    It is back!

Another incredible company who has been a forum participant in the past is back in 2024! Thrilled to have them take part and including a full range of products for 3 very fortunate forum members!

If you are new to the forum check out this thread: HOW TO BE A TESTER GUIDE it will help you learn how to increase your chances at being selected.

I signed up for the GPS model but would be HAPPY to test any of them. I always walk, except when it's not allowed, and would love to try one of these. Now that I know how the review process works, I know I'd do a great job.

Hej! Yes I live in sweden! but long way from Umeå haha, it´s a long country! Never played anything up north or in Norway yet! hopefully can try it out in the future! Have you played alot in Umeå? Stockholm have some really nice courses tho! Drottningholm is really nice and Riksten is for me a golden gem in stockholm!

I've played mostly in Norway but also Öland links (one of only 2 true links courses in Sweden) and that was so much fun. But yes, mostly up north at Sörfors and also one called Norrmjöle. I much prefer Sörfors which funny story is north of town while the north one is south of town. Since this is a ball testing thread - I was fortunate enough to do a Titleist ball test 3-4 years ago and did most of it there in Umeå. I would like to play Stockholm but the guest fees are very high near to the big city so I have skipped it for now. There was a No Laying Up episode where they played this small club there with hickory clubs. I'd like to do that.

normally playing around 100 rounds  past 3 seasons with my girlfriend and been trying out different balls, have been playing alot with Callaway chromesoft and Pv1, not really tested TP5 that much while my girlfriend mostly play with just that. As a 6 hcp now i really start to enyoj trying and testing small things to get a better feel during my rounds.

Still fairly new restart to the game of golf, but last 3 years I have been playing alot and also alot of local competitions.

Bor du i Sverige? Jag spelar nära Umeå på sommaren. Sorry my Swedish is so terrible. We were in Norway for a long time but our family lives in Umea and Stockholm. I'll be there for a few weeks July/August this summer. Sad I never made it to Falsterbo or Vestby when we lived over there.

  3. I've been thinking about whether or not to sign up for this one. I recently did a test for something small, and much more was asked for than I had expected to do. HOWEVER, I believe I've learned a lot from that experience and with my new golf simulator that I've built in my garage (that is fully functional and pretty awesome as well), I can do an *excellent* job testing and reviewing the unit. I also have tons of room in my garage, so I won't be space constrained either.

    It's time!!!!!!

    Sweet!!!

    1. Make a post with your dream specs of the Titleist T Series.

My dream specs are the T100 or T150  I went 150 because the sole looks better for me. +0.25” length, 1*flat, Lamkin UTx midsize logo up, Aerotech i110x, D2, standard loft, 3-50* but I wish they had the same lofts as the 620 irons, then 1* weak, since you are asking for dream specs. It’s like getting an extra club ITB because you go from 3-48* in only 8 clubs but the T150 uses 9 slots for the same spread so I have to delete the 3 or 4 iron to make 14 total. I said both so I have options for wind and links play.

you’ll see in the picture but def 1* flat  love the Aerotech i110 X (RIP Chris the former owner)

    2. Share a screenshot or photo of your preferred utility and specs from titleist.com. I added a corrected utility shot but it won’t delete the old one. Sorry!

    3. Must "Follow" this thread - Follow button is top right above sign up or when making a response select follow topic. DONE!

  5. I have an Optishot right now, BUT, just ordered a new enclosure from Carl's Place AND am getting a projector. We are in the process of moving into a new home where all this nice stuff will be set up. So if that's acceptable for MGS, please do pick me. I will do an awesome job reviewing and follow up with updates.

Hi Clayton, thanks for the great question!!

The chart you have shows a couple of shafts I have played before. The 2016 Cobra Forged Tecs came with the C-Taper Lites as standard and they were definitely a mid launch for me but the 115's are more like the XP95s so up towards high launch. The thing is though, I had the XP95s in Cobra F9s and Mizuno JPX900 Hotmetals, two clubs designed to get the ball up and flying. All I can say is the 115s are solid and stable and you should definitely try them 😁

To all of you that answered, thank you.  I've actually revived my inner club ho-ness and ordered a set of 223 with the Modus 120 X (I really like them in my wedges). I kind of sort of pulled the trigger on another set that have the $-Taper in them.  The $-Taper set said used at 2nd Swing but they all still have the plastic on the heads and the Modus looks like they were played for maybe 1 or 2 rounds.  Maybe the "new" used ones are a mistake order as they are X-flex?  So I have to decide what set to keep.  Thing is, I can't hit them until July when I'm back. My current irons that I hit really well are Psi with the C-Taper 105X shaft but I think it was a special TM only profile.  So who knows what those look like on the chart.

So that's why I'm looking at shaft charts and comparing things.  The $-Taper is supposed to play like a C-Taper but feel like the Tour shaft.  That sound very attractive to me.

    Any thoughts?

  7. Hey @Nunfa0 @DStar @Syks7 @Tiftaaft - I have a question about where you think these shafts would fit into the Titleist Iron Shaft Comparison and the Nippon chart.  It's quite interesting how different the "Modus" can play just depending on the name/weight.  COMPLETELY different profiles, etc.  Frankly, their lineup is very confusing.  I like the Modus 120 X in my 56 and 60 and was thinking to order them in my irons but compared to the KBS Tour X, they look really high launch and spinny! Would love anyone's opinion on this. TIA.

  8. I REALLY want one of these.  First off, our range is closed for months undergoing renovation.  I'd love to be able to warm up before my 3 rounds per week.  Second, I have plans to build a large TV based simulator with a net as a first step (those big screens and 4K projectors are EXPENSIVE!).  This would be the perfect way to start the project.

  9. I hope the reviews start rolling in soon!  I'm super interested in a set of these in Mizuno 225 irons.  I already play the 120 X in my wedges and my current irons have Taper-C 105's "made for Taylormade" in X.  I actually like the shaft quite a bit but loved the 1050 GH X in a previous iron and am thinking this option, or the lighter one might be what I end up with.

  10. I can't believe how many problems people have! I have Gen 2 sensors that sat around in a drawer for 2 years before I even tried them out. They have worked nearly flawlessly all season long.  I put tape over the ends and in an opaque bag for the winter but fully expect them to work fine when I reinstall them next season.  I sure hope that's how it works, anyway...

Arccos claims that it takes tee-shot position when accounting for strokes gained on approach. I have no way to verify that claim, but based on my approach strokes gained and the frequency with which I’m hitting out from under trees I’m inclined to believe it.

Interesting - so I'm worse than I thought.  I just noticed that my stats (over 50 rounds) have changed to where I "only" lose 3.4 from driving and 4.0 from approach compared to a 7 hcp.  Over the last 25 it drops to 2.4 from driving and 4.2 on approach.  I have been struggling with my irons...

I did have a few rounds on firmer courses where the 58° was really good from 60-70 yards, but on courses that were soft it didn't work for me at all. To be fair I have a pretty steep angle of attack on my wedges, but I didn't even get the lowest bounce version of the 58° - it has 8° of bounce, but coming from the CBX that has 11° and a much wider sole it was a world of difference.

I really enjoyed the benefits of the Arccos. It verified some things that I already thought I knew (positive strokes gained on everything inside 100 yards except sand shots) but also taught me some new things about weaknesses in my game that I didn't recognize (I lose more strokes off the tee than I do on approach shots, even though I've always thought that I was much better off the tee than with my irons). That particular piece of info has made me more willing to pull the plug on my driver early in the round if I'm struggling and stick with woods off the tee, and I actually managed to shoot a 37 on the back 9 at Shuksan (82 overall) after deciding to leaving driver and 3-wood in the bag after hole 4 (only time I've broken 40 on 9).

I'm gonna take a look at my statistics as well.  It says I'm a good putter, lose a lot of strokes off the tee and approach.  But I think a big part of the approach problem is the tee shot being in a difficult to hit the green position.  Like this shot I had between birch trees (actually hit the green this time).  I'm working on my swing this winter and hopefully when they open the course again in April, I'll come out punching, or "swinging" since it's golf.

On the wedges, in the PNW I have always played 12* or so with sand and as much as is offered with the lob.  It's not just you - most people need it out there most of the year.

  13. Yeah, that was a fantastic review @gavinski91 !  Thanks for all the effort.  Too bad we didn't get to play Homestead together.  You would have beat me by 2 strokes on the front that day.  Was fun to see the review on a course I know.  I agree that you need really high bounce wedges there.  I live somewhere now called the "sun coast" where it doesn't rain nearly as much and find lower bounce lob to be pretty good... but when I went back, even in the summer it was so soft at Padden and NB that I wanted more bounce again.

For everyone - how did you like the Arccos?  This was my first season using the sensors and they were awesome.  Just took them out of my clubs as it's indoor season now and the course is closed for the year.

Spent this afternoon running diagnostics on the sensors to ensure all are working. All 14 are active.

Then looked up how to diagnose Caddielink not detecting clubs or shots.

    https://support.arccosgolf.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045850252-What-happens-when-Arccos-Caddie-Link-isn-t-detecting-any-shots-

Checked all the steps listed and all are correct so then ran Caddielink Link Diagnostics and found that Caddielink is connected and the GPS is working. However when I tried to identify a club, nothing happened. I tried several clubs and none worked.

So I can only assume that Caddielink is faulty.

Tomorrow I will try using the phone in my pocket and see if this works. If it does this should confirm that it is Caddielink is the problem.

Hopefully that does the trick.  I have 50 rounds on my Arccos sensors, just using the iPhone 7+ and they still work perfectly.  Our local course will shut down sometime this month for the winter and I'm working in a golfsim place now so I'm going to remove them and store in a bag with tape over the ends for the winter.  Hopefully they do fine next season as well - some people are getting 3 seasons but not sure how common that is.

  15. I can't believe there aren't any comments yet.  First, I'm so disappointed in you LeftyMatt.  I bought a set of one length irons and wedges for my dad and it was incredibly good for his golf game.   Of course I'm kidding about being disappointed.  Your review was so honest and helpful.  Thank you. Same with you Jlukes.  I'm incredibly interested in that 7 wood - I've played one for a very long time.  It's finally developed a crack and I'm looking for something to fill that slot.  Maybe we can work a trade or something.

Like LeftyMatt, I think a mixed set of OL 4 to 8 irons, then some sort of standardish stepping down would be something awesome to try.  I really did buy my dad some and it really did help him play so much better.  The improvement for him was incredible.  Yes, even with the wedges.  Anyone know what Bryson does for the wedges?  Are they really all that long?

I'm hoping I am picked for next year.  I would commit to OL for a year for sure.

  16.

    Congratulations to the testers.

I started using them this year and the system is fantastic.  I use an old iPhone 7+ and it picks up nearly every shot.  I just check it while others are putting out and add anything that may have been missed.  Always keep your phone facing up so the microphone is closest to your pocket opening.  I also run Strava at the same time and haven't had any problems doing that.  Even though my battery is nearing the "replace" condition in the old phone - I easily get a round in and still have about half a charge leftover.  Make sure you keep the clubs upside down and in your bag - they "turn on" when upright, have sunlight, and detect air so if you have them in your den sitting upright, you might drain all the battery.  If the putter sensor sits funny, many of us (on the FB page) have drilled a small hole adjacent to the standard hole to have it centered on the grip.  Overall it's pretty flawless - but feel free to PM me if you can't figure something out.  It took a bit of searching to figure out how to do a few things.

  17. Signed up.  Would LOVE to test this personal launch monitor.  I really feel that this technology will help me understand my swing... and with the coaching, BAM!  I have good "fundies" but need some personal tweaking on my swing to improve my scoring potential.  I'll give the Rapsoso MLM a good workout, and then some.  Hope I am chosen, thanks for the opportunity MGS!

  18. I'm excited to participate in this ball test.  I love urethane cover Titleist balls.  I also feel like I can tell the difference between hard, soft, etc when it comes to iron, wood, and putter impact.  So I guess this will be where I get to find out if that is true!!!
