DannyDips
I just bought my second purchase based on MGS testing and reviews (first was a G400 fitting from my local Ping pro). I bought a Tommy Armour Impact #3 off eBay based on the positive reviews and wanting something different to try at a reasonable price. After getting it this week I noticed the black paint on the shaft seems to be bubbling in places. Curious if anyone has experienced this and if there is a solution? Sanding/Repainting? Also probably gonna play around with paint filling the alignment line after I regrip and lengthen it 3” (originally 31.5” didn’t know that until after purchase) Any tips or advice would be appreciated. TSauer
For the paint fill with the alignment, Testors is my go to product. You can also purchase paint pens that work pretty well too. I posted a thread about my wedge makeover that I can link you if you want. I'm not sure which route to go with the shaft. If it were me, I would strip it all and start over, so it all matches. You may also be able to just buy a black shaft and reshaft it. hckymeyer
You could always go with heat shrink tubing for the shaft... This is super awesome! I regripped the putter this weekend and saw some more blemishes on the shaft under the grip after lengthening it. Next time I regrip this club I might add the heat shrink tubing. After reading the thread I didn't notice, what do you use to heat the shrink tubing? Kor.A.Door
I will add to be careful with the heat gun, you can “burn” the tubing and cause it to bubble if you leave the heat on it just a little bit too long Lefties are always in their Right Mind
hckymeyer
Yup, what they said. I used the heat gun, just move it back and forth and I didn't have any issues with burning. You just don't want to sit it on one spot and walk away. Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. I was having issues getting one spot and I left the heat on it for a couple seconds and it bubbled up, I just took it off, and put a new piece on it.
