  1. 1) Yes, absolutely 2) Yes, still using it. In fact, I wish I was using it more. Sometimes I can't get to it because...life, but in a perfect world I would go through a couple protocols daily. 3) It has definitely helped me. If you're researching this, then you should be able to find the 7-day protocol on their web site with the short green band. (The other protocols become accessible once you buy it and register your purchase.) The first protocol really trains a proper takeaway, which was very beneficial to me because I tend to whip it inside too early. Another protocol (fourth I think) has you resisting the band at the top of your backswing, another one invaluable to me in terms of generating a lot more width in the backswing. How it specifically helps you depends on your own swing faults I suppose, but I'm convinced it's helped me. 4) I know you said one thing, but...a) don't jump in full bore, follow the protocols exactly as prescribed. b) Don't use it to the point of fatigue. Many of the protocols require you to resist the band...if you start losing the battle with the band because you're fatigued I think you risk teaching yourself some bad habits.
  2. SuperSpeed ASD 1 this morning, then... Barbell Curls - 100, reps at 14, 4, 3, 2 Hammer Curls - 55s, reps at 9, 3, 1, 1 Box Jumps - 3 sets of 5 Leg Press Calves - 200, 12 reps Single-Leg Deadlifts - 50s, 2 sets of 10 Leg Press - 600 for a straight set of 14, 450 for a 20-rep widowmaker Overall, I'm starting to lay plans for a mid-to-late January transition into more of an emphasis on power and explosive movements. I plan to make that transition once I hit 202 and can say I've gained 20 pounds of mass. From that point on the programming will change...the diet won't for a couple more months.
  3. Sigh. Started out the season strong, then...not so much. Best of luck to the playoff contenders. When does fantasy golf start?
  4. I think I read somewhere he's $1,200 an hour. But if you're buying a second home in Vegas, maybe you can swing it. Private jet between homes too?
  5. I think if you buy a house in Vegas I give it 2 weeks before you're posting about the first of your lessons with Butch...
  6. Right?! That's one part of the bag where I'd need some consistency. I'm going to upgrade to SM8's (probably) soon and while there is a lot less wear on my 54 than my 58, both of them are being replaced. In other words, I won't mix an SM8 with an SM7 (silly I know), can't imagine different OEMs altogether. Not saying there is necessarily anything wrong with it if it works for you, I'm just too particular probably.
  7. Definitely a great time too do it; I'm refinancing our Nebraska house. VA refinance...2.25%, down a whole point. We thought about doing our house in Maryland to but will probably sell it. That one is on my wife's VA loan; we've had tenants for the past 5 years. My plan is to acquire houses, eventually build some casinos, and ultimately run for president...
  8. The Bridgestone Tour BXS. If you haven't tried it, don't unless you're willing to switch to it from whatever you game! I have heard some say it's too spinny for them, but all in all it's a great ball...I kicked my Pro V1 habit for good with them.
  9. Yeah, maybe Al Gore was right and I'll be playing more in the winter...
  10. 5; Honma driver, Tour Edge fairway, Titleist hybrids and wedges, Mizuno irons, EVNROLL putter. I was fit for all of them, in one fashion or another. In fact, the least in depth fitting was the driver...that was over-the-phone due to COVID for the MGS test.
  11. 39 - 43 for a less than stellar 82. All in all I can't complain too much, I was playing golf in Nebraska in December. The game suffered from a very rusty short game...I had the touch and feel of a guy who hasn't been able to play or practice in a month due to weather. Here's a picture of the course and the conditions...everything pretty browned out and dormant... Wednesday is supposed to hit a record high of 64, so I'll be back out again and probably get some range time in before and after too.
  12. Super Speed Level 3, followed by: Dumbbell Incline Press - 75s, reps at 11, 2, 1, 1 Arnold Press - 55s, reps at 11, 3, and 1 Cable Pressdowns - 160, reps at 14, 6, 3, 1 Trap Bar Deadlifts - 380, 2 x 5 Honestly, my first discouraging workout in a while. I was cruising right along but then hit deadlifts and got one less rep for each set than I did 2 weeks ago, the last time I deadlifted. And, the problem was grip more than anything else...I could have gotten another rep or two if my grip hadn't failed at 5. I really don't want to buy/use straps, I feel like if I do that my grip will never strengthen by itself. Still, first time not making any real progress on a lift since I started this experiment...has me a little bummed.
  13. 193.4 on the scale today, almost a half pound gain from last week but a net loss of a half pound from 2 weeks ago...not the mass gain pace I would like to be on. Going to increase total calories by 100, which should be a 500 calorie surplus.
  14. So I know a teaching pro who told me a great story. He once was about to give a lesson, and when he was approaching the guy he watched him loudly yell and scold some kids near him who were bashing some balls and having a little fun...kids were 10-12ish. The pro watched him take 5-7 swings, then told him “I want you to do this drill. Hold the club in your right hand only, and swing it back and forth parallel to parallel, and feel your forearm rotate. Do this for 20 minutes.” Pro then went back inside for a while, and eventually came back out when 20 minutes had passed. When the student said he thought he had it down, the pro said “Good, here’s your money back, go play tennis and don’t ever come to my course and yell at kids just trying to have fun again.”
  15. Sorry if you already posted about it, but what did you do on Thanksgiving, turkey or still vegan? And how are the BP and HR?
  16. Sorry, one more follow-up, what finish? I play a lot of around-the-green shots with the face laid open, and am really hating the sun glare from my satin Vokey’s. Likely moving to black this time around, and of course once I go black...
  17. Thanks for that, I do intend to look at the T-20's too, largely because of the wet wedge test. How much bounce on that 58?
  18. Yeah, I’m going to go try some next week just because I like Mizuno abs the tech has me curious, but it will have to really wow me to get me off Vokey’s.
  19. When's the ES21 going on the market? You got one, right, in a 56? Any more feedback on that thing?
  20. Thanks man, appreciate the advice and feedback. Sometimes I think the log-style posts are boring to most, but it does seem like there's a decent amount of discussion being generated too.
  21. Had a good workout this morning, but I almost bailed on it. Almost. I've had a couple late nights this week, and getting up at 3:45 MWF is hard enough as it is. So, this morning after a Level 3 SuperSpeed workout and the arm work, I was very very tempted to hit the "f' it" button and head home. I didn't and I'm glad, turned out to be a good one. Dumbbell Curls - 55s, reps at 9, 3, 2, 1 Pinwheel Curls - 45s, reps at 14, 5, 2, 1 Box Jumps - 3 x 5 Leg Press Calf Raises - 200, 12 Bulgarian Split Squat - 60s for straight set of 10 reps, 35s for widowmaker to 20 Stiff-Legged Deadlift - 225, 12 reps I also added in the "Standing Anti-Rotation" for abs today and found it very effective and challenging. (I do abs every workout but I don't list that part of the workout in this thread.) I did it on a weight stack rather than a band, and set the stack to 40 pounds which was plenty challenging. Link below, give it a try: 3 Core Golf Exercises to Link Your Upper and Lower Body (joeydgolf.com)
  22. That's the PGA Value Guide trade-in price. I'd probably list on FB Marketplace and see if I can't get $150.
  23. Maybe this isn't the place for this thread but I have two mildly related questions. I picked up an EVNROLL several months ago, and it's clear to me it's far better for me than my old Scotty Cameron Select Silver Mist Newport 2.5. As many of you likely know, for a while Scotty's were using a sticker/decal for the red cherry bombs rather than paint, and eventually all 3 of mine fell out. (No, I didn't store it in the trunk.) I did what I think is a pretty good job of a paint fill, but I used a gloss black...at the time I figured it was my gamer for life, and I wanted something that looked a little different. With the EVNROLL having kicked the Scotty out of my bag, I'm suddenly inclined to sell off the Scotty, but to do that I feel like I'd need to return the dots to the traditional red, so does anyone know a code or specific Testor's color that's a dead match? Second, should I do that, or just attempt to sell it as is? I'm confident I'd do a good job on the paint fill, but part of me wonders if that's a little unethical of me to simply paint it with Testors to look like "stock" condition. Thoughts?
  24. Yeah, definitely hit or miss. As @cksurfdudealluded to, the trick and challenge with them is finding the right coach among the staff. I've had a great experience at GolfTec, but I did my research on their site...among all of their bios, some looked okay, but one guy was the Nebraska PGA Teacher of the Year five times. Kind of an easy decision. Even having the credentials didn't mean I would gel with the guy, but I got lucky and I did. And he's only broken out one training aid, a Tour Striker Smart Ball.
  25. Nice buy. Why averse to black though? I'm strongly leaning towards black SM8's in my next wedge. I have satin finish right now and at the right/wrong time of day I get a hellacious glare off the clubface when I lay it open...I'm thinking black would negate that.
