Bourbon_Soaked
I've been in putter hell. My wife got me the Kirkland putter for Christmas. I couldn't drain.... something hard to drain, let alone a putt. Got the weights, things got worse. I rehomed it and it is living a happy life with someone who appreciates it. I went back to my old Nike Method and things went back to normal. Today I swung by the ole maple Hill golf pro shop and spent an hour or more ( it could have been a day I blacked out) just trying out high MOI putters. I knew going in I like the look and feel of the Odyssey two ball ten with the line. I tried out a bunch. I like the wingman from tour edge, and the Wilson's were really a surprisingly great feel. The TM22 was dope, and the Infinite L was awesome but I thought it looks dumb. I do want to try out one of the infinite Buckingham putters that MGS really liked. Then I went on to the Evnrolls and reallllllly liked the EV12. That's when I made the mistake. I had never even held one but now I get the Scotty Cameron hype. The Phantom 9.5 just feels so good. It's balanced so perfectly. It's like it knows the distance of the hole. Just lift and let flow. It's going to haunt my sleep. Needless to say I ran away with a new glove and went and bought cigars. And I will enjoy them.....and every putt missed I will be thinking about this afternoon. Until I breakdown and get it and realize that even the best putter can't read the damn green. IMO, Don't buy into the hype. while they are nice putters, they are no better than many other putters out there. As you learned with the kirkland you are better off finding something that works for your stroke; Cameron's don't work for everyone. Swood1994
I have a Scotty. I putt well with it but it is no where near perfect. I still look at other putters and test out different styles/brands. The only thing holding me back is my wallet. Best piece of advice is find a style you like and are confident with or get fit. Putting is a very personal part of the game. Everyone’s preferences and stroke are different.
