Popular Post GolfSpy_BEN
There’s no fool proof way to get picked, but doing an unofficial review on equipment you already own is a good way to show the forum staff what you are capable of. It doesn’t have to be clubs, it can be shoes, training aid, push cart, a golf bag, your favorite ball, etc. etc. There are also templates available, for you to use, so that you can get used to the way the testing reviews are structured. echoing what Chris and Jason said above, the best thing you can do is be involved and seek out the topics that interest you. Good Luck! sirchunksalot
I would say you are off to a good start in the fact you have a profile picture and have your player profile filled out. It's also worth repeating what Ben said about getting involved in the community. The moderators have been extremely transparent in this aspect, you want to get picked, get involved. We have a wonderful community here and we like to get to know people who share our love for the game. Popular Post GolfSpy_BNG
I’d say Chris/Jason/Ben have hit the nail on the head. The link to the want to be a tester thread posted by Jason is the best place to start. We try to be as open and forthcoming as we possibly can be to all members when it comes to testing. A lot of people see these as giveaways or something random and I can assure you it couldn’t be further from the truth. As a staff we do our best to select the members we feel fit the type of player the OEM’s are looking for while at the same time trying to get a range of different styles of players to give a full spectrum review. Also know what you are signing up for. For example a 20 hdcp that struggles with approach shots is never gonna be chosen to test blades. We have chosen plenty of first time testers and unofficial reviews are great to show your ability but speaking for myself here, being an active member and participation carry for weight for me. By that I don’t mean 10-20 posts a day are necessary, but a consistent, quality interaction with this great community. revkev
@Matt hogan - These are all good answers including from a couple of our Mods. I'd say that at this time of the year doing an unofficial review of something would be a great way to gain some name recognition and demonstrate that you are willing to do the work. Also the intro would be helpful for zeroing in on what might be a good product for you to test. I know one of our mods mentioned that reviews aren't give aways. I've done a lot of reviews, it's absolutely true. I even occasionally do some review writing on the side, under a different name, and am compensated for that. The compensation of equipment to keep, if it remains in use or the bag, is about equal to the work you will put in for a good review. Reviews are fun but a bit stressful if you do them justice. Good luck, I'm sure your number will come up soon enough. Also be careful what you sign up for because you just might get picked for it!
