  1. I've been to HHI a few years now. Have played a couple courses, but nothing crazy. I played Atlantic Dunes last year and had a great time. Played Palmetto Dunes - RTJ this year and didn't like it as much. Crescent Pointe was inexpensive and ok value comparatively. I played Palmetto Hall - Hills course and thought value for money was quite good and some nice holes. Playing Oyster Reef today so I will try and update after.
  2. Nice work, always keep an eye out for your posts because obviously I'm going to take a fellow Lefty's take more seriously! Lol jk, but am i really.........
  3. Great question. I've been trying for the past year to use a wedge matrix so that I know my yardages for 1/2, 3/4 and full wedge shots with my lob and sand wedges. I find that it helps to take some of the guess work out of the shot and I can swing a bit more confidently. For pitch/chip shots, I prefer to hit my 54* on just about everything except if I have to take it upstairs and stop very quickly.
  4. On vacation this week in Hilton Head and able to fit in a few rounds. Played Palmetto Dunes - Robert Trent Jones course. This was the first time I've played this course and while not my favorite, was in good shape and had some nice holes. Had a few errant tee shots that cost me a few strokes and my putting was not stellar, but overall was really happy with my game today. 38/39 - 77 3 birdies - (2 chip ins, 1 putt made) - missed 2 other looks from around 8 ft. 10 greens 7 fairways
  5. Haven't made many changes thus far. I'm definitely open to new shiny things in the bag, just haven't found anything to push me over the edge just yet to make the purchase. I'd be willing to try something different for a putter if I really found something I could have some confidence with. Fairly happy with my current putter but not over the moon either. Wedges same thing. Pretty happy with performance, but there could be something better out there. My big year for changes is likely coming next year as I think I'll be getting new irons and a new driver. In the past, I've traded my old stuff in, I don't think I'll do that this go around since I think I have pretty good equipment. Hearing myself say that out loud makes me rethink doing anything. I'm just going to take my indecisive self off off here.....
  6. Damn - these fittings from you and @dlow206 just keep making more angry at Edel for not offering anything for a Left Handed golfer. Would be nice if they tried to do something.
  7. I could be in dependent on location as I would be driving. Having something planned out to 2022 would be beneficial for me.
  8. This will be my 14th year trying to get tickets. I sign up everyday and practice rounds.
  9. Played one of my favorite courses in the area - The Fort Golf Course, and did something that I usually do not do at this course. Played the tips, which played long in the mist this morning and play 7150 yards as is with a course rating of 75. Luckily I was driving the ball well, but just put myself in a couple bad positions from the middle of the fairway. Also, could not get a chip/pitch shot inside 10 feet and my putting was atrocious. Feel was bad all day and the short game really let me down. Turned in an 84, which was the highest score I could have gotten today I think. Some mediocre putting and chipping could have shaved several off of that and I likely would have broken 80. Heading to Hilton Head for a week and get to pay a couple rounds while there. Looking forward to a vacation with the family and hoping for some nice weather.
  10. Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
  11. I've had similar experience, but mine dates to an actual club. In college I had a 4 year old Hibore hybrid that I actually hit a hole in the face. Probably too many rocks, I mean range balls. No questions asked, they sent me a new club (updated to the latest similar type) for free. Something I'll always remember, even 13 years later. That went such a long way for a broke college kid.
  12. Looking forward to The Memorial. Always one I try to watch as I enjoy the course and it's a good field. We went about 7/8 years ago and had a great time. A lot of tight tee shots, deep rough and tall trees to maneuver around if you aren't hitting fairways.
  13. That is true, which is why I've kept him on the team for so long. Knowing how fast he can switch things up, I am looking for a good player in return.
  14. Thanks for shedding more light on how truly awful Dustin Johnson has been for me this year.
  15. The full face cleveland zipcore wedges have me intrigued. It's hard for me to try something other than my vokey's as I know the feel from using them the past 13 years. Probably will wait until I do a club champion fitting in the winter so I can hit a lot of different options.
  16. I get what you mean. Article name is more about something eye popping and bringing in readership. You will see posted all over MGS that it's more about fitting for individual and these are just the guide based on data they represent. I prefer that it's real golfers with varying swing speeds and handicaps participating in the test rather than a robot. You bring up a good point that there could be a subset, not just of swing speed, but handicap. Most likely the lower handicaps should have better ball striking opposed to the others and you could get an idea of what could work best. I wonder about my own swing and fittings. They say your swing is fairly consistent, but I've had a few where it really feels off and the ball flight is not what I'm used to seeing with my equipment or the demo clubs. I'm not going to commit to buy something when that happens.
  17. Great point and one of the things I'll miss the most. There is still some good commentary. Example the Spieth wedge shot at Colonial on Thursday I think. Another great point here. I think it can help a player gain some momentum and you can at times feel the buzz from the tournament. A bit conflicted myself as I also like the ability to see a bit more of the course with fewer fans. However, I think what they were able to do with the drones and things at the PGA was fantastic.
  18. Only a couple more days - curious how the winner will be chosen this time. Was very unique on the first go around. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend.
  19. Very nice - thanks for adding all the detail. Would love to some day have a putting green in the back yard, but probably won't be as fortunate to have it as large.
  20. Course showed great on tv, but still didn't realize how deep some of those greenside bunkers were. Definitely a challenging test for a great PGA Championship. As a fellow lefty that has followed and rooted for Phil my whole like, I was ecstatic to see him get the Win.
  21. Had a couple pairs of these last year, but ended up getting rid of them. Comfortable shoes with very nice traction for a spikeless. Word of caution, they are going to be very stiff compared to the codechaos and most other shoes for the matter. Think of more of a dress shoe with a very comfortable insole. Leather was soft and nice, but due to that creased very quickly as you can imagine.
  22. Would love to see the action or some trackman numbers to help dial it in. From your initial post, it doesn't sound like a terrible issue if it's straight majority of time. I play a fade like that on purpose for more control. Sure a draw could get me 10 more yards most likely, but I can control my ball much better.
  23. Usually dependent on the field, time of year, and the golf course. I'm watching more golf leading up to the Masters and really catch the bug around the Waste Mgt for the upcoming year. The Players Championship Memorial Waste Management Bay Hill Probably a couple others I cannot think of, but those are the main ones that spring to mind. I do like to watch Riveria and Pebble Beach tourney's too. Oh and also since the one at Harbour Town since we get down to Hilton Head from time to time and know the area/course.
  24. Still going strong. Working out nearly everyday, some days are more strenuous than others. Trying to eat healthy, but not go so crazy that I can't maintain for long term. Hit 208 the other day and getting closer to my goal of 195. Down to about 15% body fat as well. I care more about how I feel and the body fat number than the actual number (weight), which i see as more of a guideline.
  25. I am getting rid of my FJ Premiere Flint series as their are some major fit issues in the heel. Wonder what is going on with FJ these days.
