  1. That is awesome! Keep it left on #8 at Pebble! Sent from my rotary telephone
  2. We play a game called "sneakies". 2 man teams, 2 points for low score on the hole, total, birdie, and prox (closest to the hole in regulation). 1 point for greenie (on in reg), poley (any putt made longer than the flagstick), sandy (any up and down from bunker), and sneakie (up and down for par). You can add them together so saving par from the sand with a 10 ft putt is a sneakie, sandy, and poley- 3 points! The team in the lead always tees off 1st, if they hit bad shots the trail team can "bridge", which doubles the point value for that hole only. If they then hit poor shots the first team can "re-bridge", which doubles the double. So if you're playing for $1 a point, a bridge/re-bridge makes it $4 a point on that hole. With all the points flying around the $$ changes in a hurry. It's not unusual to have a 10 point hole if a team gets a regulation birdie out of 1 guy and and trashy up and down from the other. 3. I haven't played the Mizzys for a number of years. I have played several sets of Srixon MBs, including the prior gen 945 blade, which was buttery smooth and didn't seem hard to hit. I have the cb 765s now and haven't really been tempted to look at the mb 965. I can do everything with the 765 that I'm looking for anyway Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  4. I think the lack of green grass support is a big problem for Cobra. I don't see them in pro shops, having demo days, sponsoring local section events or club pros on staff. They feel like a big box brand only these days. If I asked my club pro who his Cobra rep is I promise he would have to look it up. But has a personal relationship w Cally, TM and Titleist Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  5. The way it's done for pairings is first one in goes to the top of the list. So if 3 guys are tied for second at -9, whoever posted it first is in the final group. I never noticed that GC was re-ordering the scoreboards. Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  6. I feel like MGS did a study on this a year or so ago. I don't remember exactly what the results were but it seems as if the round grip was the poorest performer Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. Are the heads the same? The Sub Zero has a very different sound than the standard head Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  8. I just had the same diagnosis in the lead shoulder. Shoulder impingement, some tearing. Cortisone shots and physical therapy first. The physical therapy is all done online which is cool and much less $$ than going somewhere. $75 for a year subscription. The site is called trainer-rx.com. Highly recommend, I think your doc has to set up an invite for you Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  9. Yep, all the way back to a Most Wanted Mizuno FW. Putters mostly Sent from my Pixel XL using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  10. I think you've answered your own question right here. I do believe that the Modus 120 line plays about 1/2 flex soft to some of the other OEMs, to the point where they actually have a TX (Tour X) flex available. The great thing about the Modus is they say the consumer shaft is identical to the tour shaft. Tolerances, weight sorting, all the same.
  11. Weather has turned here in Central Indiana and Sunday looked like our last day for a while. We decided to just go 9 holes early and try to beat incoming storms. Was wet and muddy so we were rolling the ball over. Definitely not real golf and I had 0 expectations to do anything other than get out of the house. So of course.....2 pars to start. Birdies on 3 and 4. Sloppy bogey with wedge in my hands on 5 so 1 under. Then make 30 footer for birdie on 6, hit a great 5 wood second shot over a pond to 6 feet for eagle on 7. Par the par 3 eighth and punch a 5 iron from 170 into a 15 mph breeze to 4 feet on 9. Made that to play the last 4 holes 4 under and shoot 31! Beat my low for the year on that side by 2 shots, and had averaged 38 for the season. No swing thoughts, no putting thoughts, no worries, just out chasing it around. Was almost like my clubs were saying "We told you all year long WE'RE NOT THE PROBLEM! Now go put us away and do some work on yourself this off season." 13. Very interesting and well written. It's early in the morning though so I honestly have no idea what other site rhymes with hex. Is there a "golfsex.com" out there I should know about (Googles furiously)? Sadly there isn't. There should be. Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  14. Good luck Jax. I bet you will get iron shots jumping off the face Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. Nice swing there Dave. I'm guessing you keep it in the short grass most of the time Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  16. By early extension I assume you mean the old humping the barrel thing? Im sure there's tons of drills out there to stay in your posture but the easiest is setting your bag or alignment stick up against your backside and still feeling it there through transition. The other feeling (not really a drill) I like for this is to really feel yourself pressuring the ground through your lead foot as you start down. No way to hump forward if you're pressing down Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  17. Stud I don't know that your ball position is much of an issue. Yes it's back a little relative to your left foot, but we don't really care about the left foot as much as the left shoulder. You're basically under the left shoulder which is fine. It could move up a ball width from there to encourage swinging up a touch more but nothing drastic. Someone else in the thread recommend the head cover under the right armpit drill and I think that's spot on. Looks like the lifting of the right elbow at the end of the back swing is your culprit here. Getting that thing to stay in it's position better will move you into a more rounded turn at the top, which should put you in a better position to attack from the inside. 18. That's not surprising. You're a bit steep and a bit over the top. That's not necessarily bad, you can Bruce Lietzke your way around all day. But it does indicate a player who will likely be better hitting irons off the ground than sweeping a driver off a tee. I'm guessing you hit lots of nice little fade iron shots but can miss with the driver both dead pull or slice if the face gets too open. I don't know that I would overhaul it or anything, if it's repeatable you probably know what you can or can't do pretty well. Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  19. Get "The Golf Omnibus" by P.G. Wodehouse. A collection of his short stories written in the early 1900s. Wonderfully funny. You won't learn any technique but you will get a look into the heart and soul of the game. Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  20. Courtesy of an Irish caddie after a bladed iron shot rolled up on the green- "that one's a sister-in-law. You're on 'er but you shouldn't be" Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  21. Not sure if Krank inspires that kind of passion. I think they have always refused to participate in MGS testing but talk trash about it. I'm sure their stuff is fine but I doubt that you will find much difference from most OEMs. Sent from my Nexus 6P using MyGolfSpy mobile app
