    Afternoon Everyone.

Name is Brian been playing since I was 19, took 20+ years off to raise kids, coach and work. Played about 4 times a year during that time, mostly business scrambles.(I'm an 17/18 and its came down 6 shots this year) I've loved this game since the 1st time I hit a ball and it took off like a rocket. I believe it is the hardest and most rewarding game invented. Mygolfspy is just a great resource. Best round on our front was 2 weeks ago 37 front and then a 47 back. !!

My home course is McNary Golf Club in Keizer Oregon. Best the summer months, worst the wetness. But I play in it.

My wife and I own a Staffing Agency, Just started back in this. Prior welder/fabricator production Manager and various sales/Management functions in the

    My name is my name..

Welcome! Are the courses closed over there still?

That is great to know, I am the same way with my clubs. I clean with soapy water after every round and practice session. The wear marks being in the center was exactly what I was thinking lol I guess even more incentive to work on my ball striking( me trying to justify getting murdered out irons lol) Thank you for this, might be making a call.

I will say that the black finish does make identifying impact on the face much easier to see! Plus visually the black finish has no glare at all on sunny days and the murdered out look is pretty sick!

Does anyone know how the black finish holds up on the 639 MB/CB's? I ask because they are out of stock of the MB's in the satin finish, but not sure when they will get back in stock. I like the look of the black irons, but if they fade pretty fast I may wait.  Ever since i demoed their set, I am hooked and want them in my bag asap lol Although I do understand why there is a delay, but any feedback would be much appreciated.

I have only played 4 rounds so far this year with my 639 black combos with moderate range time and so far so good. But I mean that's not a whole lot of use so I can do my best to keep you updated as the season goes on. I do my best to keep them clean after each shot with just a wet towel that way I'm not using something to abrasive to clean and effect the finish. Such great irons though, I have been nothing but happy since I put them in the bag. I kinda figured after a little use the look might be pretty cool having some of the finish worn off (as long as my wear marks are in the center of the club face lol)

I know I’m missing it too, once things open back up they should be great again. What makes it worse is the weather is 60 and sunny,, such a tease.

yea no kidding that's not even fair! I played yesterday, beautiful sunny day and I was happy the course was open, but it was about 45 degrees.

So, it has been a few weeks since I have tried the Sub 70 639 MB/CB. I wanted to get this up earlier, but as a driving instructor for a trucking company that moves food grade products, I have been training and driving many hours to keep shelves stocked in these crazy times.  First off, the customer service is amazing! They truly care about their product and their consumer.  They are good looking products that performs just as well. I play distance irons with a hollow body design, and one major problem I have with them is that they are jumpy and can hit some really hot ones that fly way past my normal yardage. I enjoyed the MB's the best, they launched really easy, and I thought I would sacrifice some yardage, but these were spot on my yardage as my gamers, but more consistent. It was difficult to send these back. Really happy with the demo process, and looking forward to doing business with them again. Pictures posted in a weird order. 1) CB 6-iron 2) MB 9-iron address 3) MB 9-iron 4) CB 6-iron address

    1. How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?    All my life! Dad won two state championships in WA when he was younger and that inspired me. GHIN ~ 3.5

    2. What do you love about golf? Everything, except how pros can't wear shorts on tournament days.

    3. What brings you to MyGolfSpy?    Do you already know any other Spies? Club info, forums, new knowledge. Don't know any other spies.

    4. Where are you from? Liberty Lake, Washington(near Spokane) What is your home course?  Tacoma, WA. Go all around wherever there is a deal. Chambers is probably my home course.

    5. What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?  Best: number of different courses around here, Worst: Rain I guess, but it just adds another challenge.

    6. What do you do for a living? Student. Will be figuring this out soon. Probably going into real estate.

    7. How’d you pick your user name? I have been a caddie at Chambers Bay for 4 years and love it. I could do it all my life honestly. Chambers has one tree on the entire course next to 16 tee and behind 15 green, its called the Lone Fir. Here's a picture of it, although I'm sure you all have already seen it.

The 639 combo set really does look amazing.  Has anyone tried there stand bag?  It looks nice on the website and the price crazy.

I have been loving the look of my combo set! Stand bag is definitely sick looking, I think they just released it last week!

@KRISWITHAK, your pictures, is that Black Rock?? We ( my best friend, FIL, and His BF) have taken a guys trip to Coeur D' Alene 4-5 times now.. We will usually play either a Spokane course or Circling Raven.. Have played Qualchan, Esmerelda, and Indian Canyon.. Great courses and fairly priced.

Yes sir! There is so much great golf here no matter what state you're in. Qualchan is one of my favorites. I went and played CDA Public last Sunday before the state shut down and it was in great shape. There something about the tree lined courses in the area that I really enjoy. Black Rock is definitely more of a resort style golf course, but I think Jim does a good job at creating ideal risk/reward golf in all of his courses.

  9. I just have to say, my experience with @GolfSub70 has been nothing less than out of this world from the time I ordered my irons to putting them in play. I have been playing Taylormade MB irons since 2012 and decided it was time to upgrade and after doing a ton of research (which is weird because i'm pretty impulsive). One thing I knew for sure was there was no way I was going to pay $1200+ for a new set that will just be old news in 6 months. The idea of DTC irons was a little intimidating, but I know my specs and felt pretty good about the security offered with the return policy. I ordered my irons March 6th (a Friday) and got a call March 8th (a sunday) mid afternoon from Sub70 to confirm my order, verify specs, ask if I wanted a hat and to thank me for my business. It took 10 days from the time I ordered my clubs to them sitting on my doorstep. I ordered the 639 forged black combo(4-6 CB, 7-PW MB) X flex KBS tour shafts, midsize TV Align grips (2 wraps bottom, 3 wraps top), +1/4 and 2 upright with no stepping. I played two rounds since putting them in the bag and I have never been happier with a set of irons. They flat out perform, feel great and are workable even in the CB. The ONLY thing I was unsure about when ordering was the amount of offset on the MB's. The CB's seem to have less offset (which I prefer) than the MB's and for me visually it was a little concerning (because I am a psycho when it comes to look) but after hitting shot after shot and seeing the consistency in ball flight and results I barely even notice. I trust every shot I stand over which is a good feeling. For myself, and I think a lot of other players, trusting the clubs to produce a consistent shot makes for a good swing with minimal thought. I will make sure and update as time goes by and more rounds are played. Snow has fallen again in the PNW where I live so it may be a week or two (ugh). One last comment, the personal touch of a hand written note from Jason thanking me for my business shows that Sub70 is doing everything they can to provide an excellent buying experience, and I appreciated it.

  10. Hey everyone,

Kris with a K here from Coeur D' Alene Idaho.

I'm Kris with a K because everyone always gets it wrong and spells it Chris so why not be up front and state it.

I started playing golf as a youngster in the Californian desert and continued through high school into college. I have been fortunate enough to play some excellent golf courses all over the country being a navy brat and playing collegiate golf.

I try my best to keep my handicap between a 2 and 5 with the long winters we have in North Idaho but sometimes it doesn't work out that way. I play most of my golf at a beautiful Jim Engh course here called Black Rock as well as a handful of other great tracks in the area, and when I get lucky the famous floating green.

Coeur D' Alene has beautiful moderately warm summers with beautiful mountains and lake views so get when the gettin's good. The other half of the year is filled with rain and the white stuff that consumes every green blade of grass turning the place into a white, frigid paradise. Luckily there are a handful of indoor facilities that have monitors loaded with some of the best courses in the country to keep your game somewhat sharp. Nothing quite compares to seeing the egg fly though.

When I'm not golfing I fill my time with fishing and motorcycle riding which are all prime options with the weather we have during the summer and fall. Most of my time though is consumed sitting in a Jeep dealership as a Used Car Manager. A rewarding job when you can break down all the barriers and stereo types we get and actually help a customer.

Mygolfspy instantly grabbed my attention due to the honesty and hard work put into making sure us as consumers have a unbiased and tested review on the ever changing equipment we have today. It's refreshing and honest and appreciated by so many of us. Being pretty fresh here I don't know any spies but am sure I'm surrounded by a few.

With every round being different and providing a different experience, its not hard to say I love golf, but more difficult to explain why. One particular scene pops into my head though when I close my eyes and think of golf.

It's a sunny summertime morning and the grass is covered in dew, I'm walking and just teed off. Being the first on the golf course every step I take flings drops of water onto my calves as I make my way to my tee shot. In the middle of the fairway I see the track of my golf ball landing, skipping and rolling in the dew and there rests my ball. It's that feeling that makes me love golf.... and of course absolutely puring an iron to 3 feet.
