  1. We are fortune to have several Long running threads that have gone on for years! There are a few more of them in the Daily section as well!
  2. Just got an alert for a set of ping ie1 irons on our local BST site. Buy now is 250, but 100 right now for bidding. I loved these irons when I had them. They have my Nippon shafts in them too. Will see how bidding goes but man i really want them.
  3. Was looking for the right thread to post part of the below in and couldn't find one that matched what I was looking for, which means we get a new one. Where Do You Play? - Let us know where you have your membership or where you play most often. - Tell us what the course is like, what the membership or clubhouse features. - Why did you choose to play there? - What were other options or was that about your only option? - What benefits does your membership have? _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ For me I was stuck between 2 different options. There is a course close to me (about 20 minutes) has great facilities (Championship 18, 9 and 6 hole course, 2 large practice areas, large 2 end driving range with top tracer and more). However the course I will admit isn't my favorite. Monday to Friday membership is 1800 usd. There is another course that is 45 minutes away, much nicer higher class so to speak, a lot of variety in the holes and still has practice areas, but is more expensive at 3000 usd. However it is part of a package called PPG Courses which gives access to 9 other stellar courses in Switzerland at no extra cost. Most all the other courses are still 45 plus minutes away, but they are often 180 usd per round so I wouldn't ever go play them having to pay a green fee. I have been stuck between the two options for some time, with a second kid coming I don't want to drive that much and the extra cost even with those perks just was seemingly too much work and effort. I also figured if I wanted to I could use some of the money saved by getting a Otelfingen Membership and maybe play one or two of the other courses from time to time. I do have a friend who has joined one of them and that means if I played with him I get a member guest rate of I think 100 or so. However after talking with the Chef and the Curling Hall he mentioned that for only a extra 200 with the Otelfingen Membership you gain access to all the Migro courses. They have 6 other courses in the area and 2 are only about 35 minutes away. I have played half of the them and although they are often busy they are all good courses and offer great value. So for 2k I get access to great practice facilties (discount on range balls) playing privilege at 6 courses and the ability to play a lot closer. It certainly now is a no brainer and if I want to play the other courses I can simply organize with a friend and pay less. Golfing here is expensive so finding any sort of deal is huge and I think this is about the best I could possibly do. I haven't spent much time in the club house, but it is always busy with people for food and there is no beverage fee or whatever. The course itself is really busy, sometimes too busy, but when you pick the proper times it isn't that bad. Looking forward to hearing where all of you play and why!
  4. Anyone nearing any post milestones? @Golfspy_TCB you must be close to something given how much you've been rocking lately!
  5. Well base results are in. Guess what? Titleist is clearly leading the pack in consumer perception. Although we have to wait a bit longer for full results I think this is pretty striking to see! https://mygolfspy.com/2022-golfers-choice-awards/
  6. I wanted to get out for a few more sessions to do some trial and error, however with colder temps, sick wife, sick baby, work, dogs, mgs and now travel then christmas and more work looks like January I'll be back on it! Thankfully courses are open year round so I'll still be able to get some time in, but won't be for likely another month until I swing a club again.
  7. Not that I'll See much of it. I'll be in an arena 18 hours a day and sleeping any other part that I can.
  8. That kinda seems to be a trend with dtc players irons. I would say the 659s are bulkier than most would really want but still pleasing to look at.
  9. Off to Finland! Where there will be 6 hours of daylight (9:00-15:00) and hopefully some snow!
  10. There are so many different ones to choose from. Some are bigger and have kinda a mini hybrid look/feel, others are just a bigger iron. I have the ping g410 crossovers and they do have a thicker sole, but I have been able to play them fine both on and off the tee. Srixon and Sub70 are similar from what I recall. The crobra is a bit smaller sole and adjustable lofts (pings new crossover is adjustable as well) Titleist is a good in between. Then you have various TM products which are all over from smaller hybrids to true driver irons. Even some older clubs like the Adams Dhy were and are still good products. I have a 4 Dhy and it doesn't get in play often, but has buldge and roll on the face and is usually pretty easy to hit. It's a vast Market and I'm sure there is something there to fit your needs!
  11. Had Ivan's Christmas shoot the other day with a good friend (posted some of his golfing Photos before) had a lot of fun and altho there were a ton of good photos the bad ones were some of my favorites.
  12. Made a quick search, but didn't find these. Anyone take the dive on these or just the CB or just MB? I love my 659s no question, but am still very curious on the DTC lines and these looks just stunning. Reviews seem good, but of course I prefer to hear from all the members here at MGS Forum. Anyone that have a set care to share some photos? Interesting shaft options, many Are upcharge, but still solid price Overall!
  13. Curious on this as well. Black was my first choice for my 659s, but went with raw for availability. Still may go black for my next set of they are around and available.
  14. I have one of the Epic Max drivers and have to say it's great. I am gaming a Titleist and you can check out the driver shootout (link in signature) however a hard driver to go wrong with. Callaway wedges seem to be liked by many. I haven't played any since the MD3s, but they were solid performers and my only complaint was the heads felt very heavy to me. Same goes for the 5 wood, Mavrik was a pretty solid line so don't think you'll have many issue there. Unfortunately can't speak to the irons as I haven't really hit any Callaway irons in some time, however I can't imagine they would be a poor performer.
  15. Finland for a few weeks. Of course still around the forum, nice to be traveling again!

  16. Was looking at different range finders and some smaller things that may be good and easy purchases for christmas. Also have a line for some new wedges for next season... hmm decisions decisions!
  17. I wish they had a few other options for LH, but these have certainly peaked my interest if I was to look at a second set of irons. Of course the 659 TC are safe in the bag, but these do have a lot of appeal to me!
  18. The Nippon N.S. PRO 850GH neo. It's a long product name with a simple story. If you're a golfer that uses a 40-50 gram driver shaft, Nippon designed the N.S. PRO 850GH neo for you. In other words, golfers who benefit from lightweight driver and fairway wood shafts should find a similar upside with sub-100 gram iron shafts. The design architecture is similar to the N.S. PRO 950 neo, with the 850GH neo coming in a weight class lower (84.5 gm in R flex and 88 gr in S flex). Moreover, the N.S. PRO 850GH neo acknowledges two key industry realities. First, many golfers are better off with irons that launch higher and spin more. Also, the typical modern GI (game improvement) iron design features less static loft (hello 40° pitching wedges) with a lower center of gravity to try and offset the jacked lofts. Hitting your 7-iron 10 yards further might be nice and feel good inside the friendly confines of an indoor simulator. But, what benefit is increased distance if it doesn't get you any closer to the hole? Nippon is quick to acknowledge the early success and widespread adoption of the N.S. PRO 850GH neo on the Japan Ladies Professional Tour. But, that shouldn't be misconstrued as any indication that this series is female-specific. The reality is, most golfers that look to professionals for product credibility would be far better to emulate the specs and bag setup of professional female golfers as opposed to male golfers. But that's where the similarities end. Put differently, the only thing an amateur golfer has in common with an LPGA pro is that they both will often fit into the same equipment specs. It's fair to suggest that Nippon is the industry leader in lightweight steel iron shafts. It's also reasonable to opine that Nippon might be the industry's most underrated steel shaft manufacturer. You don't need to tell that to Tony Finau or plenty of other pros and elite amateurs. IFYKYK, right? Follow our Testers Reviews and progress below!
  19. The PuttOUT Devil Ball is unlike any other golf ball. On second thought, scratch that. It isn’t a golf ball (or at least not by traditional definition). The Devil Ball has a unique design where one side of the ball has a straight edge. PuttOUT even puts a disclaimer on the packaging: “Devil Ball has been created as a putting training aid and should not be used with any other golf club!” You’ve been warned. The purpose of the Devil Ball is simple: to provide feedback on your putter’s face angle at impact. Follow our testers reviews and updates below! 20. Well they aren't in LIV so nowhere? Tiger however would go in a injured circle. And Rory is currently the best golfer on the planet (strikes gained) so nowhere?
  21. Just wow... some heated games of golf recently!
  22. There are so many options with golf balls it can be really difficult to decide. At least for me as much as performance matters, price plays a huge factor and definitely like balls such as the Tour Response as they are great value for the money.
  23. https://mygolfspy.com/new-oncore-elixr-golf-ball-2022-model/ This one was done in April of 2022. I don't believe they have had a new ball come out since then so this should be "current"
  24. Not so much working, but I dug up a golf book called Playing without Fear that I'm going to give a read. I think it could be a good time to also work on the mental side of the game.
  25. As this has been all too serious. For some comedic relief I found this.
