  1. At least you were honest enough to correct the mistake. The Pro could have gone further though the situation to correct it quicker so maybe this was avoidable for improper scoring
  2. Try to find a demo program like sub70 or go to demo a few clubs at sporting goods store if you can to see what type of club head you would be interested in, forges, cavity back, hollow body, game improvement style. The combos are endless. Fortunately their are a lot of options on the secondary market from wither BST or websites like second swing.
  3. Isn’t it sort of blissful knowing that the current combo you have is the best combo compared to what you tested
  4. 1: fairways and 10 greens, I was in the bunker 6 times yesterday, and was lance wrmstrong for the day playing with one ball. The bad, I didn’t sink one putt and with the greens being hard I had a hard time holding the green even playing shots shorter with high descending angle. 42/41 for and 83. Started off 4/4 in the bunker. I was able to get out each time but it was still a wasted stroke vs being on the green or green side
  5. I was able to stick a par 3 shot to 3 inches. Divot was impeccable, too bad the greens are hard and it didn’t hold. You take the good with the bad I suppose, I keep looking for that 4 leaf clover for a little bit of luck!
  6. If it makes that big of a difference and you want to use it as your excuse sounds like you’ll have to push back in the guests. Not my style to do that and rock the boat off the bat but if it helps your case have at it
  7. I’ll obviously consider both the 223 and 225. As for feel I don’t know if I know what the true forged feel is, for me as Long as it feels like or better than my hot metals I would have no problem. Really looking to get rid off the offset, wide soles and chunkiness of my current irons. Although the size differences are minuscule from looking at mizunos website for offset, sole width, etc it’ll be interesting during my future fitting to see if I’m able to adapt. I’m trying to wait for the new JPX line to test the forged vs the mizuno pros. hoping that my distance stays the same, not really looking for any huge distance gains. I just have watched the TXG videos and was surprised at the low spin, but the other part of that is I am a high spin player so it may be helpful.
  8. Xbox as of right now. Although I could be swayed depending on which new console will be easier to get my hands on during the winter!
  9. Does anyone have feedback that purchased or had in depth fittings on the 225? I’ve scoured the thread pretty good and see that a lot of people went with the 223. I know they won players distance this year and wanted to hear feedback from those that purchased or had in depth fittings? I’ve done some research about people making them a degree or so weaker to increase spin, especially since mizuno gave it less bounce to account for these possible change, so I’d love to hear everyone feedback
  10. Working on staying inside of the ball at the range with my irons. Focusing on slow tempo while keeping my elbow inside. Strong tendency to get over the top with a slap pull and when I stay inside it really helps me make a solid strike with a nice launch and landing descent
  11. Was up in Wisconsin for vacation and make some cool purchases at Erin hills, polo and a quarter zip and another polo at whistling straits. Both top tier pro shops. It’s a good thing I was being budget conscious or else I could have gone way overboard
  12. Quality of service was definitely stated for the tip I just thought it would be easier to throw down the suggested amount especially with talking about green fees and caddies fees. Sorry it sounds that you had a bad experience in the past. I can only speak in what I saw and many caddies were double bagging with each patrons individual bag. It’s really about the experience with rounds like those. If you play well that’s the cherry on the top
  13. Currently on vacation in the northern portion of Wisconsin so on our way up from the Chicago area me and my wife stopped at Erin hills to pick up some merchandise. Dana tasting looking facility but really located in the middle of nowhere. They have some cabins on the property, but I overheard and was talking to an associate in the pro shop, roughly $250 for a round plus caddie fees and tipping around $60 per person. Seemed pretty modest for a top course. The next stop took us to whistling straits where I almost fell out of a chair, I know their is probably a stay and play package with Koehler but it was $650 a round for mid morning to afternoon golf. You could get out early when their is likely fog for $400 or after 5 for $270. Doesn’t include anything related to caddies. Totally crazy. I’m hoping they are just taking advantage of the fact the Ryder cup was just there. This was all for the whistling course. I will say the views at Erin hills and whistling straits were stunning from what we were able to see. Whistling straits compared to Erin hills will let the public eat at the restaurant which was a nice treat with a view
  14. Can’t wait for the next time!
  15. Hit up the Peter muller store in Chicago. Got a sweet transfusion polo and a really nice quarter zip hoodie for fall golf. The sizes really work well so it’s a treat to get to the store vs online shopping. Plus the Father’s Day cooler bag was a nice touch even if I spent a little more than I wanted !
  16. Great execution out of the box. No doubles are huge. Plus it seems like you played penalty free golf. All things that are necessary for lower scores
  17. Really got after it over the weekend. 12 fairways and 11 GIR with 36 putts. The bad 5 3 putts. Mostly all due to the fact of poor positioning from the pin. 41/41 for 82 on the day. I had a chance to get a birdie in 18 but I over though my approach shot and caught it to soft landing it in the creek. Only ball lost on the day.. overall things are trending to the point where I’m making mistakes but still playing really good
  18. I like the idea of using a cheaper set of clubs and then getting lessons. Allow some time to go by to see where your game goes and make a newer purchase from there. Golf equipment is at a all time high price and their still are back orders on equipment so you could be waiting depending on what you order vs a used set that is right there
  19. Market place. Second swing, play it again sports, sideline swap, or you could try callaway pre owned or another site like second swing and use it for a gift card for a future purchase
  20. Really have the itches for the mizuno pro 225. Scheduling a fitting for the beginning of fall. Really looking forward to see what will show in my next fitting since my swing has evolved a lot over 2 years
  21. Not able to make it to the range so I’ve been slinging my body to random objects at work and using my alignment stick to check lol. We have a lot of mirrors in the PT gym so at lunch I’ll be going over my swing and arm position during the backswing
  22. 39/46 for an 85 yesterday. Round was a bit of a mixed bag. I only hit 6 fairways and 6 GIR with 34 putts. Not sure if that says more about the state of my game for the positives or things that need to be cleaned up. Pleased with my scoring but not pleased with the mistakes I’m making off the tee and with my irons. Really hard time making quality iron shots and on the back 9 lately I’ve lost my driver frequently. Gonna need to take a step back and re evaluate as these are typically my strong points
  23. Imperial hats are very good quality. I also like to generic titleist hats. The white and gray are really easy to clean. I did find that you have to be careful with the blue as I’ve had it turn orange in spots before
  24. Any points they get for the OWGR give them credibility. Every player they take from the tour gives them more credibility. When you give someone an inch and they keep taking and taking after a while that inch looks like a few feet. The longer it goes on the more the tour should worry. As long as LIV has money their will be offers and temptation. The days of thinking you can wait this out and it will be over probably aren’t happening. The Tour needs an off-season. It could open up legal action against the tour if they allow players to play in other events but not the LIV. It’s a slippery slope, but they really need to find a way to put money and more time back into the big players pockets. I think if they figure that out it eliminates the attractiveness of LIV
