  1. I can't see it, but I feel like any one of us could have done better with that chip than BD did.
  2. Sorry, I just saw this. Everything is gone except the shafts from the 3, 5, and 7 woods and the two extra driver shafts.
  3. Definitely nothing wrong with the 7, 9, and maybe even 11 wood route. I have played 7 and 9 woods often over the years.
  4. I'm thinking about a whole new bag. Finally sold all my old one (except the putter). The golfer's elbow is feeling much better and I was hoping to be able to start making some swings in the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I've triggered my pinched nerve in my neck/shoulder and it doesn't look like I'll be swinging any time soon. Still holding out hope for a fitting in late September and maybe new clubs in October in time for a few rounds in November.
  5. It is not. It's the black/green. I can put s pic up later.
  6. 3wd and 7wd have a first bid on eBay now so they're no longer available. The shafts for the 3, 5, and 7 woods are still available along with the two driver shafts that didn't sell with the head. Pretty soon, I'll get to start shopping for replacements! That's gonna be the fun part.
  7. I should clarify, this isn't a joke per se. It's based on a true story. Real life events. No kiddin'...
  8. A man was walking along a Florida beach and stumbled across an old lamp. He picked it up and rubbed it, and out popped a genie. The genie said, "OK, You released me from the lamp, blah blah blah. This is the fourth time this month, and I'm getting a little sick of these wishes so you can forget about three... You only get one wish!" The man sat, and thought about it for a while and said, "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I'm scared to fly, and I get very seasick. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over there to visit?" The genie laughed and said, "That's impossible!!! Think of the logistics of that! How would the supports ever reach the bottom of the Pacific? Think of how much concrete -- how much steel!! No, think of another wish." The man said, "OK, I'll try to think of a really good wish." Finally, he said, "I've been married and divorced four times. My wives always said that I don't care and that I'm insensitive. So, I wish that I could understand women, know how they feel inside, and what they're thinking when they give me the silent treatment. Know why they're crying, know what they really want when they say "nothing,", know how to make them truly happy." The genie said, "Do you want that bridge to be two lanes or four?"
  9. Are the Vice balls really DTC anymore? Didn't I just see them in Walmart?
  10. I'm sure a couple of driver shafts with TM adapters. Right of the top of my head, I have a UST 6F4 and a PX HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.0, 60g. Maybe others.
  11. I played a Callaway Epic Flash 7wd with a PX HZRDUS Black 85g, 6.5 (x flex) Tour Issue only shaft for a while. Loved it. It's up for sale, but sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't just keep it. I could sell my 3wd and 5wd and get a new 4wd to replace them both. As for the original question, from 200y out in the rough, I'd probably take 5wd. From 170y out, I might take 7wd. There are really too many variables. If the rough is short, but enough to create a flyer, then I'd likely take less club, but if it's thick enough to impede movement of the club through it, then I might just hack it out with a wedge. Also, depends on where the pin is on the green. If it's 170y away, but in the front, then I'd take a club that would likely go long. If it's in the back, then I'd be happy with a little short.
  12. I'm glad to see that I'm not smokin' crack. I was just about to give in and build a set of irons. I was gonna make the PW an LL flex, the 9i an L flex, the 8 iron an A flex, the 7 iron an R flex, the 6 iron an S flex, the 5 iron an X flex, and the 4 iron a XX flex. Figure I'd have to make my driver a 5X, the 3wd a 4X, and the 5wd a 3X flex to keep things "right".
  13. Dude, I said no hard feelings. You can let it go. You're not the first person I've see refuse to back up their assertions. Have a great day.
  14. Driver is gone now with the HZRDUS Smoke Black 6.5 shaft. The other two driver shafts are still available. Make me some offers!
  15. First, what does that have to do with my comment whatsoever? Second, I'm not old enough to have followed Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, or Jack Nicklaus, but I can be 100% certain, Tiger was never the longest hitter on Tour. Maybe he outdrove a few guys here and there and maybe he led a tournament once or twice, but he never led in driving distance for a season.
  16. It's cool if you don't wanna stick around and explain why that theory doesn't work in practice. No hard feelings. I just don't think many would do well with a bag where each club was stiffer than the next shorter club. It just doesn't make any sense.
  17. If this were true and every club was supposed to be stiffer than the next shorter club, we'd all end up with 3x, 4x, etc. drivers and/or L or LL flex wedges.
  18. All that and you still didn't answer the only question I asked. "If my driver should have a stiffer shaft than my 3wd (driver is/was 2.5" longer than the 3wd), then should my 4i also have a stiffer shaft than my 9i since it's longer (~2.5" longer, too)? "
  19. I get what you're saying, but I think the rule of thumb for the driver is to hit the softest shaft you can control. With my fairway woods, I'm more worried about control than all out distance. Heck, even when I was playing an X in the driver, it was a Smoke Black 60g, 6.5 and compared to the Black 85g, 6.5 in my faiways, it was a wet noodle. Haha... To disprove the "longer club calls for a stiffer shaft", I present... If my driver should have a stiffer shaft than my 3wd (driver is/was 2.5" longer than the 3wd), then should my 4i also have a stiffer shaft than my 9i since it's longer (~2.5" longer, too)? I doubt many would go with that.
  20. Haha... yeah, that might help. Anyway, looks like you've got a stable to choose from there to get you going. I was gonna see if I had something I could send your way to better fit you, but with an L, an X, and an S, you've got about all the bases covered.
  21. Welcome to the game. That's a good read. Tell us a little about your driver that you think is too soft. I might have something to help you out.
  22. Curious as to how you can conclude that I'm not maximizing my game. I refute the hard and fast rule that clubs should (must?) get stiffer as they get longer.
  23. Unless those shafts are from the sa.e manufacturer, that likely doesn't mean much. There's no standardization of shaft flexes in the industry. That being said, there's nothing wrong with going softer as you go longer. I prefer a softer driver than fairway wood. I played Stiff driver and XS fairways for the past few months.
  24. I have asked a question before of people... "How do you derive joy from the game of golf?" For some it's score, plain and simple. For some, it's improving their handicap. For some, it's fairways and greens. For some, it's just being out in nature and enjoying the walk. For other's still, it's the chase of new (to them) equipment. We all enjoy this game in different ways. I guess as long as he's not hurting anyone and not doing anything illegal, leave him be.
  25. Reasonable offers accepted. I'm sure there's gotta be some interest in some of this. Definitely willing to split this stuff up, too.
