  1. Not what I was quoting about. Yes, Bloodline is a stand up putter and will also be in this years testing based on my quick look at the putter lineup. My quote was in response to a putter with a built in laser.
  2. Pretty sure I have already seen one of these; just can't remember the name
  3. You have 8 players on your team. You score will be based on some subset of that team. Let’s say 4. If you don’t have 4 Players playing in the event you can pick up players or hope your limited team can earn enough points. Remember if you drop a player someone else may pick them up. Thinking of this is part of the strategy for drafting players. What players will play majors, what players have limited schedules, and what players play lots of events.
  4. I went into the draft section and I could see my pick.
  5. Limited edition blackout series https://bettinardi.com/products/inovai-6-0-limited-blackout-putter
  6. I think the confusion is not that you don't carry those wedges; because you do; you focus on one or two clubs for your short game instead of playing them all. Instructors, coaches, fitters, and players look at this differently. If you play a single wedge you learn it inside out and can manipulate it and be confident in your results. Others advocate using multiple wedges to vary distance and trajectory. Both work and players can be successful with either. I am with you, I tend to lean toward one wedge when I get around the green.
  7. From my experience it is a solid driver. Sound isn't my preference, but the driver definitely performs. Of the drivers I have tested so far in most wanted, The Mavrik, SIM, and Cobra are all solider performers. Which one is best? That depends on you and your swing. I'd like to compare over different days to see how they do over time, but SIM and SIM Max seem to have generated the best ball speeds so far. I've only tested 16 of the 39 drivers so far so there is lots of others that could take my top spot.
  8. I am happy at 9; I see it as basically a number 3 pick if a player can be on 4 teams.
  9. Still impossible to correlate. Don’t know how many players are in the stats for the various swing speeds and we don’t know where the player was hitting it on the face. My 100mph toe hits will potentially have less ball speed than a players 95mph sweet spot hit. To do any real comparison, you would have to have the entire set of data
  10. The concept of a standard set is going away. Players are choosing to put specialty clubs at the top and bottom of the bag to accomplish specific goals. Players even make decisions across the iron set to include varying types and brands of irons. Ultimately play what works for you and helps you have fun or score the best you can. Look at my signature, lots of headcovers and I start my irons at 6.
  11. I think it will depend on the format that is chosen.
  12. XXIO is targeted at players with slower swing speeds.
  13. Towel behind the ball and water bottles would be a good alternative, but buying stuff is just fun!
  14. They have an open door policy and on one of the past no putts given Harry said to shoot him an email and you could be a tester. I have even seen signs at local courses and golf shops. I am pretty sure they do have a limit on the number of testers for each product. This is due to space limitations at the facility (2 gc quads, and 1 putting green) and who they can fit in during the day. This years driver test is roughly a 40 hour commitment for each tester. 4 drivers each session with a total of 9 sessions. Each session is an hour plus which includes some warm up time, following the prescribed protocol; and providing subjective feedback. I get in 1 to 2 sessions a week.
  15. Probably depends on AoA and where we hit it on the face. I am generally pretty level and hit the ball high on the face. Harry mentioned he dropped it down to 7 degrees and then we bumped it up a little but definitely sub 9*. The sounds to me was just off.
  16. Golf stores generally have some type of launch monitor. No matter what equipment you are getting, new or old you can do fitting. Try various heads and shafts and see what works and feels good. You can always buy used and put things together. Buy, try, sell, repeat! High handicappers would be surprised how repeatable their swings really are. As a 13.4 you are are definitely in the repeatable range. I guess it depends on what you consider hyper-analytics; finding equipment that works for you isn't being hyper analytical; it is about finding the tools that help you make the game easier.
  17. The SIM and SIM max were in my most wanted testing rotation today. Swing was doing pretty well today and speeds were in the 105-108 range. Also included were XXIO and Srixon 785. No real ball speed advantage from what I could tell. The SIM launches high and we had to turn down the loft to get good launch angle. Sound was very much like a thud which I didn't like. Overall a nice driver and it would be something I would put in the possibility pile when doing more detailed analysis.
  18. Some people will fit for every club in the bag and say that the putter is about looks and feel. This approach works for lots of players since they don't want to think about anything mechanical and that getting fit would ruin their process. I personally am a big proponent of getting fit for putters and understanding the how of my stroke. Goal of fitting is to help you pick a putter that helps you accomplish what you need with the stroke. I know people don't like indoor fittings, but everything you can do fitting wise can be done indoors.
  19. I have tried the shaft several times in a Bettinardi putter vs the same Bettinardi without the shaft. The putters I used were part of this review: https://mygolfspy.com/tested-breakthrough-golf-technology-stability-shaft-for-putters/ Didn't have a SAM or Quintic to use for comparison to dive into the numbers for when I was goofing off. I found it felt different but can't definitively say is improved my putting. Just like any other head or shaft, they have different weights and flexes and as a result peformance will vary. Nothing wrong with skepticism and being a non believer. This forum is about posting your thoughts and what you have experienced with your own testing and evaluation. I am very fortunate that I am one of the Most Wanted testers so I have exposure to lots of equipment and post my thoughts based on my experiences.
  20. Basically look at performance results to determine what you need. Compare what you have to the “new” and see what changes. This is the same thing most people on here and fitters say. Like the SIM thread until you try It you don’t know what improvements you may or may not see. Who cares what the latest YouTube star sees with the club. The Gucci shaft options at club champion are partially the fault of your friend; he should have communicated price ranges and goals during the initial conversation of the fitting.
  21. Hard to impossible to make that a blanket statement. Some people may see losses, some no change, and some improvement. Depends on how well the driver fits the player. This is independent of the player having gone through a fitting or just picking the club off the rack.
  22. Can’t answer if the riptide is an authentic or made for in the callaway line. We know the Ventus in the TM line is made for. Would have to compare side by side; I looked at the TM Ventus and didn’t notice the missing verbiage
  23. There generally isn’t a lot of difference especially when you aggregate the data from the various testers. Data analysis is improving each year so the metrics are getting better. Having hit the clubs as part of mist wanted I find that most of the clubs perform about the same. The differences for an individual are based on how you respond to looks and feel of the club in your hands and does the design fit into what you need. For example, a club may have lines that cause you to close the face at impact. Or the club may be designed for specific swing speeds. What happens a lot today is the weighting of the low spin head produces such a low spin the you can’t properly launch the ball while other produce too much spin and you lose distance. Mist wanted testing is about finding stock clubs that work best for the largest group of people. Your particular most wanted club may not be in the top 10.
  24. The Mavrik I tested had a Even Flow Riptide.
