project x parallel tip shaft question

Hey ya'll, 

 

Been awhile since I've been on here, been lurking and reading, but not chiming. Any way... I've been thinking of dipping my toe into club building and I have a project in mind, but need some guidance. 

 

I have a set of Project X (original px) parallel tip shafts and can't find any tip trimming instructions for them. I remember reading awhile back that project X parallel shafts don't require tip trim since they aren't blanks like other shafts. I got these on a smoking deal and would prefer not to render them useless. 

 

Also would it be best to start this journey with a heat gun vs a torch for club head removal? I've got a few old clubs I can experiment with.

If they're already installed in iron heads (?) the chanes are you don't need any tip trim if they're built to flex.

PX were originally sold in discrete sets that didn't need any tip trim (even in .370" parallel) as they are a constant weight shaft.

6850 41.5-37 Project X 5.0 - Parallel
6868 41.5-37 Project X 5.5 - Parallel
6860 41.5-37 Project X 6.0 - Parallel
