  1. Maybe we should have some side fun rewards with the polling feature on Fantrax? Most Improved Team, ROY, @blackngold_blood 's Best Front Office Award (we have to name it after him because we all know he would be awarded it each season), MVP player... what else? I am sure there would be some funny other awards we can give out... maybe the Commissioners can talk to the Mods and we can get some badges for them too.
  2. Week 17 Charles Schwab Challenge Recap: Another week in the books and another new winner this season on tour with Kokrak taking victory over Spieth. They were the final pairing on Saturday and held a lead over the field going into Sunday being the final pairing again. Both had shaky days, but congrats to Kokrak for pulling out the win and earning some extra points for his fantasy teams! Now can anyone tell me whether he is Canadian? American or dual citizenship? Now onto the important stuff....Our leader in the clubhouse this week was @yungkory with 208.7 points. His team was lead by Kokrak, Glover, Todd and JT. A strong performance overall and only 1 of 2 teams this week to break the 200 barrier. The second being @walnutz03(206.25)who was able to put together a full squad for this week and two very close teams to 200 in @TCUFrog(199.15) and @cnosil(198.55). All very strong performers and were our top 4 of 7 undefeated teams this week. Our full season standings did not change too much, but there was some movement up and down the board. @blackngold_blood still leads the way with a 1 game advantage over @ZJBogey2, that being said we still have 11 teams within 10 games of the lead with 100 possible wins still to be had. As for the mid field cut line battle it is still very exciting with way too many possibilities still to happen. With a big field this week and some of the biggest names on tour playing next week could determine a lot and where teams will slot in for their potential to make a run either into those final playoff spots or a push into the bonus points and a long playoff run. It is also similar to the top half of the standings where we have 13 teams within 10 games of the 35 spot. Our league median this week was a very solid 145.9 which again for those of you who have been following along is about normal if not a bit higher then the overall average. As for the Waiver Wire leftovers most were rostered by at least 1 if not more teams. Troy Merritt may be the hot add this week after a good finish and having 5 available. Hadwin will surely go for a few dollars being only 1 copy left. This was also the first week in a little while where the winner was not available to be picked up so good job everyone. As it was brought up earlier this week we will take a quick look at our Fantasy Points Scored as part of our bonus section for the week. This is the top teams based on total Fantasy points score for the season (This would be our standings in a sense had we be playing full field) It shakes out pretty well and most all the teams are there in the same area of the standings. Of course there will always be outliers, but all in all there are not too many drastic differences ie #1 team in normal standings being #15 in points scores. The next section are those hard luck teams, the teams who have had the most points scored against them. These teams likely deserve more wins, but have run up against some tough opponents and are ones to look out for when it comes playoff time. If they have a high ranking, they likely have a good squad and just some hard luck so far in the season. 9 of the 15 teams above are above the cut line and could make some noise in the playofs. Of course we expect to see some teams in the bottom 10, but surprisingly only 2. Finally we have the least points scored against. These teams I won't say have had it easy, because truthfully I don't believe anyone has, however they have got a few extra lucky bounces this season in terms of who they have played and once again there are some strong teams to look out for. I was surprised to see as many teams below the cutline here if I am honest. I was also a little happy to see that there weren't as many top 20 teams as it does for me mean that our system is working and we have some really good strong teams across the whole leaderboard. That is a wrap for week 17, we are onto Memorial where the field is great and lot of big names are playing. Here is a link if anyone wants to check out who will be there just to cross reference with Fantrax. https://www.10tv.com/article/sports/golf/pga/memorial-tournament/final-field-announced-for-2021-memorial-tournament/530-5ffb65a8-8de0-461f-9e7f-95010d5a822f Should be a great week and will be enjoyable to watch and follow along. Cheers!
  3. Glad you are enjoying the program and it has been successful for you. Also very glad that our testing and reviews have helped you in your purchase and time with this. Certainly does help us know we have done a good job and that the MGS Testing system works! Keep up the progress and congrats on shooting under par!
  4. It's been over a year since I posted in this, but I did actually play several rounds with this setup last season before moving to Europe and left this set in Canada with my folks. The driver that was left behind was my old Cobra FlyZ+ blue. A oldy but a goody. I also added a 5 wood (Callaway Rogue) 7 wood (Cobra F7) Hybrid Taylormade Burner. So some older clubs, but eventually when I go back I'll be happy to use them again. The biggest thing of note for this set of clubs was I lost no confidence in using the irons. Distances were a little behind, but they look so darn good and feel even better. I was a little surprised and although I didn't use Arccos or can recall exactly what I shot, I know I enjoyed it and had a good time and made plenty of birdies so they couldn't have been that bad or difficult to hit!
  5. May has been kinda a write off. It has been the rainiest May in over 30 years here! Thankfully calling for a nice long summer so can't wait for that and hoping to get plenty of golf in during that time! However when the sun is out the dogs are loving it!
  6. I joined the party and ordered one as a early birthday gift to myself. Nice to see shipping available outside the US, not sure when that changed but happy it did!
  7. Second this. You can switch back and forth or add in new/old clubs relatively easily. What I like is that the history of your older clubs is kept so you can easily compare information between them. The only thing I came across was sensors not repairing, however anytime that happened Arccos was awesome and sent out a new one the same day and would get it shortly after (I lived in Canada so I would think the states would get them quicker). Either way it gives you a easy way to compare between the two without having two accounts.
  8. The word fluke came in when I made a joke about my championship last year and it being a fluke because of the best ball format. The one thing i can point to do far this season is total fantasy points earned the top teams are still the top teams so it's working this way, but I am sure we will all be happy to have it back to full field play regardless of starting 4 or best ball. Here is the top however many based off fantasy points scored to date including today.
  9. I know the feeling with Grace... Already dropped him.
  10. Good job Jamie... make a last minute switch to Grace because he is owned by more guys and go away from your go to gut guy in Whaley who has been so solid... also didn't bother dropping him for the player I wanted and now he WD. That is easily the worst move I have had so far this season.
  11. Oh I know 2 golden tickets would never be awarded. Nor do I think we would expect that to happen. I think we have enough time between now and next season to really see what everyone wants... the main thing for me regardless of format we need to keep it at 60 so we can play everyone each week. That is the only must for me... even if it means we have a "B" league that plays into the "A" league I think it is important we get that format back for next year.
  12. Are you saying my championship last year was a fluke? Haha do I need a * beside it haha I agree completely with what you are saying and picking starters. Rewards more time spent researching and digging deep into it all, but I understand the appeal to best ball format to the masses. Again i think next year it could be worth looking at two leagues. Even if it means the prize may get diminished a bit. We certainly have the interest and size to do both.
  13. I think it should go under consideration for next season to maybe have 2 separate leagues. For most who are a bit more casual the best ball format is great. Dont have to pay as much attention and less kinda luck involved. I like both formats. Picking your 4 starters is great, just sucks when you leave someone good on the bench. Preferably for me we get the teams down to 60 again (should be easy enough to do with the MIA teams this year) and have best ball format and play everyone. I don't know all the ins and outs of he system so not sure what it is entirely capable of. Can we do a split? Lock two in and take best of the rest from your team? Or pick 6 and best of those count? Something that is between both formats?
  14. Naw I just want to hoard players who have potential. There was someone i wanted to pick up and drop Grace, but grace was playing this week and the other wasn't so I'll risk the waiver wire Monday.
  15. Really wish we just had a reserve spot on the roster for a player who we could designate to not play. It is one of the things I like about IR spots in football is it gives you a chance to hold onto players you are a little on the fence about and can provide some possible trade capital as well. I know we have plenty of spaces with 8 on a team, but seems like every week there is a player I want to pick up off waivers, but can't justify dropping one of the other players I have on my roster.
  16. Well now i'm hungry.... great intro and will be good to see how the wide works out for you.
  17. Well according to this is currently ranked 193 in cuts made with 2... he does have 9 missed cuts. However Austin Cook, Adam Long and Zhang all have him beat with 10 missed cuts! So guess he isn't the worst to roster? He does also have a top 10... yeah I have no idea why he is being rostered....
  18. Great starts all! Love the intros and getting a bit of a sneak peak so far. As stated in the previous thread I had a list of questions for you guys. -How did you each select the putter you have now for testing? -I know it will be covered in the review, but outside of the head itself quick thoughts on the black shaft and grip? Would the grip be something you would replace or what is it similar to? -Last did it come with a head cover? If not (I saw 1 MGS head cover) what will be protecting this new beauty you are testing? Cheers!
  19. It has been really funny seeing all the Zalatoris trades and who seems to want to take the risk on him hitting. I think he may be the most traded player and has been in some great trades so far... where will he go next!
  20. @xOldBenKenobiX is the lucky winner!
  21. Still 1 Phil left of the board! Who is going to swoop in and pick him up?
  22. Ping will be coming out with their new irons likely at the end of August or so. The i210 are nearly 3 years old now so I would expect for one the irons that comes out to be a replacement for them. That being said they are still a great iron and play very well... if you will be disappointed with a new iron replacing it I would 100% hold off to avoid that feeling even though they are a stellar club.
  23. Week 16: PGA Championship Recap I don't think anyone expected that to happen! Huge congrats to lefty and a historic performance. @SNickyD123 was the only team to roster Phil this week. I will admit I saw his name on the waiver wire and gave it a thought for a quick second, but figured it would be a missed cut for him. Also to add in the final hole to me felt like this.... A crazy scene that I am sure a new thread can be made of it... either way what a week and now onto our all important standings. @blackngold_blood has retained his lead way up the standings as his team split 5-5, however he is tied with @Undershooter at 102 wins. Our standings in the top 15 are quite tight and haven't separated as much as I thought they were going to with 13 teams within 10 games of the top spot. Our High Scoring Team of the Week goes to: Tony Finau and Major Champs aka@cwojtowicz lead the way with 252.25. His team was lead by Koepka, Oosthuizen, Woodland and Finau who all had solid weeks. This was another very high scoring week as we gain bonus points for major finishes therefore despite higher scores (on course) we still got a top 3 weekly score for the season. Out undefeated weekly 10's are rounded out by the following. The League Median ended up being 142.3 which is slightly above average on our season so far. Our 35 Cut Line has seen some more separation and even though we still have a good portion of the season left (11 weeks of play), but I can't help but feel that the battle there is getting more intense and more important each and every week. I mean 7 games is not much and can easily be made up in a week, but it certainly means no off weeks for these teams! Once again the winner has been available on the Waiver Wire, showing its importance and how much of a difference it can make. Although not quite as many big scorers as previous weeks, still some great players available (as I post this I did no realize Grace/Bez had such poor Sundays even though they were dropped from coverage) Going along with this theme we have 9 teams with $10 or less left in their budget and 9 teams with their full budget (although I do believe some of those teams are mia), we are still seeing significant bids on players each week with teams making bigger plays to get the guys they want. This being shown by 6 bids over $10 last week alone! This is also a good lead into a new topic or issue that is going to arise in the coming weeks as chase our playoff positioning. We will start to see some bigger names who are under performing hitting the waiver wire. Example I see Adam Scott was just dropped. This starts to become more common as the playoff picture becomes more clear. Last season we had some pretty big names on waivers which could have made for a great on paper fantasy team. I will be interested to see when people decide to pull the cord on guys who are under performing and not likely going to be in their potential playoff run. No need to name players as many of them have been mentioned previously. In any case it will be interesting to see who will pick them up and take on the risk of them coming back to form or if nobody bites. Either way as teams start to like their rosters trades will be harder to come by and the waiver wire will become all the more important. And with that we wrap up another week and our second major of the season. With only having 2 majors left it now feels to me as though we are in the final stretch till playoffs even though we are not. For next week we have the Charles Schwab Challenge which should have a decent field and potentially some bounce back candidates for this week. Cheers everyone and good luck with all the potential roster changes moving into this important stretch of our season!
  24. I think Fowlers lip out on 18 is going to cost a match or two. Have several close ones and with the bonus finished in majors it will be tight. Thankfully have 3 in top 10 and hopefully last in top 25.
