whiskey golf
Ever since I got my Odyssey Sabertooth belly putter, I've liked the idea of it matching the prototype Versa model that Keegan Bradley used for a bit. I've considered doing something like this if possible but wanted your opinion. Is there someone you could have do this or is it able to be done on your own? And if so, what kind of stuff would you need? Also, if anyone has done something along the lines of repainting your putter, hearing your experience would be good. And to make this clear, I am not going to do this right now and it may not even happen. This is just getting ideas for the future which would be a little while from now. http://www.pgatour.com/equipmentreport/2013/03/21/odyssey-versa-making-a-splash.html
The Artful Duffer
I've been skeptical of the versa models and probably won't bag one but I actually like that color scheme on the sabertooth. ZenGolfer
IMO, the Sabretooth doesnt have enough straight lines on it for the Versa color scheme to be effective. Im sure that you could do it with a paint gun and some painter's tape, I just dont see why youd want to. I don't really fall for what the Versa paint scheme does as far as alignment goes, but I like the black and white a lot and wouldn't mind bagging one but I want the best of both worlds. apprenti23
That Versa Sabertooth looks fantastic!!!! I wonder if they'll be releasing one of those in the future...
mudfish
I tried painting mine last year... it's the first time I've ever tried painting a club and it turned out OK. I just used spray paint. I tried painting the "insert" parts on the wings with model paint, but it didn't come out like I planned. Maybe I'll try something new this summer... This is just the regular Sabertooth, not the belly... Same here. I always kind of felt like the Versa was just a way for Odyssey to bring out, "new" putters simply by repainting their old ones. RookieBlue7
You'll want a polymer finish if you want one that will hold up. You can DIY it if you know where to get the materials. If not, I highly recommend LaMont Mann at Mannkrafted Golf (you can also find him on facebook and twitter, though he's just started with twitter and hasn't really gotten it down pat yet).
