ES 16 Launch Monitor...

Recommended Posts

just got an email on Ernest Sports' ES16 Tour.  Looks interesting enough.   It shows all the data like Skytrak.  The problem is it has the word "Tour".   So I assume, it will be pricey? (just like GC2 and Flightscope)   Any preview on this? (what data will be provided?)  Does anyone know the MSRP for this when it's released?

  • 5 weeks later...

I think ES16 is out now.... does anyone any info on this personal LM?

It's not officially launched yet, will be at the PGA show.

Here's what I've heard so far...

  • $4k for the unit
  • $300 for "software" which includes 1 practice hole.  2-3 additional practice holes are planned to added later along with a driving range
  • $300 software fee is waived if pre-ordered before 1/29
  • Units expected to ship in March/April timeframe
  • Full simulator software would be extra and not sure what the cost would be or what software would work

So bottom line is wait until the PGA show for official launch and more info

$300 for "software"? what kind of software are we talking about?  Simulator type?  I just need the reading on LA, ball speed, etc.  Do I need to buy the "software"?

IMO 4K is abit above my budget.  It's not for personal use anymore for that kind of money.

I used to really want to own a launch monitor. I've even come close to pulling the trigger a few times and decided to sleep on it. Glad I did. I've pretty much decided that I really don't have any use for one at home. Pretty sure it would be a novelty and before long just left sitting around. Especially after me and all my buddies had some fun with it. There are several clubs in the area that have built fitting/training centers and I can make an appointment and go there when ever I need too. For instance I can rent LM time at one club I've used before for $50/hr. including the Pro. I last used one club's LM when I was trying to decide on keeping a new Wishon Driver. $50 bucks of LM time saved me $300.

in the long run, it's cheaper than going to a driving range every day..... I already have an indoor hitting bay with a computer ready for a LM.    I used to have a P3proswing long time ago but it only gives swing speed and face angle data.  Plus for drivers, you have to use a special tape on the sole of the driver.

And regarding, flightscope cheaper than these new LMs.  I have been checking ebay since christmas.  There were several auctions on used flightscopes.  The starting bids were $6000.

Super. Sometime last year I found a Flightscope on eBay and had a couple of email exchanges with the owner/seller. Looked like a great deal. At that time I decided to contact Flightscope and ask some questions concerning the model I'd found. Flightscope suggest I get the serial number from the seller and they would look it up and provide me the history of the unit and any repairs it might have under gone. If any.Guess what? I contacted the seller again and requested the serial number and never heard from him again. Soon after the Flightscope vanished from eBay. It was a scam.

Buyer beware.

yeah things like that happen.  But ebay got somekind money back if the item is not received within some period after the shipping date and it happened to me once or twice.  Actually I bought a freq analyzer and the seller sent me a broken one.   I reported this to ebay and I got a full refund.   just some sign of scam, the seller is very slow in answering messages and very short in answering messages, like "no idea", "it's new".  without no explanation, it some signs the seller has no idea what they are selling or if the item does exists.  if the answer is helpful and when you asked for a picture, the seller sends it right away, it's a sign that's the seller actually has the actual item.
