  1. Thanks for providing that! and great start to the season!
  2. That would be a missed cut. Very little wiggle room in this. Maybe should be called the guillotine league.
  3. At least the worse you do the quicker the pain and suffering will be over!
  4. Tour Trash is what would be really cool out of this... however not many lefties. Nice to see some additional content being put out.
  5. I should add Tie Breaker is lowest score of the 2 chosen golfers**
  6. No dumb questions-- If we all manage to get knocked out after round 1 I will change it to a single golfer and restart the thing. They recommend 4, but I would say we run out of players long before the end of the season. Both players have to make the cut to move on to the next week. Even if you split 1 and 1 that is it!
  7. Welcome one and all to a little side project! MGS Fantasy Golf Survivor Pool Rules are simple- Season long competition starting this week all the way to the bitter end. - Pick any 2 players in the field to make the cut - You can only use those players once in a season so pick wisely - Have a player miss the cut? You're out, no second chances! - Last man or women standing wins Prize - TBD (likely some MGS merch) Questions just ask! Look for our main pick'em series to start next week! Here is a link for the signup - Survivor Pool Signup!
  8. I don't disagree that forgiveness has been a story, but I will say typically distance is the headliner and the one that is focused on more. Is that because distance is more measurable then forgiveness to the masses?
  9. @GolfSpy_CS I'm glad you brought this to the forum. I know we had some back and forth in slack, but great to hear others thoughts on it. From reading a few responses I think there are a few other questions to add with this. If drivers from 5-10 years ago are still seeing significant gains (So Epic OG to Rogue ST) at what point is that turnover irrelevant. Meaning where may be the oldest peak driver which has consistently been close to the max? Is the G400 Max a potential benchmark to be surpassed? I think distance will always be king. I haven't dove too much into the marketing claims this year and even if they are still claiming consistency and forgiveness the main focal point is still ball speed and therefore distance. It is interesting that most OEM's have moved on from the this crown feature will help you move the club faster (I know sim had that on the bottom). Ping seems to be the only ones featuring this. So I would love to see a shift as I don't know how much more we would see in distance gains that would be a drastic difference. However as a amateur I would benefit from greater forgiveness overall. This has also been touched on, but maybe I'm in a small group that is looking for this and the masses are still looking for bigger gains and that is why distance gains are still king in marketing?
  10. If it was me i would either put them in play or use them as my puttout golf balls for practice. Packaging is pretty nice on that. Kinda reminds me of the Nike packaging.
  11. The only thing I noted on the TXG review was the strike locations for the drivers. The Sim had a MUCH lower strike pattern, whether that was depth of face or just how it was being swung I don't know. In the end I believe there is probably a bigger difference on off center hits vs center strikes... however I'll just have to wait to get one in my own hands to see how it performs for me.
  12. Love these milestones. Congrats on 4k! That is a lot and been great to have you here on the site. Glad you enjoy it hear and we all appreciate your contributions. Cheers to the next 4k!
  13. Congrats on the 1000 posts! Been great having you here on the forum and the content you've provided over those 1000 posts. Also congrats on your new born daughter! Can't wait to see what the next 1000 posts have in store for you!
  14. One thing Rick said which I'm a little confused about was when he was explaining how he understood the car crash analogy. Being a car crashing causing a impact force of however much, then if you have a bunch of weight in the back (trunk or boot) the impact would be greater. Where I am confused is, of course if you add weight the force will be greater. That makes sense, but where the analogy fails on me is TM hasn't claimed to be adding a bunch of head weight. Yes, they have moved the head weight (as most companies have), but the weight should be about the same. Finally I do recall on some review that TM felt weight the weight being at the back and greater that force is still moving forward at impact despite the face being "stopped" so to speak. Which could increase or have a greater rebound effect? I feel like this would be done better with photos. Either way I had to watch other videos after hearing how Rick explained it, because when I first heard it I thought it sounded like they were increasing the headweight a bunch. I believe that companies will always try new tech and invent new buzz words, but a thought that was brought up in our Mod Slack which could be discussed along this topic. Is it time for OEM's to stop claiming distance gains (on good strikes as we are at the limit) and start talking more about forgiveness and the added distance that forgiveness provides. This because we all know distance sells. Period. Forgiveness not so much, but if they could be intertwined maybe that is a better way to substantiate distance claims which some may see while others may not?
  15. Was just a Google search. Next time I'll take pictures...
  16. He is already! Or was for several events last season.
  17. What year does anyone think we do NOT see Bryson atop this list?
  18. Photo taken from online because we didn't make any. But essentially melted cheese on top of potatoes, bacon and veggies or whatever you like. The Raclette Grill fried stuff on the top and melts the cheese in the little pans.
  19. Made our first Swiss Raclette last night and was awesome. Added a little of our own flavor by having chicken as a side. Was so good and just a great Saturday evening dinner!
  20. Hey and welcome! I have to echo what @GolfSpy_BOS has said. I've had arccos for several years and never had any issue with them loosening in the bag. The putter one has, but I have a strokelab putter and it doesn't go in all the way so that makes sense. However it isn't something I would worry about. We also have a Arccos users group that is great to check out if you have other questions that relate to it!
  21. Oh I know! I was more just trying to make a joke while also being sure we don't poke the bear on that one (topic) again. You are correct tho it is a example of how the rules of golf have been bifurcated already.
  22. Please no... we have talked about that rule far too much and is a endless cycle which will never be solved haha! Us mods have enough to keep an eye on right now as is! haha
  23. I think it very much depend son OEM to OEM and store to store. In addition options may be more limited to what they already are with supply chain shortages. In some cases like Callaway who have kinda 2 cycles the they will often still have Epic line ready to order even with Rogue and Rogue next year when a new line comes out. This has been the normal for them. That being said pricing often isn't any different so ordering new whether it is 2021 or 2022 models may cost the same or have very little difference ($50?). Sorry it isn't a definitive answer, but it honestly really does depend. As of right now Callaway, TM, XXIO, Mizuno and shortly Cobra will have announced all their new 2022 with no word yet on others that I'm aware of. So any of those not listed would still be on their 2021 models (Ping, Titleist, Tour Edge, Sub70 and many others)
  24. I'll just link this here for those to reference. Most of us know that companies such as Evnroll and Sub70 have been sponsors in the past and may still currently be? https://mygolfspy.com/advertise Either way this outlines their advertising packages and some options.
  25. I won't disagree that they are still one of the best. I'm sure it will improve with time and they will find a formula that works. Personally I strongly believe Ian needs to be behind the computer and camera talking about what he sees and hears in the swing and explaining the numbers. Then have someone else hitting. He has such a wealth of knowledge in terms of watching the swing and all that he almost seems to do it all when he is also the one hitting the club. Who knows what will happen in the future for them and I hope it improves. For now I'll still watch, but more likely just have them on in the background and not be as engaged as I once was.
