What’s Being Tested?

For this testing opportunity, we will need six golfers to test, review, and keep the newly released Sundogs eyewear! Selected testers will receive two pairs of Sundogs eyewear with the choice of several models. One pair will include the TrueBlue Polarized Plus lenses, while the other will be non-polarized to help compare and contrast the difference between the two lenses. Sundogs has a long history and reputation, and we want you to put these new innovations to the test! These options will include the ACE, BILL 83, and GENIUS Sundog models.

Unfortunately, I am only interested in testing these sunglasses if the company offers models for those of us with larger noggins.

My hat size is a minimum of a 7 1/2, most of that includes a wide face.

If I purchase normal sunglasses, they usually break near the center of the nose-piece after a few rounds.

I also suffer pain around the ears after 2 hours or so.

🫤  🙄  🙁  😵‍💫   🫤  🙄  🙁  😵‍💫   🫤  🙄  🙁  😵‍💫

Their EXT line is for larger faces. Some of the models listed for testing have EXT versions as well. So check to see which style they want tested has it.

Very interested in this. Have used Costa del Mar glasses for fishing for years but found golf balls harder to find with them. Found some Oakley glasses last year non polarized that are much better. Wondering if it is the tint or the polarization that makes a difference. After lasic surgery I am more sensitive to very bright light so sunglasses are a must. Good luck to all.

Hi @Hamviper, love the comment and thanks for sharing! Polarization on the course in itself can be a "polarizing" debate. Part of our test is to offer a pair of polarized vs. non-polarized for our testers. There are certainly pros and cons to each and some of it boils down to personal preference. Glare reduction can be a key positive but low light conditions may impact or reduce overall visibility.

We will be offering a selection from our new for 2024 TrueBlue Polarized PLUS Collection along with a style from our TrueBlue Collection to have our testers decide! Regardless of your choice, our TrueBlue technology is truly a game-changer!

Good luck in joining the test and thanks for the comment!! 👍😎

Just had cataract surgery and really need sunglasses!  I spend some of the early spring in LasVegas where my daughter lives and the other time in Kansas.  Dr. recommended sunglasses!  The Billy 83 would be perfect.  Couldn’t find the Genius the web site, so I don’t know the style.  Anyway Billy 83, would be my choice.

Hi @70445, thanks for the comment. And good eye already doing your research on the web. Many of the styles we will be including in the test are brand-new 2024 styles, some of which have not been made publicly available yet... but that will change soon. Stay tuned, our 2024 styles will be online in both Canada and the USA shortly. At sundogeyewear.ca, many of our 2024 program is already visible. The USA website will soon be live once the product is received. Safe to say the Spies are getting the first crack at these styles!!

With Blue eyes, sensitivity is the Achilles heel while golfing.
it’s not just the sunny days either, bright overcast proves to be equally challenging.
I have better than 20/20 eyesight, but a lot of lenses just don’t cut it and make golf more difficult as they work well in one situation but not another.
Would love to see if these are an all-around lense that works for the entire course and varying weather conditions we face in the Pacific Northwest.

TrueBlue and Polarized Lenses:

TrueBlue:

  • TrueBlue lenses use patented technology inspired by nature's defenses to defend against blue light.
  • They incorporate Melanin to absorb blue light before it reaches the eyes, limiting its impact on the retina.
  • Main Benefits:
    • Enhanced Visual Acuity: TrueBlue lenses are engineered to elevate visual acuity, allowing for sharper and clearer vision. The advanced technology in these lenses minimizes distortions, improving the clarity of details and fine elements in the surrounding environment.
    • Improved Contrast: These lenses contribute to improved contrast perception, accentuating the differences between light and dark areas. By effectively managing the intensity of light, TrueBlue technology enhances the visibility of objects, textures, and contours, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
    • Maintained Color Balance: One of the standout features of TrueBlue lenses is their ability to maintain a natural and balanced color spectrum. Unlike some tinted lenses that may distort colors, TrueBlue lenses provide true-to-life color perception. This ensures that the vibrant and subtle hues of the environment are preserved, enhancing the overall visual experience.

Polarized Lenses in Golf:

  • Pros:
    • Glare Reduction: Reduces glare from surfaces like water hazards and sand traps.
    • Improved Contrast: Enhances contrast for better visibility.
    • Eye Comfort: Reduces eye strain caused by bright sunlight and glare.
    • Better Depth Perception: Improves judgment of distances, crucial in golf.
  • Cons:
    • Difficulty Reading LCD Screens.
    • Challenges in Low-Light Conditions.
    • Cost.
    • Personal Preference.

Sundog Polarized Advantage:

While there are many polarized lenses offered on the market, the performance of each can vary significantly. Sundog's Premium Polarized lenses set themselves apart, offering a superior solution. Unlike many sunglasses on the market that take shortcuts by applying polarized film to the outer layer of the lens—resulting in faster deterioration and susceptibility to scratches—our Sundog Premium Polarized lenses are crafted differently. We achieve this by placing the polarized film between two of our SD-C7 Polycarbonate lenses, creating a unique polarized lens.

Main Benefits:

  • Even Polarization: Ensuring high-quality polarized lenses with consistent polarization across the entire lens surface. Any irregularities or misalignments in polarization can lead to distortions or reduced effectiveness in blocking glare.
  • Material Quality: We use the highest quality materials for the polarizing film, resulting in superior polarization performance and glare reduction. Inferior materials may degrade over time or fail to provide consistent polarization.
  • Manufacturing Precision: Our lenses undergo a meticulous manufacturing process with a focus on detail, ensuring they maintain precise polarization and optical quality.
  • Durability: The durability of polarized lenses is crucial for long-term effectiveness. To maximize durability, our film is expertly layered between two lens sheets, offering enhanced protection against scratches and damage.

We thank you for being a part of this exciting opportunity! We look forward to your involvement in the tester's wanted program.

Best Regards,

Team Sundog 😎

What about prescriptions? Do these tester items accommodate that? TY

I wear sunglasses when I play.  But I’m in need of prescription lenses as well.  I went to the Sundogs and it doesn’t specify making prescription lenses.  I would love to test this, not sure I’m going to be able to sign up.

Hi @Sundog Eyewear  I love the idea of golf specific sun glasses.  I unfortunately have a “high” prescription for glasses.  I wear a pair of polarized when I play, but they are brown tinted.  If you plan on making prescription available please reach out I would be the first to buy.

Friggin awesome! I currently wear Tifosi golf sunglasses, but I'm really liking the styles y'all have! After playing around on your site, the prices are reasonable too unlike some of the other brands out there. Hopefully I get picked to test, I would definitely be thorough and make sure the job was done right!

I'm in on this one!

I've got to have quality sunglasses when I play!

Looking forward to testing against my current Oakleys.

I couldn't have said that any differently as I have only worn Oakleys playing sports growing up! Using Oakley is like having sun protection for the eyes and not knowing your wearing them. Love to compare the difference and I'm looking for new ones now!!!
