Putter shafts - Do they matter?
Quigleyd replied to JakeSmith2316's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
They know a lot of people that do. they dont have the equipment for the ball test. That is why they do it at Ping or PXG. -
Putter shafts - Do they matter?
Quigleyd replied to JakeSmith2316's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
Do it the same as the driver test. Set up a control putter. Something standard like an Newport model at 34 inches. then take that same head and build up 30 other putters with your BGT, KBS cutter and one step, UST all-in, stroke lab, LAGOLF, etc etc etc.. roll puts at 5, 10, and 20 feet. 3 putts at each distance and with 100 different golfers. Record the data on the putter system of your chosing and measure the differences. -

Putter shafts - Do they matter?
Quigleyd replied to JakeSmith2316's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
I think the difference here is the very very low amount of force and torque being applied. I have tried basically every putter shaft out there baring a few and I can notice a feel at impact difference but I don't notice a difference from a standard steel shaft and something that is zero torque. I am not like "wow! That was way easier to keep on line".. I am completely happy to be proven wrong. I just have not seen anything yet to say that out side of making your bag and putter have a bit more bling that there is a real benefit in made putts. -

I am still skeptical that benafits are real outside of a change in feel. That can present real benefits but I am not certain they can be measured on any system. -

There are lots of putter shafts upgrades out there these days both steel and graphite. These all promise different things. Do you think the make a difference? -
2023 TaylorMade Launches Stealth 2 Carbonwood Driver Line
Quigleyd replied to Golfspy_CG2's topic in Golf Clubs
I dont know why, or what has changed or maybe it is just me being rusty. But, I do not get along well with the stealth 2. I hit the stealth 1 better than any driver I have in years! I was very confident in it.. It is really weird to me.. Still trying to work it out. -
I like going to the practice green and probably do that more than anything. As I can do it for free and it has a lower time commitment. I am not sure it is helping though.
-
Can I say undecided? I really want to find a putter that I feel comfortable and confident with. But, I have not found it yet. I am almost to the point of just accepting that I may not make any putts but at least i will have an awesome putter and pick up a new 8802 blade.

2023 TaylorMade Launches Stealth 2 Carbonwood Driver Line
Quigleyd replied to Golfspy_CG2's topic in Golf Clubs
I had the stealth plus 1 and now have the stealth plus 2.. I preferred the 1 I think. -
Well. I built it. It did. It didn’t go all that well. Took it apart immediately. Lol..

I think it looks fantastic. I have no need for one, but I want one. I played the OG mini for a season with pretty good success. I do wish it was a smidge smaller. Say 290cc instead of 304..

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SLOW PLAY? | NO PUTTS GIVEN 141
Quigleyd replied to GolfSpy MPR's topic in General Equipment Talk
I both care and dont really care about how fast or slow tour players play. 1. Part if this is a production problem. Rather than spend 2 min watching Cantlay get ready. Show action somewhere else. 2. Cantlay's slowness does not really affect me I am not sure how many rec players see tour pros and then copy how slow and methodical they are.. 3. lastly, if it is really a problem someone would get dinged for slow play. But they never ever will. It just wont happen. It would honestly only take a couple times and then you would see play speeds increase. But they know nothing will happen so there is no need to change. The tour slow play penalty is like the law on the books that states you cant tie your horse to the salon post for more than 12 hours without taking off your saddle. It's a law on the books but is not really a law because it is either not enforceable or no longer relevant. -
the amount of body work he has had done is staggering.

I currently have two putters. Both have super stroke grips. One is a gt 1.0 the other is a pistol gt 1.0.. I am not sure if I like them or not yet..
-
Good thought. Creep is a real thing.
-
I have a jaws raw full toe that is a 64 degree that I have bent to a 62.
-
It is a junk ball anyway.. I bought a dzn at the initial launch. Not impressed. It may work for you if you are an extremely high launch high spin player. It is a fairly soft feeling overall but was just meh..

How many rounds does a golf ball last?
Quigleyd replied to Duxman130's topic in Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips
Rounds? lol -
I have some of these but have not had a chance to play them. I thought to first version was oh so close to being the perfect ball.
