Yes, my group plays music. I have a couple of speakers. Depends on the tastes of the group though. For me, it helps me be less tense...A distraction from the technical, tension-buiding swing thoughts that I don't like. The heart of rock 'n roll is still beatin' in this old guy!
    Best, -Marv

As long as it's at a reasonable volume I love music on the golf course. Helps break up the monotony of a slow round.
I have a buddy who is always looking for an excuse for this bad shots, and loves to blame it on someone's music. Funny thing is though, he'll then put his airpods in to tune everything else out, so apparently it's only other people's music that bothers him?

I just got the Qi10 LS, as a warranty replacement after the sole cracked on my less than 6 months old Stealth 2 (which was a warranty replacement for a Stealth). After having two TaylorMade heads crack on me in less than a year's time I was considering giving the Paradym a go. But I have been thoroughly impressed with the Qi10 so far. It has been very forgiving and extremely accurate. And it has been long for me, noticeably longer on mis-hitstoo.
While it is nice that it goes straighter, it's also not as easy to move one way or the other when I want to.

My first two 9 hole scores just posted last night from the men's league I play in. First impression is that they seem a little inflated. I am guessing that the algorithm will need some tweaking over time to get more accurate. I guess we're in the data collection phase now.
I like the idea, especially considering it never seemed like the combined scores gave a fair assessment of an 18 hole round. Playing conditions, course conditions and just day to day fluctuations in play had too much variation for 2 scores from different days, weeks, months, etc to give an accurate differential. It will be interesting to see how this new system works out. In the short run, I'm expecting some inflated handicaps..

Golf Pride Reverse Taper putting grip – Preliminary Review by Nemac
By popular demand here is a preliminary review of the brand new Golf Pride Reverse Taper Grip. A little background on me first. I am a 58 year old male who has recently retired from full-time work. I am married to a wonderful wife and have two fantastic kids who have fled the nest now. I have played golf since my teens but, for the vast majority of my working life, I played less than 10 times a year which, as you all know, damaged any chance of consistency/improvement. Probably my most inconsistent areas during that time were driver and putting, followed closely by chipping. My iron play has always been pretty good.
What changed I hear you ask? I purchased a Flightscope Mevo+ during Covid as well as a net and mat and started playing SIM golf in my drive pretty much every day. This one hour a day routine has improved my ball striking consistency no end, as well as knowing my yardages/data inside out, and as a result I am now regularly breaking 80. I am now playing a couple of times of week on the course as well as SIMing the rest of the time. I have always loved technology and analysing data and the advent of all this new technology in the golf arena at a more affordable price has just pushed me to new levels with the game and increased my enjoyment of it.
The one area where SIM golf lets you down is in putting and although the rest of my game improved massively, my putting still needed some work. Given my need for consistency and love of new technology it is no surprise that I bought a LAB putter. I went for the LINK 1 as I prefer the blade style and the DF2 was just too much of a spaceship for me!! This allowed me to have much more control on my putter path than I ever had but I still needed to deal with distance control. I have spent more time on the practice green to dial this in but 6 months ago I bought the EXPUTT which has been transformational in my practice. I now practice 3-4 times a week by spending 30 minutes hitting roughly 100 putts at different lengths and on different stimps and given it is on a TV screen and has all the data I never get bored of it. As a result I have now improved the consistency on my distance putting quite considerably. There is still green reading to perfect but basic aimpoint works okay for me.
I first saw the new Golf Pride grip discussed on MGS at the beginning of the month and then saw it reviewed by several YouTubers such as Coach Lockey, who tested all three grips and compared the data on a SAM puttlab, as well as the reviews by James Robinson and Chris Dennis which were all really positive.

The Golf Pride concept is that the Reverse Taper grip is designed with a larger lower hand to reduce hand tension and help create extra stability for a more square face at impact.

This concept intrigued me and when I saw the data from Coach Lockey’s review I thought I would give it a go as any incremental improvement is definitely worth having. Given how new this product was there was nowhere to physically test and feel the product beforehand. The only way to get hold of it this early in the release was from online stores such as Adore Grips or Golf Clubs for Cash. The Reverse Taper grips are available in 3 shapes (Round, Flat and Pistol) and 2 sizes (Medium and Large). I went for the pistol grip in medium just purely because I always enjoyed pistol grips in the past and I never like my grips to be too large given I have a M/L glove size. The grip was £29.99 incl delivery (roughly $38).
    First impressions: 9 of 10
On the aesthetic front I really like the black, white and red colour scheme and this works really well against the black shaft of my LINK putter. This is purely personal and the colour scheme will not be for everyone. The downside for me is the lack of colour choice which does impact the brand compared to a competitor such as SuperStroke which has a huge variety of colourways. What I will say is that the grip feels absolutely amazing in hand. The pistol grip fits perfectly for my traditional putting grip of left hand above interlocked right. The top of the grip has a flat part on the side that fits perfectly into the fleshy part of my top hand.

The bottom taper is extremely comfortable and definitely dampens down your lower hand.
The textured surface of the grip is also really nice and soft and offers really good feedback to the golfer.
    Performance: 10 out of 10
The putter just feels so stable when you take a practice swing and appears to go over the same point on the ground time and time again. I have just started using the grip and have not even taken it out on the course yet. Saying that the preliminary data I have seen from my EXPUTT is very encouraging.

I have tested this initially at distances of 25-40 feet from the hole as this is where I get increased dispersion in my putter launch direction. With my old grip, which was the standard LAB Golf simple midsize grip, I was getting maximum dispersion of up to 2.5 degrees left or right. With the new grip my maximum dispersion on my first 100 putts was only 1.8 degrees offline which is a significant improvement.
Anecdotally I saw many more putts at 0.0 degrees with the new grip than with my previous grip and more of my putts just missed the hole than I have typically seen in a session.
Historically I have holed out about 10 putts in a hundred in this 25-40 foot range so a 10% success rate. With the new grip I managed 19 putts out of a hundred yesterday which again is a significant improvement.
My initial impressions are extremely positive on this grip and I hope to see the incremental performance on the course. This is why I said it does exactly what it says on the tin!!!!
It is still very early days on testing (with a very limited data set) and I need to try it on course a few times to get a much better feel. I will continue to monitor my EXPUTT data and update you with more detail in the coming weeks.

Jonknowsgolf got a reaction from ZackS in Tiger or Jack?
Tiger dominated the game for 20+ years. He won the US Open playing on a broken leg. He won the Masters, major #15, in 2019 after a lot of people had written him off. And his career is not over yet, although it's been a while since he finished a tournament. How many guys playing on tour today grew up wanting to be like Tiger? How many of them are playing golf because of Tiger? He changed the game of golf and the PGA Tour would not be what it is today without him.
Jack didn't quite dominate in Tiger fashion, but he invoked fear in his competitors much like Tiger did. Along with his 18 majors he had 19 runner-up finishes in majors. He had a much superior Ryder Cup record to Tiger. He changed golf too and helped establish the PGA Tour as we know it. He left a strong legacy, and one that is much less tarnished than Tiger's.
It would have been fun to see them play head to head. They were both easily the best player of their time. Hard to choose "the best" so I'm not going to.

Jack has the benefit of precedent, a closed book. Tiger is technically still an open case, although there's very little indicating he will ever win again, so I guess you could call that book closed...? Jack wins because, well, he did it. No woulda, coulda, shoulda. No if only... He did it. Tiger could have, but made too many poor choices off the course that ultimately cost him on the course.
