  1. We just had a great call with Jacob Clarke. Lead designer for the new PING s159 wedges. We asked him about shafts and his thought was to match closely to your iron shafts in terms of weight. If you only use a wedge for full shots then go with your iron shaft.
  2. PING Live Q&A Recording Missed the call? Watch it here now!
  3. Join now for an amazing call with a ton of great conversation!
  4. They are drop shipped from China do there could possibly be import charges. Altho none of our 3 Canadian testers from last year with Takomo got them. As for the product, it's a good, solid preforming product. Our reviewers really liked them and had good results!
  5. Good question - I use them as well as most other things i read online and see online as reference points. In the end I want to get them in my hands and use them. As with everything I think taking them with a grain of salt is important, however the technology has come a long way and I can confidently say that using the Mizuno swing analyzer a few years ago was absolutely spot on. Callaway also had a really good one. The technology is solid and as with most there are going to be those that don't fit it perfect, but I would assume that gets thrown into the algorithm and it continues to learn and improve.
  6. I think I went with sleepers this week for the most part. Could be a fun event and should make for a good view! Who else does everyone else have?
  7. Giving all of you a heads up for March 21! Stay tuned as we are looking to this group (and more) for some well needed help and support!
  8. PING Wedges! And the Lead Designer of them is joining our Community Call! Truly thrilled to have PING back with us for member testing. They hold a special place with me as my first ever test selection (that I got to participate being in.... sucks being a lefty sometimes) was the PING i210 irons. Irons I played for years and years. Thank you PING for coming back and providing four awesome members with this incredible opportunity! Don't forget in order to be considered you must post a screenshot of your WebFit results! https://webfit.ping.com/
  9. Hope everyone is ready for an epic release and announcement tomorrow!
  10. Don't have one, but have played with a few guys that have them. Also they are all over my ads here! Bottom line the guys like them. I wasn't sold on the two wheels, but that is me. Good build quality and very functional. Definitely can tell it is a euro design given the space it takes up and with the size of vehicles here.
  11. It is only relevant for the Majors and even those are making exceptions. Bottom line nothing is going to be perfect till the professional golfing world sorts itself out... if it ever does.
  12. Great article Matt. Loved the depth you went to on it and clearly from the comments it has been a hit!
  13. Out of pure laziness no. I normally just drop the ball, roll it to a spot I like and go. Same goes for my 3 wood as well.
  14. If you had an email or PayPal recept send me a PM with the number and ... I'll get it added for you. We will trust you!
  15. Nearly 1k signups! Great to see. Thank you everyone and stay tuned for Tuesday when we announce our selected testers!
  16. Maybe? All depends on how much someone is going to work to improve their swing. Many will make some changes, but large wholesale changes are not as common. I get what they are saying, but it may depend on the level of depth for the fitting. A new golfer getting fit into clubs is still a good thing as they will be fit into clubs that have the proper length, lie and grips or even shaft stiffness. This will help them make the improvements vs compromising with clubs that do not suit their natural ability. If someone is planning on doing swing speed training and making those strides, then yes it is best they hold off or wait. I can look at my swing now vs 8 years ago when I got in and a lot of the core features of my swing are still there. Yes I have made significant improvements and strides, but this was mainly in compacting my swing and ensuring it did not get too long. The AOA, path and much of that has all stayed very similar. In fact I still have clubs that I used back then and they still work great for me. I am not taller or shorter, my posture is similar and getting fit (most recently by Titleist) help take my game to the next level. Get the proper gapping and more for clubs that I am more confident in.
  17. I'm going to disagree that they are bad. Sure some will lean towards lessons, but I find it hard to say they are bad.
  18. Anyone else hop on the indi train recently?
  19. Is there anyone who has not tried Boa before?
  20. Mine is a full round with my dad at my favourite course The Rise.
  21. If you send me the confirmation number the donor tag can be added to your account. This has to be done manually as they are not connected systems. We have to posting criteria there because of what our members, companies and staff expect from testers. We need to know someone a little and have some level of confidence they will be or able to be active in engaging with the community in answering questions and being involved throughout the test and beyond. I mentioned it in another comments, but it is worth repeating. When we are giving someone hundreds or even thousands of dollars worth of equipment there needs to be a level of trust and confidence in that selection. When a member has next to no posts or interactions it is hard for us to know or have that trust. This is not to say they would be bad testers, but to say it would be more like a random giveaway. With so many members like yourself making decisions or interpretations on the equipment reviewed here it makes it all the more critical that us as staff get these selections right. We of course get new members involved (over 100 last year), but again we just ask for a little so we can have some level of knowledge to see what a member is capable of or able to do ahead of time. All of this I don't believe is too much to ask and in fact is a lot less than what was the previous standard. Years ago (prior to me being on staff) the minimum post count for a member to be really considered was 100 posts. We often now select members with 20-50 posts. When they are getting a hundred dollars or so worth of equipment that works out to more than a few bucks per post!
  22. What State is your game in? What are your putting tendencies? And what are the current putters you have or prefer to use?
  23. It's a system limitation. There are a bunch of resizing apps or even websites you can use to make any photo meet the size requirements.
