is the quest for every hole, maybe playing for bogey may be smarter & taking trouble & high score out of play. Give yourself a chance to save Par because you had patience & not try the Tiger or JT shot with trouble all around. The Short Game is like 60% of the game, glad that is part of your work. You may be able to drive it 300+yds, great, but getting up & down for birdie or par after missing greens goes a long way into shaving strokes off your score. Great suggestion from @Samuel09152 of Dan Grieve. Michelson also has a short game video: Michelson Chipping 101 which is very good. Lastly, the mental approach is important. Having a routine is important. One book I really like for mental game, which really helped me to develop a good routine & thought process on the course: "Every Shot Must Have a Purpose" by Pia Nilsson & Lynn Marriott. They were Anika Sorenstam's instructors. (LOL, I don't get residuals for plugging the book. Some in the Forum may think so ) Good luck @Karls0991 it will be fun to watch your progress!!! Go for it!!
  10. Great article @GolfSpy AFG! I never thought about cold plunging. After reading your article Tiger, JT & other golfers doing it, it's not just for football players. Cold plunging reminds me of the movie Vacation :
  11. Happy Birthday @CFreddie & @Preeway! Have a Great Day gents!
  12. @Bobbers good call on Carbite. It triggered me to search through my golf bucket. Several years ago I found a Carbite blade putter head. Someone had broken the shaft off. I had found the putter head in the woods while ball hawking. I kept the putter to see if it could be reshafted at some point.
  13. Good Thursday Morning Spies! Cloudy with threat of rain this Central Florida Morning. 71 degrees for 7:14am tee time. Starting to get light earlier. Walking 18 holes then off to work! Working on iron game this morning , Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay Warm and Hit’em straight ️️
  14. Great advice @Rob Person!! Tell them to put their egos in their back pocket with their glove!
  15. @GregGarner have you used TheStack app for putting? The issue I have with the putter app, it freezes up. I end up finishing the circuit on my own. I've logged completely out of the app. Not logged back in nor restarted my phone to see if that remedied the issue with the app.
  16. Good Wednesday Morning Spies! Beautiful Central Florida Morning. 68 degrees for 7:20am tee time. Walking 18 holes before dentist Appointment! My dentist doesn’t give out golf balls & tees @tdc1 ! Heres a picture of the 18th green from the 3 cart path at Ventura CC Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm & Hit’em straight ️️
  17. Welcome @Mark S. Gillis!! You're in good Golf Fanatic company!!
  18. Wow, I've not snapped any of the Martini Tees. Now that you say that, I do find broken Martini Tees during my Ranger Duties. I must not be generating the swing speed you generate. It's back to the gym for me!
  19. Congratulations Testers!! Good looking irons!!
