MrShowbiz999
Looking for recommendations on best ball for distance. I've seen online the Bridgestone e9, the Titleist Velocity, the Taylormade Distance+, etc., all at a reasonable pricepoint (sub $30/dozen), but was wondering if there were other senior golfers here who have been looking for that same thing - more distance for their slower swing - and have found a ball that helps them to accomplish just that? I've read lots of reviews, but nothing beats actual referrals from actual amateur customers. Thanks in advance . . . Hook DeLoft
I have found that I hit my driver farther with a premium ball such as Titleist ProV1x. The extra spin keeps the ball in the air longer at my slower swing speed. On the other hand, a lower spin ball such as the Titleist Velocity gives me more distance with the irons because of the lower spin. I've yet to find the unicorn that gives me more distance with both the driver and irons. I play a premium ball because I would rather have the higher spin on shorter shots into the green. That way I don't have to deal with estimating the run out on shots. I’ve added 10+ yds distance using the Taylormade Tour Response Stripe. I’ve compared it to ProV 1 in both a simulator and on course and it’s certainly longer. It’s a bit more $ than these other recommendations, but it’s worth it for distance and control around greens. BarbE
I golf with an 80+ year old guy who got into the Bridgestone E9's last year and he hits them a long way. Helps him keep up with us 70 year olds. I like the Callaway ERC reva and our other 70 year old plays the Callaway ERC. Dukhook52
I like the Titleist TruFeel except that it releases a bit more on the green than I prefer. Get about the same carry with Chrome Soft Triple Trak, but a little better bite. Quote I don’t carry a fairway wood… Link to comment
skraeling
Ive had good success with the vice pro's and also the chromesoft X ls. Ive had some of my farthest drives ever with the X LS. I need to revisit the vice's though as Im a better driver of the ball now than I was when I was playing them. My Golf Spy has done a ball test that included slower swing speed players. https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/golfspy.t/viz/MyGolfSpy2023BallTest-public-crosstab/TableData Just make sure to select slow swing speed and dont forget to look at the mid iron and not just the driver in the drop down window also.
