  1. Damn - I missed the cut off and used the wrong iron (0 for 2) - I had a 6 iron go 235 (somehow) the other day during an outing. It was a par 4 with a small creek running through the fairway at 235 mark - hit a 6 iron as I thought it would be safe. Well.....it wasn't. found the water and had to drop and ended up with a double. Still not sure how this thing went that far.
  2. Probably waaay out of my price range still - but very intrigued by the GC3 that is just coming out. I have the SkyTrak, but definitely intrigued by this.
  3. Received my TSI3 2 hybrid. I like it, but think I prefer the 818 H2 even more. Also, kept my previous Tensei Blue shaft over the Hzrdus Black RDX. The RDX would be a great driver shaft, but just gives too flat of a ball flight for hybrid. Not a large upgrade thus far, but have found that small mishits are still going a great distance. So, maybe an improvement there.
  4. I picked some of the most random I could think of since usually I'll feel like I have insight and then I'll be out by day 2.
  5. Possibly - although I can't see myself using it that often. I've never been the best at judging distance on a flop shot. I do like the 54 and 58 I have, but I'm sure I would like the new wedges just as much once I dialed in the distance. My drawback is that it's taken a lot of golf and practice to know my distances as well as I do. Do I want to jeopardize that? It's lacking for sure - I go from Driver straight to 2 hybrid. Mainly because I find that a 3 wood isn't all that much more accurate than driver off the tee so I don't hit it except on the rare occasion that I have 265+ left into a par 5 that I am going for. I can hit the 2 hybrid about 235 - 250 if needed. If conditions are normal and dry, I am able to get to most par 5's with the combo of driver - 2 hybrid. That's surprising to hear - i feel that if I have a full swing with a wedge, I'm more accurate with distance control and maybe even with dispersion than a partial distance. I am able to control trajectory and spin fairly well so it has not been a problem.
  6. I got out Friday evening for a quick 9 holes. Nothing spectacular, but starting to trust my distances with the T100-s a bit more. They are nearly 8-10 yards longer on average. My best shot came from the tough par 3 11th hole. It was playing 212 yards and I hit a terrific 5 iron to 5 feet. Also a couple other approaches that were better than average and gave me great looks at birdie. Score - 36 (2 birdies and 2 bogeys) FIR - 3 GIR - 6 Putts - 15
  7. Trying to figure out what I should put in the bag for my 14th club? I had a 3 hybrid, driving iron and 3 wood in the past. I definitely find that I am hitting shorter clubs primarily so wondering if I could rework my wedge gapping so i have a full swing more often. Currently have PW - 44 - GW 49 - SW - 54 and LW -58. Yardages as follows: PW - 133 - 150 GW - 114 - 132 SW - 99 - 113 LW 80 - 98 79 and less dependent on situation for SW or LW. Maybe going something more to PW 44 - GW - 48, GW - 52, SW - 56 - LW 60 Just not quite sure honestly. I know my yardages fairly well and don't mind taking a little off my shots as needed. However, I previously did not carry a 58* and was happy that I added that to my bag once I really learned the yardarge.
  8. Geez - just now saw this.....sorry in the delay. I ended up trying a hybrid then a couple other driving irons over the years that I did not really get along with. Now, I know much more about what will work and pretty happy with my hybrid and driving iron. I did find another one soon after, but they wanted like $140 for the club and it was not the correct shaft and I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger.
  9. Added my full 18 round in the Titleist test thread, but also played 9 holes last Friday. Drove the ball really well, but only show3 fairways hit. Several were just off and hit very solid. T100-S were very good and had a couple birdie looks from great Gap Wedge shots land to 7 feet (made 1 of 2). Controlled the distance pretty well for the most part. Although I did hit a couple that flew about 6-8 yards longer than expected. Still have to work on that with these clubs. 38 FIR - 3 GIR - 5 Putts - 16
  10. I've been looking to update my hybrid after i cracked the face on the range recently of my 3 hybrid, I was worried the same thing might happen to my 2 hybrid. Long story short, I received a new 818 H2 3 hybrid from Titleist, but while it was getting exchanged, I didn't have the need for it whatsoever. Thus I sold that club and used proceeds to buy the new TSI3 2 hybrid to update my current 818 H2 19*. I know that the TSI3 was lower in the most wanted hybrid rankings, but I've always loved the shape and performance of the 818 h2. When I had a hybrid fitting a couple years ago - nothing came close to the distance and accuracy that I was getting with this. Hoping the new version is just an update on this. I got it with the Hzrdus Smoke RDX shaft which I like, but will go back to the Tensei Blue if results change too much.
  11. My grandpa used to use one like this for over 30 years. He was deadly around the greens, but actually went as far back as 120 yards to use this thing. I believe it had similar loft to an 8 iron roughly so he'd play bump and runs from further out. I've seen him hit a lot of hole outs with this club. Hopefully it's kind to you.
  12. Was this after a certain TXG video saying they might be even easier to hit than the T300's?
  13. Second round in the books with my T100 -S irons. Also the second round with my new Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5 putter. It might be new putter fever and in a honeymoon period, but it felt great yesterday. More details on the round the comments section of the Titleist Iron Testing Thread. 72 - 39/33 FIR - 7 GIR - 10 Putts 28
  14. Congratulations @blackngold_blood. I still shake my head at some of the trades and how you were able to get that many top 10 players on your team.
  15. Had my first round yesterday with the T100-S. I posted it in the comments part of the T Series topic. Long story short - still some work to do, but score was better than it should have been based on ball striking. 77 8 FIR 11 GIR 30 Putts
  16. Sorry fellas, I had to end up auto drafting as well. I didn't realize we had family pictures planned last night so it pushed everything back from my normal schedule.
  17. Ah - good call, but I only keep one sleeve for myself and give the others out to the customers. I might sneak in a regular pro v1 sleeve in this case so I can keep the Left Dot......shhhhh
  18. Just a perfect day here in Indiana today. I went to a course with a great practice area and just hit a lot of chips and pitches from 25 yards to 60 yards. Switching back and forth between my 54* and 58* to find out what feels more comfortable and yields the most consistent results. I found that I have better luck on pitches 40 yards and in with my lob wedge and control other shots to around 65 yards with my 54*. At 70 yards begins my 3/4 lob wedge which is usually good for me. Will experiment more to find out if there is merit to this.
  19. Thanks for the write up - we've stayed in Sea Pines the past 3 years and really love the feel of it for the family and I love all of the golf there too of course. I was set to play Harbour Town this year when we went in June, but they had punched the greens two days before our trip so I decided against it. Atlantic Dunes is a very fun course that I played last year if you get the chance. Certainly not as iconic, but a lot easier on the wallet.
  20. I bit the bullet for a dozen as well - Have been using a spinnier ball in the Tour B XS. But also rotate to the TP5X, ProV1, and Tour B X. I know I should stick to one ball, but they all perform fairly close for me and have been good balls. Probably prefer Bridgestone most days.
  21. Saw the Titleist Left Dot story and placed an order for a dozen balls. Normally I wouldn't, but I've got a customer outing coming up on the 22nd of September, so it'll be on the company's dime.
  22. I can tell you from experience as a Colt's fan and seeing him last year, he definitely still has a bit left in the tank. He had an pretty good year to get us through for an 11-5 season, but keep in mind his arm strength isn't much anymore and we have a top 5 Offensive line along with rookie running back to rush over 1100 yards. On top of that our defense was top 10 and kept many games manageable and low scoring.
  23. Thanks man - hoping they fit well. I had tried the Flint series in a 1/2 size larger and had some heel slip issues. Hoping I found the right fit and these work out.
  24. Thanks for the write up - I will have to try to complete these other courses. I have lived in the Indianapolis area all my life and grew up about 2 minutes from Maple Creek Golf and Country Club. I've played The Fort around 40 times in my life and it remains my favorite in the area. Brickyard is nice, but not a favorite (played about 5 times). I have heard amazing things about the Purdue courses and will need to make my way out there soon.
  25. After a few morning rounds lately, I was slipping all over the place in my Nike 270G shoes. Also, I wanted a bit more traditional looking golf shoe, so I found these for a fantastic price and had to pull the trigger! Footjoy Premiere Packard x Tweed
