  1. Happy Tuesday! Another gorgeous day on tap. Maybe I will sneak to the range. Wishing you all a great one!
  2. If this is forbidden, I apologize. Wanted to let you Maltby fans that I put a tester TS3 7 iron and TS4 9 iron in the Classifieds. I am gaming both these models; I just have extras. BTW I also picked up a KE4 FDI hybrid irons in 2 and 3. I've hit the 3 a bunch and like it, but want to try it in a different shaft. The 2i is on the way and I plan to try that with the Venus Black (non-velo) HB shaft.

  9. Good morning! A cool morning here. Headed out to grab some donuts for the fam, then big sell-off day today. I know we have too much “stuff” especially including a lot of hobby things I don’t use much anymore (drums mostly), so I have imposed a pseudo-restriction on myself that I have to sell enough to pay for the planned garage sim. Planning to list lots of stuff for sale today. Fingers crossed! I hope you all have super days. Fairways and greens!
  10. So it’s Friday, and I was sitting outside with my Dad, having a couple glasses of wine, just minding our own business. And then I looked on eBay. . . I blame all of you! Every last one of you. Lol. PS. I may have picked up a 3 iron too.
  11. Same login for me, but I put my question in the existing M890/Autoflex thread. Perhaps I goofed.?.?
  12. Good morning! It’s a golfing morning for me and the weather should be gorgeous. Of course I’m awake before the sun pondering today’s setup. Playing a long course, I may jettison a wedge and take a full compliment of fairway woods and hybrids. Decisions! Last night, a friend and I went down the rabbit hole of looking at vintage blade sets on eBay, and hatched a plan to buy sets and play them together occasionally. It would be fun, probably funny at times, and maybe improve our ball striking. I have eyes on some Hogan Apex and MacGregor sets. Tons of intriguing options out there. Wow they are gorgeous! I hope you all have great golf plans as we slide into the weekend and that you have super Thursdays!
  13. I have both. BOA on top is great. BOA on the side can be tough to get to, but if you are limber (unlike me) or don't mind twisting into a pretzel (like me) to get to the dial on the outside of your foot, BOA works great. I don't presume to review shoelaces. I think that ship sailed long ago - probably with the Vikings raiding the Anglo-Saxons, or before.
  14. I posted the question about the shaft flex on the Maltby website. Will let y'all know if I get a reply. I saw @azstu324 on there too -- he follows me from the front all the time.
  15. Date 09/04/2023 Course Name Eagle Creek - Pines Gross Score 82 Course Handicap 12 Gross Strokes over/under par 10 Net Score to Par -2 Net Score 70 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 292 VCT Match Play Score Fun round with my parents and daughter on a beautiful day. The slow greens hampered my putting - 34 putts. Played the tips for the first time at this course and it changed strategy a little, but not much. I feel like I am close to scoring better but cannot seem to get over the 80 threshold. Maybe soon. Fingers crossed!
  16. Good morning, Spies! It’s another beautiful day in Indiana. Sunny skies, nice morning temps, and green everywhere. Looking forward to an easy round this late afternoon. I wish you all a great Monday / US Lanor Day!
  17. Good morning Spies! The forum is hopping! Boat day today with my parents, FABWIFE, eldest daughter, two of her friends, and Jasper. (See pic from yesterday on the boat.) Golf tomorrow afternoon with my parents and youngest daughter. I think I am more excited for her to try her new clubs than she is. After she hits them, I think that will change. I played Friday afternoon with my parents and played my best golf of the summer. After a slow start due to not warming up (2 doubles in first four holes), I finished with an 81 on a very narrow track. The key was course management. I left the driver in the bag unless I truly needed it. Even though I hit it well, I found more fairways and took OB out of the equation by hitting hybrid or driving iron. Also, only 28 putts. I put the UST All-In Retrofit shaft in my new (to me) Scotty Cameron and putting was seriously lights out. Never sniffed a three putt. Man I hope that continues. Golf is so fun all the time, but especially when the game is clicking. I hope all of you are having a super weekend and get to play lots of golf!
  18. Bought my daughter a set of Maltby M890 hybrid/irons, and built her out my old driver with grafalloy PLB L flex shaft, 4 wood, and Odyssey 2-ball putter. Playing with her and her new kit Labor Day!

  20. Good morning, Spies! Man, the full moon did a number on the family this week. First, our washing machine decided to pour water all over the floor last weekend. The repair person said he could fine nothing - it was either a fluke, or it was just overstuffed. (Probably the latter, tbh.) Second, I managed to wreck my bumper Tuesday by hitting a building. (Well, the wall of the parking garage door b/c I was putting an address in the GPS and stupidly got distracted. Totally my fault.) Then, my eldest daughter got into a wreck in a Lowe's parking lot yesterday. Everyone is fine and it was not her fault, thank goodness, but ouch. Not tempting fate, just saying: that's three! You can stop now! Sending more good thoughts to your wife @sirchunksalot. Beautiful weather in Indy today. But golf has to wait for tomorrow. Everyone else playing -- good luck today! Wishing you all a super Thursday.
  21. Good morning, Spies! Sending prayers to our Florida Spies and the lucky wife of @sirchunksalot. Hope everyone is ok! Really looking forward to Friday golf! It's been too long. Hope you al have a great Wednesday.
  22. Thank you, my friends! You are very kind. Happy bday to my other 8/30 brethren!
