    Love that course.
I used to live just down the street from it (across the street from Plum Creek), and remember when it first opened.
It was hard then, and I imagine that it’s even tougher now.

Today was a shining example of how cruel the golf gods can be.
Front 9 wasn’t bad, even made back to back pars (not currently a normal occurrence).
Back 9 was a horrible mess that nothing went right on.
But the bottom line is that I got out in the sun with good friends. I’ll take that any day of the week.

Yesterday I played Prairie View GC (Carmel, IN, USA). Really fun course where you have to plot your way round and the driver might as well stay in the car! I used hybrid and long iron way more than pretty much any other course I play at and even then I was hitting through fairways and into rough. Course management killed what should have been a better score. Lost a couple of balls in heavy rough due to hitting through the fairway and being a fraction off line. But hitting past intended landing spots and having to chip out round trees or hack out of sloping rough cost me. Lessons learned.

I felt I was hitting the ball well and putting ok (much faster greens than my regular muni). Really tough pin positions. They just have had a comp/ scramble this weekend or around now. Most pins were tucked at the edge of the greens and next to sloped areas. I was very close with a number of long putts and distance control was decent.
It’s one of my favorite courses in the area. A little overpriced but group golfer coupons make it a great value course.lol
    Score: 84 (+12)
    Tees/ rating: white, 70.7/ 129
    FIR: 7/14
    GIR: 7/18
    Putts: 36 (2x 1-putt, 2x3-putt)

The course really gets interesting after hole 5, when you start hitting the woodland holes.
the first few are open parkland and a good warm up…

Play well if you’re heading out today…

    Thanks….
It’s probably just a bit of nostalgia on my part, but I really loved those clubs.
I have upgraded to the Taylormade M2’s to try to get into more modern technology. The distance changes alone show me what 30 years can do.

I used to games these too.  Found a wedge from the set recently in the garage.  Great fun back in the day.

Still have my set from high school.  MILES of offset.

I played the DCI Black O/S 2-iron as a matching driving iron for my DCI 962 set.
Great clubs, but the T-Series nearly thirty years later makes the thirty years of new tech noticeable.
Also, the DCI models are from the investment cast stainless steel era,
so while very good golf clubs, they are also a bit dated in that regard.
I could still happily play with them if that's what I had.

So I will preface this by saying that my old irons were Titleist DCI Black Oversize + with Rifle Steel shafts, and I loved them.
I talked myself into rebuilding my bag with new to me clubs, and am currently playing Taylormade M2’s with KBS regular shafts. Those are absolute cannons, and I’m struggling a bit to figure out the consistent distances out of them.
I upgraded my driver to a Taylormade SIM Max, and am pretty happy with it.
I also upgraded to a Titleist TSI2 5 wood, and am happy with it.
I’ve still got my Callaway Big Bertha 3+ in the bag, but that club has always been a love/hate relationship.
I still play my old Cleveland wedges, but it’s definitely time for those to change. I also just switched from an original Odyssey blade putter to a #7 mallet style.
The biggest change for me was adding a 3 Hybrid. Where were these things 20 years ago? It’s great off the turf, and has become my go-to fairway finder off the tee.
