M.Duchesne
This year I have tried the Daytona 12 ghost tour putter 34" inches which is 40% toe hang ,,,I am straight with this one and very confident ,does this means that ,in my next purchase I should always look at this characteristics with any other putters. Could I be also very straight with A face angle like mallet Rossa Inza TM or spider putter? Matter of stance or angle? Thanks for your comments. BIG STU
First off I always say look at what fits your eye. If it looks good to you no matter the brand or style that is a good beginning. Next is the feel and balance for you. Then it is the feel of when you roll the ball. Personally I do not worry about toe hang. Now for me a center shafted anything does not sit well to my eye. I am a heel shafted fan period. I am not a mallet style man either. I like anything 8802 style or Anser style. You just have develop on what fits your eye and feel everyone is different Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee. hckymeyer
If you ever get the chance to do an Edel fitting it's pretty eye opening how many variables there are that can determine you aiming where you think you are vs way off. Even the difference between 1 sight line, 3 sight lines, a dot or blank can make a huge difference. So a 40% toe hang that works well for you now doesn't mean the same thing will work in a different style, but it's still a good place to start! RookieBlue7
Toe hang is generally suited to stroke types. Straighter strokes will do better (generally speaking) with a face balanced or close to it model. More arc in your stroke, more toe hang is generally the rule. That said, some dude with the last name Woods putted better than anyone on the planet for a long time with a putter with a 5:00 toe hang and had a very straight stroke. Toe hang is a good starting point for stroke types, but it's not the be all, end all. apprenti23
It's a combination of the size of the arc/path in conjunction with the amount of face rotation relative to that path that will determine the proper amount of toe hang required to suit your stroke.
