What are your initial thoughts on the PuttOut AirBreak? Been looking at getting one for sometime but haven't taken the leap yet. Looks great, enjoy! 🔥

I have played the Sub70 286 wedge at 50* and the JB Full Groove 54* & 60* for a couple years. That 286 wedge was a go to for me from just about anywhere but the bunkers. The JBFG were so great, especially when I needed to open the face. Lots of confidence with the full face. They also feel great being a soft forged steel.

I posted about this in another topic, going to move it to here in equipment!

I played in the State AM at Bellerive a few weeks ago now. Made a DRASTIC change the week before. Took my 3 wood out of the bag and put a Ping Max 10K with a 3 wood length shaft in for a second option off the tee. I would HIGHLY recommend anybody out there try’s this. I don’t think it would have been possible to hit much straighter than I did that week! 💯🔥

the bank account has been screaming at me... but making some major upgrades this year. Last week picked up Mizuno Pro 243's and the Callaway Ai Smoke. Revamped my wedges last month through Sub70's July  4th sale. Next up new carry bag and then hopefully done for a while.

picked up this beauty the other day...
couldn't get the Ai Smoke to work at all... different shafts, different settings, different etc...
so we are going with the Titleist GT3 with a Mistubishi Tensi 1K Black 65 X-Stiff set in D2 with the weight in H2 and 45" a try... been crushing it and able to control flight and trajectory...

A PGA SuperStore opened recently by me so I went to check it out. Didn’t intend on buying a new putter today, but here we are. Tried a bunch of putters, but kept coming back to this guy just really like how it lines up.

Well it finally arrived a few days ago but unknown to me  my wife signed for it and hid it from me. As it was suppose to be a Father’s Day present. I was given it tonight so here it is. My custom designed Soto TM putter.  Those on here from Australia and follow the NRL the maroon is for my beloved Manly Sea Eagles  who I might add won tonight against the Bulldogs

Beautiful course, especially that last picture.
I've been playing great golf recently too, and I think it is in large part down to what you've just said - don't stress! To keep myself in a good frame of mind throughout my round I always remind myself that i'm in a beautiful place, playing golf, in the sun... it could be worse... In fact it can't really get much better - regardless of what I shoot!

I use Swing U. I've used Grint and others in the past and have kept using Swing U. $59 a year. There is one step above this where you can watch training videos but I stopped doing this last year.

Can track club distances, keeps up with stats, strokes gained, handicap, all you would expect plus there's green heat maps which I've found useful on newer courses.

My game has improved due to equipment changes. First I purchased the Ai Smoke driver, I'm hitting more fairways. I switched balls to Chrome Tour X and gained more distance. I bought a Spider and I'm sinking more putts especially within the 10' range and my average proximity to the hole has really improved. I bought Vokey SM9 wedges on sale and I'm getting up and down more often. I took out a hybrid and a 3 wood and added the 3 and 4 U505 driving irons, the shot dispersion is much tighter. This week I bought the new Ai 300's, I've only played 2 rounds thus far and I've been to the range once. They look awesome, play well, feel great and my touch around the greens  now, with chipping and bump and runs is on the money. These Apex Ai 300's are workable as well, they absolutely blow the T-200's away. Not kidding! See my photo attached, Poppa's got a brand new bag!

Pretty much all golf courses are beautiful places to be at! So, I totally agree that it can be a lot worse! And for a recap, after a total of 80 holes without a double bogey, it came, and they came in numbers! I had 2 doubles and one triple in the last 5 holes yesterday. Golf is weird... and wonderful

I too tried the GT2 / 3 / 4....Every shaft combo I tried with the 3 and 4 each still stunk, but as soon as I got the +2 gram weight in the GT2 and a Graphite Design Tour AD-VF 6 S (stiff) shaft...now THAT was money.  290 carry easily and some where over that.  320 wasn't out of the question for rollout either...it can't arrive soon enough!  Shipping 09-06 or so I hear...

Gravenor got a reaction from GG194 in How Much Should Visual Appeal Matter?
@Overspark07 I have the exact same issue with my driver. I still play a 2011 Nike Pro Ltd Edition having bought the driver nearly TEN years ago 😂
I completely agree with the visual appeal dilemma. I just can't take that thing out of the bag. The compact head shape and no-nonsense crown with no alignment has me in a choke hold, and almost no manufacturers, with the exception of Titleist, make anything that suits my eye down by the ball.
At the end of the day if you look down at a golf club and don't get that feeling of confidence or comfort, the chances are you will convince yourself the club isn't for you before you have even hit it. Having said that, it doesn't hurt to test it anyway. What's the worst that can happen?

Gravenor got a reaction from Dweed in What/How Did You Practice Today?
Practiced for about 1.5 hours today, all focused towards chipping and pitching around the green.
Hit some simple pitch shots with my 56° to warm up. Followed up by some bunker practice and short sided practice (over a bunker to a pin tucked short right). Then worked from my lob wedge down to my 8-iron, hitting a range of different chip, pitch and bump-and-run shots from different lies and angles to all of the different flag positions.
I must admit I have always been the "just pull a lob wedge" guy. Regardless of lie, factors or circumstances, my decision making rarely changed. I couldn't believe how accurate I was hitting bump-and-run PW's, 9-irons and 8-irons! Always seemed like a boring way to play the game when I was younger, but I can definitely see my scores drastically improving using these types of shots more. Everything felt very natural today - struck the ball well and hit my landing position more often than not... even if the practice "green" is more like a fairway!

Spent todays session hitting about 100 balls, focusing on keeping the club wide and closed during takeaway. One of my biggest faults and bad habits that I always fall back into is getting flippy with the wrists during my takeaway, bringing the club way too far inside the plane and ending up in a very shallow position at the top of my backswing. This causes the arms to "get stuck", so to speak, when you begin the transition into the downswing.

My strike pattern improved significantly, and this drill always helps smooth out my tempo. I always lose ball speed and yardage when I use this drill, but i'm more than happy to make that sacrifice when my strike pattern and shot shaping increases so significantly.
Spent the rest of the session working on some alignment issues with my wedges.
All-in-all very successful range session. ⛳

This happened just yesterday, and me and my brother thought it was hilarious.
Picture the scene. We are playing a two-ball better ball format. Hole 3.
The tee shot was poor to say the least. My brother put a 3-Wood out of bounds right, and I topped a 4-Wood along the floor, luckily rolling about 100 yards down the cart path, across the bridge and over the water. (I know, glamorous stuff).
We took relief from the cart path, dropping into thick rough. The sun was low, and we are hitting directly into it, so our eyes were squinting and it was hard to see where the green was.
Just to quickly preface this, as of about two weeks ago, my trusty Bushnell died. This has made me realise how genuinely awful I am at predicting distances and how dependant I have become on my rangefinder... but no bother, i'm sure my eyes wont lie to me too much. I've got this.
A quick look at the green, or at least what I can see of it, and I think its probably 140-150 yards(ish). Brilliant. Distance analysis done, I pull my 9-iron.
"What you hitting"? My brother asks me.
"It looks all of a 9 to me mate". I tell him.
"Really? Are you sure? How far do you think that is?" He asks me.
    "I don't know mate, 140? 150? Can't see a thing". I respond.
Having just put a couple of beers away, and given my confidence in my brothers lack of ability to determine the distance after watching him pull a gap wedge, I decided to make it interesting.
"£50 I put this inside 15 feet", I tell him.
My brother chuckles and goes "Yeah why not, let's do it".
I'm confident. The lie isn't bad, i've got green to work with, and i've picked a club that - assuming my distance prediction is even close to correct - should leave me a little short, at worst.
So... here it goes. I take my swing, and... bang. Flush. Like a knife through butter I watch arguably the purest 9-iron I have ever hit soar through the sky, right at the flag.
"THAT IS A DART. That is all over it mate, GO IN". I shout.
I couldn't have hit it better, and the tight draw is bringing the ball dead in line with the flag. We watch eagerly, and my brother says nothing - no doubt stunned at the accuracy of my call, and the beauty of the shot I have seemingly pulled out of nowhere.
The ball starts its final descent towards the pin. This £50 is mine, theres no two ways about it.
    And then.. Nothing.
Nothing, that is, until I watch the ball carry the green...
and the water filled ditch directly behind the green...
and all of the trees behind that.
The only feedback I got from that shot was the unmistakeable sound of a golf ball crash-landing into the greenkeepers yard directly behind the infinite forestry framing my initial target, smashing to pieces whatever unfortunately placed vehicle or piece of machinery lay out of view.
The only audible sound to follow that was... well, of course, my brother wheezing and hitting the floor in uncontrollable laughter. I have to be honest, I followed immediately after. Never have I lost a bet in such humiliating and hilarious fashion. We actually had to let the group behind us play through to give ourselves time to find some sort of composure, and given the current lack of ability on show, I don't think that was a bad idea.
Just incase anyone was wondering, no vehicles or people were injured during this unfortunate turn of events... just a very large dent in the equipment warehouse, which the green-keeping staff thought was just as amusing as we did. I even got my ball back.
    So, rangefinder suggestions anyone? 😂
