Training Aids - Do I Have a Problem?!

Recommended Posts

Ummm, so, is this just me?  🤣

TA1.jpg.a93ccb752265946508dc7c66409dfa6d.jpg

1.  Orange Whip

2. The Stack System

3. Tour Striker Planemate

4.  Tour Striker Smart Ball

5.  Power Fan

6.  Skilz Impact Bag

7.  Eyeline Putting Mirror

8.  Force Pedals

In all honestly, the impact bag and the force pedals aren't getting much use.  The Force Pedals, I probably should use more often, but I just find them awkward and kind of regret the purchase.  The Orange Whip I don't really train with much (maybe I should), but it's an excellent warm up device.  The Stack System I use three times a week, and the Smart Ball I try to use every range session for a while.  The putting mirror I use daily, and the PlaneMate a couple times a week.  The PlaneMate is one I definitely should probably use more but I just find a hard time making a habit out of it.  And, the PowerFan...that was actually recommended by my instructor to help me ingrain the feeling of re-hinging the club on the follow-through.

So, really, have I gone off the deep end on training aids, or are some of you right there with me?  Post 'em if you got 'em.

Ha!  Well seeing that robust list, and your handicap, makes me feel better.

I do have a large putting green that those aids in the picture are all sitting on but didn't list it.  I have the alignment sticks too, and a VoiceCaddie portable launch monitor, that I didn't take credit for either.  Oh, and the Tour Tempo training app on my phone counts too I suppose.

I had 33 years to accumulate. We are always looking for that magic device to give us that ah ha moment. Other than my outside practice areas, for me the breakthrough was the combination of the Optishot 2 for club path and face angle, the Mevo for ball information ( spin, accurate distance for gapping purposes ) and the Orange Whip for lag and power. It also helped in increasing my backswing height by the weighted ball causing stretching at the top.

The rest off the stuff might have helped some early on in my game but nothing really stands out as I would buy them again.

Good golly, I am to ashamed to list all my training aids.  Has to be in the neighborhood of 35-50.  You would be hard pressed to find major aids that I didn't have.  I finally just said no to myself about the Hank Haney Launch Deck.   I am so proud!!! LOL

Plenty of time to change your mind about the launch deck
