  1. I did really like a lot of their equipment and had my best ever round using their golf balls... still on the eBay hunt for good deals on their clubs! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy

  3. Honestly ping drivers...that being said I am super excited to try the g400. It was never that I couldn't hit them okay because I've had a few and some great drives with them. It was also more that I couldn't stand the sound and really didn't like the feel hitting it. Especially when compared to my cobra driver that I really love! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I just finished building a new set (update coming to WITB soon) and was curious as to how many of us out there do a mixed bag. By mixed bag I mainly mean irons not so much brand loyalty throughout the bag. For example titleist mb/cb or ap1 and ap2 or a mizuno mix. I ended up pulling the trigger on a 5-pw of mizuno mp25 and really wanted a 4 iron. Unfortunately I couldn't find one anywhere so I went with a cobra forged tec. It has a similar boxyish shape and although a little chunkier is very similar and doesn't mess with my head when setting up for a shot. Or even are there ppl out there who have a dream mixed set that may be across brands?
  5. Hope you have good luck finding a new family member! If you can find a breeder close to you I would highly recommend Alaskan Klee Kai's! They are amazing dogs. Very loyal, friendly and well adorable. Here is apollo who is just over 4 years now. Topped out at 15 pounds.
  6. Another curler here! Have played for 22 years now. Golfing and curling seem to go hand in hand for a lot of people here in Nova Scotia. The seasons match up almost perfectly to go right from one into another.
  7. I definitely know the feeling. Even though my bag is really well set up and I am comfortable with nearly every club in the bag I am always looking to change and or improve. I love the look of the cobra forged tec irons and the mizuno mp 25s. Both sets are irons I've always been fans of, but it's hard to argue the results of my ping irons.A new big stick will make its way in sooner rather then later, just need to go to a fitter and really take the time to get into the right club.
  8. Like most anything if you take care of your equipment then it's going to perform better and last longer. I am curious as far as titleist goes in terms of how many rounds/practice sessions it take for them to be truly worn. I'm guessing the average golfer plays 30 rounds a year (if that) and has maybe another 30 time range sessions? That's a lot to spend every year. Anyway I have my cobra trusty Rusty for 3 years now and this being my first year of actually playing a lot I haven't noticed much loss in performance if any at all. So in the bag they stay for another season! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. I'm pretty happy with the majority of my bag. Things that may change are driver. However that's a yearly thing which I always have a eye to update. Club between iron and 3 wood. Haven't really found that club which suits me well there. 3 wood (cobra f7) won't be going anywhere as it's the most consistent club in my bag. Irons I'm very pleased with as well as my putter. I have two sets up wedges which I love both so can complain there either! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. Update coming soon! Just awaiting a few arrivals. Not so much a complete new bag more of a alternative setup Depending on a few swing changes! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Living in Canada my biggest pet peeve is having to wait so long to get the gear. I don't mind waiting out auctions if I can get a good deal, but having to wait 2 weeks or more sometimes to get the gear kinda sucks. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. 11 round in August. It's become a norm with work and now that actual career work has kicked in again I figure I only have another 5-10 rounds remaining in my season. Last round we finished at 8pm and could barely see the ball after it left the club so no more late evening rounds anymore. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. I have a set of well used ping i irons. They are still in pretty decent shape over all. I just have trouble not looking into newer shinier things!I truly do love the ping irons, but I miss that softer feel of a forged iron. Again it's really not a need and most definitely a want.
  14. I've found two balls that I fell in love with this season. I am on a budget and really can't afford pro v's or other top tier and honestly when I do find the odd one in the woods and use it I don't notice a massive difference. The two balls that I have used this season and had the most success with especially with my scoring clubs has been the Srixon Q star tour (39.99 Canadian) although I do get a deal from the course which makes them cheaper And my honest go to ball Nike RZN White, which if you can find them they are super cheap, but unfortunately stock isn't in abundance hence why the Srixon is there as my back up. Both I found really consistent and predictable. I really can't say enough good things about them while I've been using them. As always it for everyone, but definitely suit my game to a tee! 15. Working at a golf course the thing I despise most about really dumb or tough pin placements is how it affect pace of play. Especially at a busy course where there are a lot of weekend warriors have the course set up really tough only slows things down and upsets ppl more. It's far nicer when it's set up on the easier side so players enjoy themselves more and the pace keeps up. Even if you can fix bad golf, you can still try to make it easier. From a playing perspective I don't mind tough pins, but agree with a lot of you where there are some pins that truly aren't fair...however that's golf! And in the end if it helps me become a better golfer I'll take the pain of them in the short term and hopefully get better in the long run. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  16. Thanks for the reply. My gut is telling me just to go for it! Even though my season is winding to a close and it's likely I won't be able to put them in play till sometime in October or next season...decisions decisions. What irons were you using previously?
  17. It's not needed, but I'm definitely thinking about a set of mizuno mp-25s. I've always loved them and hit them well and there are some great deals on them now that it's nearing seasons end, but just don't know if I actually need them. I play well with my current irons, but I can't get these out of my head! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. Week to week I find small but important things in my game to tweak and change that I would consider ah-ha moments. The biggest thing two things I found this season are a) 7 iron bump and runs. Not great for all courses but definitely helped my short game. getting myself to my comfortable yardage for shots into the green. For so long I always tried just to hit it far and get as close as I could regardless. Now I like being really anywhere from 90-135 yards and feel extremely comfortable with those shots in. Often on shorter par 4s rather then using driver/3 wood to get as close as possible I will take 5 iron to get me to my comfortable yardage. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  19. For me it's the big pull hook. I usually hit it pretty straight with most my clubs. Little draw with the irons which can turn to a push, but that I can live with. Driver normal has a bit of a fade which is consistent so no worry to change that. Then there is my 3 wood which is my favourite and most consistent club. I can work it both ways and just feel super confident with it in my hands however it is the one club that I will get that big bad shot out of once or so a round. Normally it is a big big over draw or pull hook. Still love the club though! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  20. First tournament was actually a few weeks ago in club championships. I've golfed for a long time as a kid and it's only been the last few years that I've really gotten into playing/improving and keeping a handicap. So I hadn't swung a club in the week leading up to clubs because I was away working. My expectations weren't too high even though I felt I could piece together a good round and have a shot at it. Started off very well only 2 over through 6 holes and well then everything fell apart. I silly decision off the tee, rain started coming down and having not looked at the forecast I didn't have rain gloves or anything so I lost all confidence in my swing and really be able to attack because I didn't feel I could put a good strike on the ball. Ended up with my worst round of the season at 96. Day two! Knowing I was out and still had some good holes the previous day I really wanted to piece together a proper round and thankfully with some luck and a few made outs for around to 79. I couldn't help but laugh afterwards, I had so much fun and despite having a awful first day knowing it just wasn't my day I still thoroughly enjoyed my time and will certainly bring what I learned into future tournaments. 21. Great set up! Big fan of every club in the bag and have to admit love seeing an endangered species club in the bag with Nike hybrid. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  22. Very good topic! For me it would definitely be shots 75-15 yards. All others are full swings and feel confident over the all. More recently my chipping has improved simply by playing it simpler and using a 7 iron a lot of the time to take some inconsistency out. However that 10-75 yards still gives me troop. On the range it's okay, pretty consistent and not bad, but on the course it's a different story! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
