  1. just added a 2023 sheet to the Google Doc
  2. First and foremost, great to hear that your father is doing well!
  3. Here are my 2023 goals 1. #Lose23in23 - clocked in at 222 lbs on 1/1/23 2. Be present and enjoy the rounds/company 3. Swing it like Nelly - I have a tendency to take too hard of a swing. I play better when it's a smooth 80-90% swing 4. Lower Scoring Average - finished 2022 with a 18 hole average of 81 (it was a rough start to the season) 5. Break 70 - broke par for the first time in 2022 6. Birdie every hole at the home course - got 17/18 in 2022 7. Hole in One - still looking for that first ace
  4. What are you 2023 golf and non-golf related goals?
  5. End of Season Update 1. play more - joined a local CC and played over double the number of rounds as 2021 2. practice more/better - nope, any free time I had, I went out on the course 3. lower my handicap into the 3's - spent some time at 3.7, ended the season at 4.5 4. break par on a round 18 - shot a 71 (-1) with a back 9 31 (-5) 5. hole in one - came close a time or two, but no luck Bonus - after joining a local CC, I wanted to birdie every hole - got 17/18 with an eagle
  6. How did everyone finish up? I got 17/18 with one eagle....so infuriating close!
  7. Unbelievable story - saw that Scott (PGA player) is inviting them out for the practice round and taking them to dinner. Great gesture! Apparently Augusta never updated the address for Scott (PGA) from the last time he made the Masters. Back then, Scott (PGA) owned a business, which happened to be a few blocks away from Scott's (not PGA) vacation house. Scott (PGA) no longer owns that business so the post office just sent it to the "Scott Stallings" that had an address nearby. What are the chances?!?
  8. Absolutely love the coloring of this line. I'm finally getting fitted for a driver, 3 wood, and hybrid/5 wood/7 wood/driving iron in a few weeks. I was planning on going with clubs from last year's line to save some money, but these look real tempting!
  9. Pumped to have him back on the channel! I'm much more inclined to watch with him swinging the clubs
  10. The only one I listen to regularly is No Laying Up. I am subscribed to Rick Shiels, Shotgun Start, and Erik Anders Lang as well, but don't always get a chance to listen to them. I'll have to add a few of the others commented to my list
  11. I bench the driver a few times a year. I roll with my 3-wood off the tee. I did just pick up the new Taylormade Stealth 2 iron. Lose some distance, but much more accurate/consistent so I'll take it.
  12. The only tournaments I will make sure I watch are the 4 majors and The Players. The rest all depends on my schedule and who is contending.
  13. Mid-Season Update: 1. already played more rounds of 18 than all of last year thanks to joining a local cc 2. can count on one hand how many times I've hit the range. I've opted for playing anytime I have the free time 3. handicap is starting to trend in the right direction, took a while to get used to the tougher course 4. broke par for the first time on July 9th! 71 (-1) with a back 9 31 (-5) 5. been pretty close a couple times this year, but still aceless Goal I added since joining the CC - birdie or eagle every hole on the course. So far I have 11 holes checked off - 10 birdies, 1 eagle
  14. That's awesome - very impressive!
  15. I have a pair of the Adidas CODECHAOS sport spikeless and Callaway Coronado v2 spikeless. I'd recommend both
  16. For most rounds, I play the Vice Pro Plus. Not as durable, but at 1/2 the price, they get the job done. If you wait for the buy 5 dozen, get 1 free deal that they do a few times a year, it comes out to about $25-27/dozen after tax and shipping. For special rounds, I'll break out a sleeve of ProV1x. Typically get a dozen for my birthday and Christmas.
  17. Over the weekend, our trip to play 36 at The Links at Gettysburg was cancelled for the second time this summer. Instead, we drove over to Canton. Friday night, we went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which is always a nice time. On Saturday, we had a very, very early round at Tannenhauf GC. Shot a 77 (+5, 37/40) with no birdies. Solid muni course, but very tight. Everyone is on top of each other so you're playing dodgeball at times. Greens were rolling nicely. We then drove over to The Quarry to have lunch on their patio. In the afternoon, I finally got to play The Quarry. I have been wanting to play there for a few years now. It is a very nice course. The condition was a little rough in a few areas due to recent storms, but I will 100% play it again. After shooting a front 9 40 (+4), I shot a back 9 31 (-5) with 5 birdies. Easily my best 9 and it was my first time breaking par! Also dug a tick out of my leg with a tee. My buddy found a few ticks crawling on him throughout the round as well so be aware if you get the chance to golf there. To celebrate, we stayed and had dinner on the patio. As nice of a course it is, the food is even better! The driver was used 0 times all day.
  18. Really like this challenge! I started tracking this when I joined a local CC this year. It always gives you something to grind for even when you may not be playing well.
  19. Pushed my drive into the right rough. Not the best of lies so laid up short of the bunkers. Drained the approach for an eagle!
  20. About a year ago, I was paired with a guy who used an extremely short putter. It had to be under 2'. It made my back hurt just watching him putt.
  21. As long as it's consistent, it doesn't bother me and most should be able to block it out
  22. Driver - been slowly losing it over the last two weeks and fully lost it (hello two way miss) on Monday. I think I have officially hit the part of the season where I bench the driver and strictly go 3-wood off the tee.
  23. I have a few pairs of polarized sunglasses from Shady Rays - can't beat the price, especially if you are one who breaks/loses sunglasses. I don't wear them while swinging/putting, but have them on the rest of the time.
  24. I roll with 5 PW (45 - P790) AW (50 - P790) 52/56/60 (RTX4) When I got the P790s, the 4 iron overlapped my hybrid while creating a large gap between AW and 56 so it's a necessity. I've thought about getting a driving iron or seeing the distances on a new hybrid and going 52/58, but I will most likely stick with this for the summer.
  25. If I'm playing well: 0 If I'm not: 1-3 The course can dictate that number too
