  1. Can the team go into League Ownership and accept trades?
  2. I think this next week will be very telling for a lot of teams. Nearly all the main guys will be playing with the exception of a few (DJ, Rory, Kokrak and others off the top of my head) so we could see the full capabilities of a few teams.
  3. Had a demo with the Rogue ST D yesterday. I say demo because it wan't a fit for several reasons. 1 - The shop only had the 10.5 ST draw head in LH. Not my first choice by any means, but gave me a decent feel for the club. 2 - Only tried one shaft, again which was fine. it was the one most similar to mine in a previous Callaway line. 3 - They left me be and I just hit away So start with the funny part or wait till the end? ... I'll wait Observations Head looked great, awesome sound and nice feel off the head. However the head in that configuration was not suitable to my spin. It took a lot for me to get spin in the 2600 range and the swing felt off. When I swung my normal way the spin was usually above 3400 and although launch was in a decent enough window the spin killed the distance. Ball speed was in a range I liked as well for me. Just above the 150 mark on most all hits with a couple healy ones well not being great, of course which is expected. Ball flight was very straight overall. Again Spin was high so this was somewhat expected. So overall I really liked the driver and will go back when they have more heads in stock which will allow me to deal in a proper head and have a proper fit which will suit me. So the funny part... My first hit/swing felt amazing. Good contact, higher spin about 3200 with a decent draw. The issue it only went 219! Ball speed was low 150's, but overall it just didn't add up to me. I hit several more and even with some with lower spin the best carry I had was 230. I just figured I lost some speed over the winter and that was the case. So tried ramping it up, but spin started to climb and the distance pretty much capped there. So I talked to the guy for a little bit and then he said one word that made me feel really stupid... I live in Switzerland and our courses are all in Meters... so I needed to add roughly 10% onto all those distances to get yardages. Then it all clicked in and started to make more sense to me. Some definite confusion, but definitely something to make sure you look at before judging a club!
  4. If you are on mobile. Go to the top and tap the 3 lines, then go to account---> amount settings. It will take you to a page where you see your email and profile completion bar. Scroll to the bottom, in other settings there is edit profile. All the options and drop down are there. Once you have done any changes you like hit save and you're all done.
  5. They were both WD so that must be the score for that and if some one selected them.
  6. I know I posted it once before, but maybe I'll do up a rough thing of what goes from a mod side when we select testers. If I'm being honest as the person/mod who made most of the initial short lists from last year it is pretty easy for us to check on recent activity via the profiles as they are. Also on the back end it shows us a graph of how many posts were made in the last month. Keep in mind we also encourage and want new people to get involved in testing and work hard to make sure that we have new members get their feet wet. We also kinda have the forum contributor category in the badge system. I should have some time to go over the how testers are chosen and do up a new thread for it, but there are threads already created about it and the what matters more 3000 posts or 3000 dollars donor thread that a member did last year went over a lot and was extremely well done and shows that the system of selecting members has been pretty good over the years. Of course we have a few go MIA, which SUCKS really really sucks and I get pretty twisted about it. When that happens they go on a no fly list essentially and do not get a chance for a test again at least in the forseeable future. I also make sure I follow up several times and give several reminders... but that is another story for another day. You do bring up a good point that we should probably update/notify everyone again about how testers are selected as we approach the new season!
  7. Sent a note to them. Hope to hear back regarding it.
  8. I'll look into it. Maybe it accidently had him missing the cut.
  9. Altho I understand where you guys are coming from we have gone back and forth on this and made several changes along to way and as a mod team are happy with where this is. Ill add this, for the majority of us when we look through applications we know that the majority (we can filter) that have say over 50 posts are dedicated golfers. Even if you put causal or competitive... Both can be dedicated. I'm dedicated, but only played a handful of rounds all last year. This year i plan on playing competitively, but my dedication is still the same. Again we are happy with where it is at for our needs and the information it will provide. We could really go deep into the weeds with variations on naming types, but this covers our needs at this time. Now from strictly profile perspective (non testing) maybe we look at where we can expand on this and make profiles more robust? We can go deep into it and include favorite courses, locations (if you want), favorite Club and on and on. This can certainly be something we build on as profiles are a very underused asset we have here on the forum and are something i would like to see used more from following members and so on.
  10. Week 2: AT&T Pebble Beach Tom Hoge! Manages a win with a 68 68 weekend at Pebble Beach. It was a pretty exciting week with lots of different names atop the leaderboard and (from what I saw) some great golf. With Berger pulling out with a injury it left Spieth and Cantlay as they did not disappoint with top 5 finishes. Meanwhile Jason Day had another solid T25 finish and Canadians littered the leadboards top 25 with their big 3 all having good weeks. After week 2 our top 15 in the standings look like this: @cciciora13 takes over sole first place from @STUDque and @ZJBogey2 who after week one had occupied that place. We had 9 different leaders last year (slightly different format) but I expect us to have larger swings and more names up top then last year. @TBS and @kahl2069 were our divisional undefeated teams with TBS scoring a mighty 261.95 points. He was 15 clear of everyone and altho did not have the winner. Joel Dahmen, Mack Hughes, Andrew Putnam, Sigg and Mullinax all made the cut and allowed him to take full advantage of his rosters scoring. Our league medium sat a little lower (1 point) then last weeks at 165.85 so we may be seeing a bit of a trend there. We also had 14 teams crack the 220 barrier, which again I think is a number to roughly reach for when considering if you had a really good, above average week. As for players who were left on waivers, it may also be worth noting that Putnam was picked up by 2 teams this week and started who certainly gave them a boost. However in a week like this with several bigger names sitting out there were tons that had awesome weeks which most of us missed out on. I typically use 50 points as a bunch mark for highlighting players. That being said the whole first page was all players that have 40 plus points this week. With a LOT of these players playing next week it will make for another great waiver wire week. Congrats to those who had good weeks and to those who didn't and had teams struggle, it is a very long season with 26 weeks and lots of valuable players on waivers. Glad to see so much activity in the Fantrax Chat and the communication there as well! Been a fantastic year so far and a lot of fun, can't wait to continue with it and see how it all pans out Now we head to the Waste Management Open for Week 3: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/49010-phoenix-open-waste-management-2022/
  11. A lot along these lines we will soon release/re-relesse the what it takes to be a tester soon. As mod staff we are very open about how it works and what it takes. No secrets and want make it accessible for everyone to have the awesome opportunity of being a MGS tester.
  12. When the update goes live you will be prompted. May be early next week, but we wanted to give a heads up rather then surprising you with it.
  13. The other thing to note is we get 4000+ applicants. The application portion of this requires simplicity. There will be several that don't know those numbers or data points. We can certainly look at eventually creating a more extensive player profile, however for what we need and require this fits. For future updates we will have these points written down and look at them.
  14. Keep in mind that quite often several of these categories are ones that OEM's look for. Example we want/prefer players with these handicap ranges. Or we want to get several in these swing speed groups (super speed) so a lot of this is directly in line with that. The rest is for intros and reviews!
  15. Looking forward to watching this. Baby has been making the habit of sleeping all day and awake most all night so even with the 9 hour time difference it will work well for him and i to get some golf bonding time.
  16. Now I want to watch Jessica Jones... I guess the only question I have and it has a lot of ifs added to it. If their micro grooves really have that much of an effect and benefit in aiding launch and spin then wouldn't some of these marks have some sort of effect? If they dont, then does that mean the microgrooves may not provide as much benefit as we think? Of course it could just be an aesthetic thing and we are somewhat overblowing it as well. I didn't get a chance to get into hit any the other day, however tomorrow is the day I do plan on finally getting into the shop.
  17. Very interesting. I know metal faces get marks in the mas well, but thats mainly wear of paint. I guess for TM what really matters is their microgrooves they have in the cover (I can recall some of the reviews call the feel a bit soft so these marks aren't too surprising). If these microgrooves make a big impact on launch and spin conditions then yeah I for sure could see this being a question for performance as it's use goes on. Or is this more like a regular driver that gets that discolouration after so many hits? Regardless will be interesting to see follow along with. I may be going in to do a fitting today for a driver and stealth is on my list to hit... I wonder how their demo will look?
  18. Week 1: Farmers Recap The year started off with a entertaining event at The Farmers. Luke List took home victory while several big names fell short leaving teams in some interesting spots after the first week. A resurgence from Jason Day was great to see after a few down years and of course the ever consistent Rahm was right there along with apparently very difficult to trade for Willy Z! A fun start to the season and our start sit format likely left a few wins on the table for some (I know it did for me). So here are our standings after Week 1 (of 26)... nobody out of it yet that for certain! Perfect starts for @STUDque and @ZJBogey2 who had very different squads outside of Jason Day. Stud managed all 5 making the cut and 3 finishing at t-3 while ZJ managed a 1/2/3 with is top guys in the field. Going to be tough to go undefeated if this keeps up! Well done. Stud also came week 1 with the scoring title at 287.45 points! Another congrats and well done there. Last year clearing the 200 marker was somewhat of a benchmark for a good week, however with an added player eligible this season I think that number may look to be around the 220 mark with only 8 teams cracking 220. Our league median watch was - 166.88 - no idea if that is good or bad yet... we will see. Aaran Rai was the top player not fully owned and in a field next week with not as many "big names" he will be someone teams look to add as he will hopefully continue his good play. There were several changes in the field and my 2 main adds for this week are apparently not playing so back to the drawing board for me... be sure to double check your claims to make sure you are getting who you want and if they are playing this week. Other notable players who did well and were available are as follows: As this is the first week there isn't too much more to dive into. It is a LONG season so one week won't make or break your season, but it certainly helps getting off to a good start! That'll be all for this week, short and sweet. Remember first run of waivers is tomorrow at 7am CET (Switzerland time i'll let you figure the rest for your time zone) and happy bidding!
  19. Certainly have me intrigued to hear the sound. I have two very different putters in the strokelab7 and ping Tyne (first edition). Both sound crazy different and at least statistically my putting is about the same with both. I am still really curious about this line. They pass the eye test
  20. I was pretty sure that was from 2014 which is why I followed up
  21. I see @Josh Ross you signed up, but I can't see the picks being put in. We have 46 that entered, but only 36 on the leaderboard and unfortunately I can see very little else on the back end. We will trouble shoot some more next for AT&T and hopefully it will resolve itself. I did also send a ticket in to see if it could be updated day to day, we will see what happens with that. Sorry it isn't perfect, but EasyOffice Pools is $20 per pool and well I'm not rich nor can afford to do 26 someodd weeks worth of EasyOffice Pools. This is thankfully free and has been decent so far, with of course a few hiccups as it is a new system to us. I expect a few others to pop up, but am hoping to get a handle on it all soon enough!
  22. As many have stated, the game of golf has changed. I don't believe there are ways to go backwards... or at least not overly logical ones. The PGA players should be able to learn and adapt to conditions/course setup and if it suits their game great. If it doesn't, learn to adapt and the best players will come out on top for that week. This happens in many sports (i don't want to bore you with curlers, but some of the pros are the worst if conditions are perfect even for a practice session). In the end they all play the same course, under similar conditions throughout the week/weekend and hopefully provide a entertaining product for us to enjoy. For me I believe course setup is what it is and I like to see a variety of different setups/conditions and therefore scores over the season. As for equipment, well we have all talked about this and whether the time to roll back something was missed is above my pay grade. I just simply try to enjoy the product that is out there and I certainly don't feel bad for the guys on tour making millions on amazing courses I would dream of playing.
  23. Would be cooler if he had one of the mini coopers from the italian job for his golf cart around his property.
