KrudlerAce
Hello, I'm looking at updating my current driver which has served me well. I use the Cobra BIO Cell 9.5 degrees. Thinking about upgrading to the newer Cobra King LTD Pro Driver which has a lot of high recommendations online. Can anyone advise if they have used or use the new Cobra and what was their thoughts good and bad? Thanks Mizuno MP-25 irons, R/H, N.S. Thinking about upgrading to the newer Cobra King LTD Pro Driver which has a lot of high recommendations online. Can anyone advise if they have used or use the new Cobra and what was their thoughts good and bad? Thanks You might try posting this under the "Golf talk" 19th hole section- there are plenty of guys that should be able to help you there. I tried the cobra King and Pro and the Fly Z+, I ended up going with the Fly Z+ because it worked better for me than the King, and I liked the white head (Not to mention lower price). I did not try the F6 or F6+ drivers. I do know that the Cobra king did better on driver swings that had a negative attack angle vs the Fly Z, but I have a positive AOA so it didn't factor into my decision. I hope you ahve the chance to hit it, preferrably somewhere outside, where you can watch the ball flight and decide for yourself. hckymeyer
I had both the standard King LTD and F6+, neither ended up being a great fit for me. The F6+ was much better for me, but in the end neither was the best fit for me. Key part of all that is it's very hard to recommend or fit someone over the internet. If you aren't in a hurry I would recommend waiting a little bit until the Most Wanted Driver results come out and reading those reviews. It should be fairly comprehensive and with a wide range of abilities. Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. Aotearoa_Brad
Hey Krudler, I game the Bio Cell (10.5) and tested out both the King LTD and the F6 recently. My preference between the two was the King LTD, but not enough to warrant the out of pocket spend over staying with the Bio Cell. As Hcky states, hard to suggest one will be better for you than another. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
evershady
I won the My Golf Spy newsletter give away and they sent me King LTD Pro. I play it at 7.5 fade and it works great for me.The second one works great I blew out the first less than 50 swings in. I already used a low spin Ping Anser before but this one just works better for me. Today for example I hit two monsters one aided by wind on a shorter par 5 left me with 108 to the pin and one I hit a draw into the cross wind had about 40 yards to the pin on a 360 par 4. But where I see the biggest advantage is tee shot directly into a strong wind I used to get big balloons and lost tons of distance even when trying to punch the LTD just cuts straight through. It works great for me, but demoing before laying down big money is always the best option. apprenti23
i am gaming a Cobra driver for the first time since Norman was the world number one! My only knock on the King driver is that it doesn't come in different color combos like the F6 series clubs. Being that I am usually someone who fights the lefts, I play the LTD Pro model- only difference is the adapter settings go lower with Fade bias on the Pro where the std LTD goes higher with draw bias settings. I have two rounds in this season (and the last seven months 🙈) but this thing has been awesome! I originally played it at 8.5* FADE but it's super anti left with the shaft I currently play. The 8.5* regular setting is awesome for me. It's not leaps and bounds longer than anything I've played in the past. However, I didn't miss a fairway by more than three steps into the rough once in 12 tee shots last Sunday. I did hit the F6+ and F6 but saw better launch and spin numbers for me (lower) along with an impeccable feel for the LTD. sure I can put hot melt in anything to make it feel like the LTD but once it's in there, it doesn't come out! Oh the F6+ comes in a pro model too if you think you need less loft or anti left combinations. It is also one of the heavier stock heads on the market, and I have always played a heavier Driver head. Very glad all OEMs are doing this now.
mdumble21
Whilst I haven't tried the LTD driver, I have tried the F6 driver. I found that it had a small sweet spot, which made it hard to hit consistently to the length that I hit my current driver. It's not a driver for everyone, so I would advise trying before you buy. fozcycle
I gamed the Bio Cell for two years, then tried the Fly Z+ for a month and now am the proud owner of the Cobra King LTD. One of the things I like is that my shaft in the Bio Cell is now my shaft in the Cobra king LTD......the Paderson Kinetix. Cobra lets you continue with a shaft by allowing the adapter to work forward, from Bio Cell to Cobra King.
