I always mark mine with a smiley face.  How can you not be smiling when you first tee off?  You have the perfect round going! 🤣

I put 4 blue dots at the points of an internal tetrahedron (4-sided solid; 3-sided pyramid) so that one of them is always showing upward.  One dot at either end of the alignment marking then flip it over and put one at one end of each labeling.
(imagine this inside the ball, a dot at each vertice)
If there happens to be a free printing offer going on, my motto will read "The hardest shot from which to recover is a good drive"

    That's cool!
If I still had younger kids, I would have let them draw all over the balls, like they did for Easter egg painting !

I draw a thick black line along the equator. On the greens, I point the line on the ball down the line to your target, then square your putter to it.  I believe this is the best way to lining up putts with the help of alignment lines which is also a common sight on the PGA Tour

Usually just a Sharpie dot (red, green or orange ) on the number and “T” with the side stamp.  Tested the Maxfli Tour with the enhanced alignment aid and filled in the sides with a Sharpie to get better feedback on putts.

A similar thing happened to me. The difference was that my ball was in my fairway, and the group one fairway over "found" their ball... which was my ball. That's the trigger that led me to my "dump a sharpie on it" method of marking my ball.
I'd would guess those marking their ball with a single dot, or something small like that, have not played at a cramped muni in a while.

Since I have been using the Maxfli Tour X I started coloring the big arrow for clarity during the testing videos. Now I just do it because it is easier to aim and I always know which ball is mine.

I don't have a picture but it is easy enough to explain. I simply draw a stick figure on the ball, round head, and the rest just basic lines, that is it.

Used to use 3 dot triangle (for over 10 years I never saw another one) then I came across one that was same make/model/number as me but had scuffs I didn’t put there within a couple yards of my ball in the rough. Had a brief talk with the owner about our similar markings and have been looking for a replacement ever since. Have been just noting the number lately. I DO keep a ball randomly marked and NOT matching what is in my bag for a specific hole on a certain course. Guy built a house in the “slice zone” and often came out to harass and berate golfers that dared to miss right and land one in his yard. He came running up to me with said “plausible deniability” ball and started yelling. I pulled a dozen similarly marked Bridgestone BXS out of my bag and said “I don’t play that ball, see!” Look on his face was priceless.  Bro tells me the gent has passed on, but now the course has a lady that puts her baby in a stroller and walks the edges of the holes near the road that are shielded by trees. They not visible from the tees. She yells at golfers that land a ball anywhere near her. Bro had a run in with her, he apologized nicely 5 times and she kept gnawing at the bone. Finally he said, “ lady, I apologized 5 times, what more do you want? Go $&@* yourself!”

I use a large S on mine. The last thing I need in a round is some muppet hitting the wrong ball. Generally, in blue, yellow, or red as I like bright colours

To make white ones easier to find, I took a magic marker, bright red, and just slathered on a rectangle about 1 inch by .25 inch, 4 or 5 swipes wide.  Or a longer stripe 3 swipes wide.  I tell co-players, mine has red lipstick.  Never mind little dots or initials.

Three small red dots (triangle) next to both numbers. Been marking my golf balls this way for many years and have run into very few similar markings.

I use Red magic marker and put 3 dots at the right end of the manufacturer's name on both sides. If the ball doesn't have an alignment line, I add that too. Photos are of example ball.

This is my mini golden doodle, Honey. She is a whole 2 years old. She likes to hoard her toys or whatever else she can get a hold of. When I try to chip around in the backyard, she will gather any golf balls I hit and refuse to give them back. She's been a great dog when she behaves. lol

So yesterday I had one of my more interesting rounds ever. Which prompted me in my mind to want to hear some other fun/interesting stories from other forum members.
    My round yesterday:
I went out yesterday evening for a quick 18 at my home course. I had gone to the driving range the day before. Not abnormal right? I have a cart bag and a stand bag. I'm usually terrible about swapping my clubs into the stand bag for the range but I actually did it the night before. Flash forward to coming up to hole 1 tee box, I'm on the phone with my wife and waiting for the people in front of me to tee off. I go to grab my driver and get some practice swings off. I am shocked to realize I don't have my driver. I had cleaned all of my clubs earlier and put them back in my cart bag...except my driver, which didn't need a cleaning. Now I'm 20 minutes from home with no driver. On top of that, my longest club is a 3 wood that I haven't used in 3 months. I had just brought it back to hit at the range the night before and hit it well so I wanted to have the option to give it a go if I felt confident. I think I am in for a long 18 because I just haven't played this club at all, and my next longest is a 7 wood (200 yards) 4 Iron (195-200 yards) or 4 hybrid (205-210 yards). I ended up having one of the most fun, interesting, challenging and shocking rounds I've had.
Now to teeing off. I decide to hit my 3 wood, since the driving range went well and looking down at it I feel confident. I thought about the 7 wood or hybrid but felt good with the practice swings. First shot is a beautiful fade (just a bit too much) to under the trees about 100 yards from the hole. End up with a bogey after a great punch out to the fringe of the green, great chip and then bad 2 putt. Hole two I wouldn't normally use my driver anyways so I played it how I normally would. Hole 3 is a beast 600 yards up hill almost the entire way. I hit a great 3 wood shot for about 250 yards, then hit a second great 3 wood shot for about another 250-260 yards, leaving me a 90 yard shot and I end up birdieing the whole. Hole 4, again, 500 yard par 5, thinking to myself at some point the 3 wood is coming back to earth. I step up and hit a 240 yard shot off the tee box, then a 230 yard perfect draw 3 wood shot to the edge of the green, another birdie...
I'm not going to play-by-play my whole round but I didn't hit a single bad shot with a club I literally put in the back of the closet 3 months ago to gather cobwebs. (I only remembered I had it while organizing the closet to sell some clubs). I finished with one of my better overall scoring rounds but easily a top 3 most fun rounds I played. I shot 75 and now the 3 wood will firmly stay in the bag for the time being. I even felt comfortable enough by hole 10 to actively try and hit some fades or draws with it. It just felt weird to have an incredible round when one of my favorite clubs wasn't in my bag or used and a club I was going to put on the sell list if I didn't hit it well at the range.
Anyone have any similar stories or just some fun stories to tell? Love to hear them!

Day 119 (15 May 24) - Worked with the SW in the backyard, short pitches from 10yds up to 30yds.   Focused on ball placement in stance - ball back, ball forward, ball center.  Afterwards moved to inside the shop to work on putting pace on the rug - putting one way gives about an 8' putt, going the other a 6' before bumping onto the adjacent rug.  Focused there on the line - picking a target point about 18"-24" out and making sure the ball rolls through that point.

Agree with you on that, but fwiw, I need to also spend time on longer lags .. eg 20 and 30 feet .. to get those feels for distance control, as that may be a lot of my first putts that I'll want to get close...

Worked on my weekly Chipping and Putting process.  One thing that has help me, is that I stop using the range balls for practicing the chips/putts. I use what I normally play with (MaxFli Tour X or TM Tour Response) this keeps the consistency of how the chips and putts react in the practice green and when I take to the course there is no difference in the feel or reaction.

    60 degrees Wedge -  6 shots only, evaluate and reset  - 3 x Times.
    56 degrees Wedge -  6 shots only, evaluate and reset  - 3 x Times.

Putting:  3 putts  each from North, South, East and West.
                   3ft,  5ft , 8ft.
This is MY standard length I practice with. You will more likely have this kind of length to make a putt either for birdie to to save par ( or bogey).
Anything longer than that, you have not fine tune your wedge game. 🤣
