  1. Played Saturday and today. Yesterday I hit the ball well off the tee but just landed many times in the rough a few feet off the fairway. The rough was incredibly thick and difficult to get out of with any solid contact. Irons were iffy on the front 9 but got hot on the back. Putter was rough the whole day. Early returns in the Scotty switch were terrible. 48 on the front and 43 on the back. I left so many strokes in the sides out. One birdie the whole day on the par 3 17 which played 215. It was a fantastic shot. Still need to work on my alignment to my target, I am having a problem with over swinging and “chickenwinging”. today was a different tale, right out of the gate I knew I had to hit fairways, 12/14 for the day. The first 3 holes though I had 8 putts with 6 on the first 2 holes from inside 15 feet. In general I believe I should have walked away with 3 pars but started off +3. I tried to be too perfect the rest of the day especially with my irons. I tried to hit everything right to the pin because my putting was so awful. 51 putts for the day. Lag putting and putts inside 5 feet were not kind to me. I’ve never burned so many edges in one round. Towards the end before fatigue set in I did start hitting my irons better, I really had the idea at the top of my swing to keep the elbow in, I finished with good results. Really solid strikes and positioning into greens. However I had 2 triples on the back, I could never get much going the whole day. 47 on the front and the back. With such a bad weekend I think the Scotty is going back in storage for the trusty Spider to return. Too hot so many fairways today without results was disheartening especially with the distance off the tee being close to 270. Going to work on irons and putting before getting back out.
  2. I would agree but I do feel that some of it is because the Scotty has an overall heavier head feeling than the spider. Could just be how the inserts feel too. I’ll let you know since I’ll be using it Saturday and Sunday during my rounds.
  3. Hit the range yesterday for a longer session. Really working on distance control with my wedges. Also worked a lot throughout the day on body alignment to target. Very productive session. Really dialed in the shorter to kid irons also. Making a change with the putter and brought out the Scotty Cameron to the putting green to get a feel for it vs the spider.
  4. Starting my driveway project tomorrow. Fixing the collapse in the storm drain. Bringing in a box because we will be about 8-9 feet deep. Going to run another pipe across to attach a downspout.
  5. Towel under the elbow to keep my elbow/arm in tight to prevent the over the top swing. Pretty cheap I would say!
  6. Got to the range today later than I wanted and I felt like I didn’t have enough time to get through everything. I was a bit rushed which showed with some poor swings and trying to muscle some shots but I was able to calm down and put it all together in the end. Really working on getting my feet to align with the target. I have found that my feet have been dictating my body position and swing path. Using alignment sticks has helped me get back to the norm stance I was used to last year. Didn’t even hit the driver since I’ve been incredibly ecstatic with how it’s performed. hope to get out to practice Thursday or Friday with the putter prior to playing this weekend
  7. Enjoy all the family time! Really appreciate all your hard work in the forum
  8. I’d like to see the names of all the players who had an agreement. I remember ready it was 15 players in the top 100. It’s really a lose lose for the tour. If they lose big names and LIV takes off it will be a slow decline and defection of more top players. If it’s even a mild success you may see the younger players who are up and coming jump for the chance at a big payday, which down the road will hurt the tours overall product. Competition is good for the viewers and markets but it hurts the singular product
  9. If you asked for the help I’m sure they director of golf would be able to give it to any of the pros. I doubt their is any secret knowledge that the players don’t know that the director would have
  10. Thinking about getting a electric cart to walk with. Father’s Day coming up may not be bad to try and slip it through
  11. Max has the look in his eye after draining that putt! He’s all business today. Ever since getting rid of the podcast he has much better on the course body language, he looks more in control than years past
  12. Talk about bad weather. So much Raina me water in the course right now. It is kind of cool to see that their are still more patrons than I would have guessed there today
  13. With a big enough group like that you are more than likely going to have factions of golfers their for fun or competition. I suppose either way works assuming that some of the guys their for socializing aren’t running up low scores.
  14. I’ll be honest playing with guys in the Ohio group from the forum has helped me the anxiety you referenced. Everyone deals with it differently. Hopefully the OP can find a laid back course with guys who just love golf. Sugar loaf social style. Doesn’t matter the clubs you play with, or your “status” just go out and enjoy the game!
  15. Changing my work schedule to 4 days a week has made it more challenging to get out as much as last year. I’m limited at this time to Thursday and the weekends. Babysitting for a day in Thursday leaves me with really just the weekends to play golf outside of light practice work at home. Hoping for longer days coming up to take advantage of the practice areas at the my club facility
  16. I was able to get out yesterday before all the rain came today. I was fortunate enough to hit the range for a few minutes prior to the round starting to work out a few swing flaws I’ve been going through. Results were really promising with my driver and irons compared to the previous first 2 weeks. Despite hitting my irons well I left myself too far from the hole and my putting wasn’t up to speed yet shooting a 47 on the front. I also went in 2x which cost me. The back was batter despite still leaving at least 4 strokes for putting I shot a respectable 43. For a grand total of 90. The course conditions didn’t help much since everything is soaked no roll and the greens aren’t holding shots well at all. I will regroup with the putter but it was good to see the irons get back on track. Really started to feel like I could take sim at some pins with confidence. Conditions were rough. Colder temp with wind. Hard to tell when to club up/down and what distances to play too.
  17. I used Arccos last year and it really helped me go from a 15 to an 8. The numbers don’t lie. Even if you think your are good at something it will show you were you need to put the work in at.
  18. That’s pretty annoying. Especially not the advice you were looking for. It hurts that it messed with the rest of the range session. Sometimes I like to keep a pair of headphones in my bag for the range for these moments. Most of the time I don’t even play music, but no one else knows that and it allows me to go about my own business!
  19. We are having the worst spring weather in NE Ohio!
  20. She’s a narcissist. Her and her husband love to play the card that the tour “is out to make them look bad, that they are the victim” unfortunately they do a good job of vilifying themselves. From the family drama, cheating during college practice rounds, to the bunker incidents sure seems like the bad publicity knows where to find Patrick and his wife
  21. Got out this weekend, it was a bit better than last weekend. Driver and wedges were pretty good and the putter has been great. Still not hitting irons very well. Lots of snap hooks but from my playing partners and own deduction I am trying to really take a bigger swing and am chicken winging my elbow promoting the over the top motion. Still shot in the 100s even though I really started to put it together in the back 9. Really wish the range would open so I could get some work to hammer out my iron swing. Already started working on shortening up my swing and have noticed slight improvement
  22. It helped me shave off about 5 strokes last year. It keeps it objective and lets you know where the spend your practice time
  23. Getting ready to rip out my driveway and have all new concrete put in. Had to use a sewer snake for my storm drain since it is collapsed. Biggest pain I’ve ever done since the locator wasn’t the most reliable. Took about 90 minutes to even get the camera head into the drain since it’s a straight 90 degree angle 10 feet deep. Hopefully I marked off the right location. Going to reattach a downspout to the storm so their isn’t a runoff going into my new driveway.
  24. The baby is here and he is roughly 8 months old at this point. Taking up a fair amount of weekend time but I do love it. Golf game has taken a small step back initially with my driver and irons. I question whether I am over swinging to make up for distance loss with wind and loss of roll out because of extremely wet conditions. My setup doesn’t feel right whatsoever so I think a lot of dry swings using the alignment sticks is in my future the next few days. on a positive note the weekly group of 3 just found their 4th players and he walks like the rest of us!
  25. One of the worst starts I could ask for this weekend. Got behind a member driven outing that was not given enough tee times. Waited 15 minutes to tee off and 5 minutes on every tee box. Played a touch over 5 hours for 16 holes. Driver was decent but not many fairways hot. Wedges and chipping were good and putting was fantastic. Irons are bad very bad. Two way kiss between a snap hook and a block fade. Sunday wasn’t much better. We moved quicker. Still didn’t hit many fairways with the driver even though I hit it well. Irons were even worse. I hit 2 greens in the the whole day. Wedges and chipping were ok. I set myself up for a good bit to hit greens and couldn’t capitalize at all. Really wore myself out at the end of the day with how poorly I played. Had I not had a few pars on the back I was thinking about taking a few weeks of to regroup. Thinking my feet and setup had a lot to do with my issues which has been the problem before
