I am beginning to customize then build my Ft. Worth 15s. I got a great deal on these. They were new/never hit! I removed the original paint fill and am going to repaint them. I bought Red and Blue Lamkin UTx grips and custom ferrules from Cell-parts.net.

    Extreme walking
I was looking at maps around my town and I am 4.4 miles from my home course. With greenways, back trails and the like I am wondering if I can walk there, play and walk back. It would be about 15 miles all said and done. But I think it is doable.
Of course my wife go me the Tom Coyne book “A Course Called Ireland” for Christmas and it has me thinking....

So while I'm "planning" on no club purchases until after the PGA Show.   I did get these to help me navigate the 10 miles floor space at the show.

I’m on my feet also all day and walk. Not being in work boots and comfortable golf shoes is great. Also I think of it as exercise

I have just gotten back into walking and I am glad that I did. There is something about walking a course that makes it more enjoyable now and I feel like I make fewer mistakes because I have time to think about the next shot.

I just walked 9 holes for the first time since 2004 when I played in high school. All I can say is - regret. Wish I had a push cart lol.

I'm walking with my push cart every chance I get for as long as I can.  Keep moving or start rusting!

I've never seen an enclosed or heated cart at a public course where I am, but I guess you would have to in MN.

Bethpage Black still is a walking-only course, and push/pull carts in my opinion are more trouble than they're worth there due to the bunkering, slopes, and rough around the greens.  I played there Saturday, and 3 of us were carrying, and the fourth had a push cart that he wanted to abandon after the 6th hole.  It's a beast of a walk, and I won't play it if I have any back issues at all.  By the time I get to the 16th tee, I'm nearly spent, and that's when my back is feeling good.  But when I'm done, it's exhilarating (in spite of the score I've carded!), and I always look forward to doing it again.

Trump's new course in the Bronx is cart-path only I believe.  I've only played it once and walked it - not too bad a walk really.

Anyway, walkers are a minority, but I do feel walking adds to my enjoyment of the round and a feeling of accomplishment.

Another member of the pushcart mafia here (Clicgear 3.5).  If I play nine, I'll take everything out of the bag and carry.  The Sun Mountain 2.5 is a really great bag for carrying, and it holds a full set with no issue if you don't play midsized/oversized grips (some reviews seem to be mixed on this).
I'll ride if I'm in a hurry, or if I'm playing a full-sized course with my youngest daughter (walking up the fairway to play from 200 or so yards out gets boring for her).
There are a few un-walkable courses around town that are routed through housing developments with obnoxiously long trips from green to tee.  I tend to stay away from them.

I honestly hadn't walked a course since high school until this last august.  Got to play the Jubilee Course @ St. Andrews and had to walk 18 since that was the course rules.  I wasn't sure if I could handle walking that much as I am not it the best shape of my life (Luckily Round is still a shape)! 🤣  I was able to handle it no problem and have since decided that I am going to walk more this year.  I do like @chisag idea of alternating holes.  I think that would be a good way to start the process of walking this year.

I completed my all black bag with my Forged Tec 4i and King Utility Black 2-3 that arrived last week. Now I really need to pump the breaks on my purchases after >$1k on all my new iron goodies, but Jones bags look so tempting - if I make a purchase come summertime I think that will be the ticket!
I also received a late Christmas gift from #MyGolfSanta in the raffle yesterday - a Cleveland RTX 4 56*. Thanks guys! Once I sell my old set I'll be sure to make my 2019 donation.

Your going to love the Forged Tec Black 4 iron (if you haven't fallen in love already).
What Jones bag model are you looking at?

In this thread I am going to log all of my tournament rounds.  It’s going to be an exciting year and I am looking forward to it.
A little bit about who I am.  I grew up in western Pennsylvania playing a shorter course in the small town of Kane (Kane Country Club).  This is a shorter (6000 yds) course but very tight and small greens.  It was a great place to learn the game and grow up.  I was lucky enough to play good golf in high school and earned a scholarship to play at St. Bonaventure University. I went on to have a very nice carrier there ( https://gobonnies.sbu.edu/sports/m-golf/2016-17/files/Golf_Career_Scoring.pdf ).  I still hold the records for most wins (5) and lowest year scoring average at 73.0.  From there I failed horribly at trying to play professional golf.  I went out on my own didn't have a support team, slept in my car and never made a cut.  I went back home with my tail between my legs and started over.  I didn't play events for a few years as I was trying to find the fun in the game again and with help from my wife (she plays too) it has become a lot of fun again.  I know I will never play on tour, but it is fun to try and play in these events. I can still compete and score.  If you followed along here last summer on by Ping G700 iron review, I shot a 60 to tie our course record.  This is my 2nd course record as the other is at the course I grew up playing in Pennsylvania.  A fun note, I have 2 course records (60 at Urbana CC tie with Steve Stricker  and Dylan Meyer & 61 at Kane Country Club) but I do not have any hole in ones.
This summer I hope to be 100% healthy again and I am looking forward to playing in a lot of events.  Feel free to ask any questions and once we get rolling this spring these events will be updated below.  If live scoring is available I will post a link next to that event.   Thanks to MGS for letting me post here and I hope everyone enjoys the 2019 golf season.

I agree. I have have mine for two years nd I can’t imagine switching. Not only do I get a lot of “oh’s and ash’s” or “I love your putter”but it is the best damn putter I have touched. I’m not an exceptional putter if the ball but I am convinced this helps me and I sink more putts because of it.
Added bonus, when I visited MGS they gave me a super pimp putter cover for it.

Annual Christmas lunch and golf outing for our company at Oahu Country Club. Off and on rain, 2-club wind, and the difficulty of the course just kicks my butt every year. Beautiful though!
