Finally got back to the course on Monday after vacationing the prior week. I was able to walk 9 and shot a good 38 (+2). Off the tee was ok, but my irons were off the mark, hitting only 2/9 greens, with one resulting in a birdie. Contact was good, I was just not hitting where I thought I was aiming. I think I could benefit from some alignment and setup work to get the ball started on my intended line throughout the bag.
With the terrible approach play, I managed only 11 putts to keep the score from getting off the rails, and I only made 1 putt over 6 feet. I have been working on my chipping and pitching, using lower loft to get the ball rolling sooner on chips, and I have been working to shallow the club on pitches to get better contact and more loft. Seems to be working, for now.

Shot 43 this morning with a triple on the first hole, unlike other times I just let it go and moved on. I birdied the last hole and my partner and I won by one. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Played my first Vet Golf Assoc. tourney this last weekend; which was also my first time playing an actual tournament that wasn't a scramble.  Fairly short but tight course, and I sucked.  7 penalties, only a couple GIR; but did get a birdie.  53 on the front, 47 on the back for a nice even 100.

It's been a while since I last posted here is a little update.
Played in a outing my team shot a 65 and came in fourth place only 4 strokes back of the winning team. It was a fun time and for a good cause. I struggled off of the tee, but my short game was helping us along the way hopefully next year we can bring home first place.
Last few rounds I have been hitting too far behind the ball which is a tad annoying but I'm slowly trying to figure it out and make adjustments. I'm still also looking for a ball that suits me and that doesn't break the bank.
In my last round I started off hot thought i was going to have a career day, the first five holes my game felt complete felt like a tour pro getting up and down from bunkers and getting 300+ yards out of my driver. I than came back down to earth my driver struggled when the pace of play slowed down then I wasn't totally there mentally. It was still a fun day on the course even though my expectations died down just got to keep working on other aspects of my game and they are being mental.
Since my last round I have finished two audio books. I like the audio so i can listen on the range or driving to the course to calm my nerves before a round. I listened to the Four Foundations of Golf by Jon Sherman and Golf is Not a Game of Perfect by Bob Cullen and Dr. Bob Rotella. I enjoyed both books it gave me a different perspective into the game of golf and my game personally. I highly recommend them even if you aren't struggling with your golf game and just want something to read. I will definitely relisten to them at some point but would love any other suggestions on books I should try.
I know I haven't been playing this game long, but it has definitely helped me through some hard times, and I have fell in love with this game. I'm hoping to keep making strides I would love to get down to a 10hc by the time October hits that has been my goal this year just got to put myself through the test and get myself in uncomfortable situations and play harder courses or join a league.
I'm sorry for the long post but I do appreciate anyone who does read it through and has and advice or just wants to say hi lol.

I was able to get 9 holes in last night after getting to the course around 6 PM. This was my third time out with the new driver, and it seems to be coming along. I hit it very solid seeing my normal ball flight, but I still need to work on starting line. I finished at 41 (+5) after shanking wedges on 8 and 9 from the center of each fairway. Apart from those two shots, my putting stats have been terrible to say the least my last few rounds. I finished with 18 or more putts for the 3rd time in the last 36 holes. Realistically, though the 2-putts are not bad, but I am not hitting it close when I hit the GIR, and in last nights case was not having legitimate shots for up and down.
I was glad to be able to play, but it will be at least 10 days before I can play again. We are heading on vacation for the first time as a family of 5.
Good luck to all those playing today and this weekend!

Played my usual 9 holes last week on Friday. The course was dryer than expected after the flooding experienced on Wednesday night into Thursday morning, but the wind was a different story. Seems as though only a couple of times out this year the wind hasn’t been a major factor.
A couple of loose shots on par 5s resulted in bogeys and not getting putts to the hole, otherwise a good round.

9 Hole men's night last night.  We always incorporate some sort of game in it.  Last night was least putts.
So my strategy was to just miss the green, chip it close and 1 putt.  I did that to perfection on 4 holes, failed on 2 and left a long putt (well 2 putt).
Finished with 14 putts, tied with 2 others.  Had a putt off and lost...  was a fun night anyways.
The putt off is with a 1970s flat putter, and a 1980's Titleist ball.  Everyone has to use them for the putt off. 😀

League Wednesday was a mixed bag. Had some good shots had some bad shots. I kept expectations low as I haven’t played with my clubs in about 2-2.5 weeks. I say that because the round I played with @Byrnzee he was nice enough to let me play off his bag to save me the hassle of traveling with clubs and a kid.
I ended up shooting a 43 which I wasnt happy with but also okay with considering it could’ve been worse. Started +5 thru 3 going double, double, bogey. Turned things around with a birdie on the par 5 13th and unfortunate 3 putt par on the par 5 14th after sticking a 205 yard 4-iron into the wind cutting a blind corner over trees to about 27ft. It was definitely the shot of my night. I Played the last 6 holes +2.
round stats: 4/6 FIR, 4/9 GIR, 16 putts
I was trying out the odyssey 7s putter this week and made some decent putts but think I’m going to stick with the Scotty for now. Hoping I scared it into performing a little better.
    Until next time!

Local 9-hole league debut today. Very nice weather and the course is in great condition.

Other than a round in Italy with rental clubs 11 days ago, I haven't been on a golf course or fully swung a club on a range for almost 8 weeks due to injury. So I went into the round with low expectations.
Par 36, shot 46. Two triples, one double, two bogeys, four pars. Blow up holes were due in part to pulling a tee shot into water on one and hitting a 205 yard approach shot bullet straight, but aimed a few degrees too far left and bouncing over a low wall into a driveway (out of bounds) after fatting my tee shot. Ha ha. Latter would have landed pin high if straight.
Anyway, I hit sufficient solid shots to give hope for the near future and I putted very well from within 10ft. Just a shame I only hit 4 GIR. My 4 pars were my 4 GIRs and were the two Par 3s and two Par 5s. For some reason I didn't play the Par 4s well at all. Go figure...
    Onwards and upwards!
