I had a Titleist 980F 3 wood that I loved. The face caved in once and Titleist replaced it. The second time it caved in Titleist replaced it with a 904F and I didn't care much for it.

Same here.  I have a pair and they are tight across the toe box.  I’d like to see additional widths.

I hope they make wider sizes. I like the idea but they are just too narrow for me.

I live in Lenexa. I’m a new player, so I’m not very good. I typically shoot around 100 with some mulligans. I’m also a new dad. Sundays are likely the only day I can play unless I take time off from work during the week.

Shoes are the enemy of the feet.
Minimalist/barefoot shoes or shoes that offer wider toe boxes are a game changer in life.
Outside of golf, some casual dress I wear vivos or bearfoot shoes. Especially for the gym. Rooting to the ground for squats and deadlifts is so much easier and better for the performance of the lifts

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?
I started around 1997. I was a decent player but I haven't played in a decade and I'm hoping to get back into it now that my wife wants to play.

I just got fit for wedges with a Titleist fitter. This was my first time being fit for anything.

He told me he doesn't worry about lie angle with wedges since people already manipulate their lie based on what kind of shot they are hitting.

When i bought my new wedges last month after the fitting at PGA Tour Superstore, they bent them for me no charge. It could have been more or less than 2* flat depending on the manufacturer but the end result is that they were bent for my fit and swing.

How long have you been playing golf? 3 years / No ghcp...if I'm on I'm a sub-bogey golfer. What’s your handicap or normal score?  I play about 9 holes max due to physical limitations.
What do you love about golf?  Outside with my dog in my cart enjoying life...what I have left of it.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? I was browsing.  Do you already know any other Spies?  No.
Where are you from? Bella Vista, AR. What is your home course?  Kingswood
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?  The best for me is that golf is cheap here...the only gripe I have is winter.

How’d you pick your user name?  Butterbean was the 'King of the Four Rounders'...and he was pretty good too.  Well due to the fact I have arthritis and Graves disease, 4 to 6 holes doesn't leave me whooped.
    Happy to be here!

Back when I was doing club fittings I had a spreadsheet calculator and would have players hit their 5, 8, and SW. We'd then figure out the slope their lie angles would need to be through the set. Some need flatter long and more upright short irons. Most people seemed to be alright with the stock slope of lie angles. If someone required a different slope I'd order them in the middle and bend the upper and lower-range clubs to fit.

If you plot your length vs lie you'll see they aren't linear. Most people will fall into a linear progression. You have a few clubs with different lengths but the same lie angle. I'd start there looking at your lie angles. A good club fitter should be able to help.

After getting home, I realized that I could enjoy playing The Crossings once a month but not weekly.  Score of 115 is chopped liver to a lot you guys, but gives me a good target to hit 105.  I'm only a 69 yr old hunchback.

If the fitter was what I would consider a good fitter he would have had you swing your wedges and looked at the lie angle of those and determined what adjustments you needed since you weren’t looking to get wedges at that time.

Based on what is discussed and the post comments you can see the confusion of the OP.   Essentially as discussed in this thread clubs are independent and each should be treated differently and the lie angle should be adjusted to fix the clubs ball flight.

    This is quality.

The first set I did this was my i5 irons. I’d just returned from PING certified fitter program in Phoenix and was thinking about my own results. I went 1* up 8-P and 2* up 3-7. It served me well for years and then naturally, as my swing changed, so did the lies.

I love the thinking outside the box and the slope idea is super innovative.

One of my goals was to play The Crossings in Carlsbad, Calif.,  literally the home course for Callaway, TM, Titleist, Cobra, KBS, and Evnroll, which are all headquartered in Carlsbad all within a few miles.  It is rated 69 and 125 from the whites but I think most locals say it is harder.  Lots of carries over gullies and rocks.  I hoped to be up to the challenge by year end, but a group I know had an opening last Sunday morning, so I dove in.  I scored, eh, around 115, nothing to write home about, but I had 2 pars, 3 bogeys, and 4 putts that died an inch short of going in center cup.  Pretty much my best round ever.  If I could post an x-ray of my spine  . . ..  I should post an upper body photo showing my "Stacy Lewis before surgery" degrees of curve.  Not quite Quasimodo, but close.🙃🎃.  But like the rest of you, love the challenge playing this game.  I couldn't play baseball or basketball or hockey, but I can golf.  Sort of.  I was so stoked after this round that I signed up for a lesson.  Dan O'Connell at Carlsbad GolfMart did a good job showing me proper right shoulder position, better swing.  Thanks, Dan.

I don’t believe there is a one size fits all answer.  I’ve always played my wedges 1* flatter than my PW.
This year during the S159 test, I chose Blue dots that were 1* up like my T100’s.  Some folks say that’s a no but I’ve preferred this setup.  I’ve played better and noticed much better results from my short game in this manner.
What I’ve learned in 36 years of playing is that lie angles should be adjusted to dial in your ball flight.  If you hit your long irons left and short irons straight, adjusting the longer ones slightly flatter while leaving the short irons where they are could be beneficial.
