  1. Oosthuizen missed one inside 18 inches earlier today
  2. it’s amazing how quickly a 5 shot lead can disappear
  3. I was torn between my wedges and my putter. I choose wedges. I don’t hit the ball a long way anymore and I don’t hit a lot of greens either so I rely on my short game to score. I get up and down a lot! I choose wedges because I leave myself inside 5 feet quite a bit.
  4. TBT

    Happy thread

Hey I want to be in on of those states having drawings for a million bucks for getting vaccinated! T-minus 3 weeks until I head for Cancun!! I’ve got a round scheduled at El Camelaon where the hold the Mayakoba Classic
  5. Looks like a nice course. I play in 15-20 mph winds all the time this time of year, you learn to flight the ball down and club up at least 2 clubs. Cant wait to see your pics from the course this weekend
  6. Yeah...me too but I don’t have the radar so I’d have to get that too
  7. My contest entry is toast...tied for 91st
  8. Maybe I spoke too soon, he’s rallying back
  9. I appreciate it. That’s one of the things I’ve been really working on is trying to start my backswing by moving my hips and rotating my body instead of pulling back with my hands and arms.
  10. They make a HUGE deal out of the wind, yes I know it’s windy....but that’s pretty much spring golf here in Southeast Texas...most days the wind is 10-15 with gusts of 20 mph + and bad days it’s 15-20 steady with gusts up to 25 - 30 mph. I guess these guys are just so used to playing in perfect conditions.
  11. I see one of these electric carts in my future, but since I no longer have a pushcart I’m trying to decide if I want to buy a new pushcart with an E wheels conversion or just go ahead and buy a pure electric car like a Motocaddy, MGI Zip Navigator or Bat Caddy.
  12. Got a quick round in early this morning in between rounds of thunderstorms (damn I hate cart path only golf!) The course was really wet after several days of rain so I wasn’t getting any roll out at all.. The only good news with that as you could really go at flags because the ball was sticking on all the greens. I’ve really been struggling with getting the club stuck behind me especially on shorter irons And hitting a lot of short, right fat shots. I’ve worked hitting some balls into the net in the garage the last several days really trying to extend my trail arm as far as I could straight back to keep from getting the club too far inside and creating more space for my downswing. It feels kind of awkward but the results seem to be there because I really didn’t have more than one or two shots that I felt stuck on today. i’m continuing to hit my driver pretty good hitting on 11 out of 13 fairways and because I was able to really attack some of the flags with short irons, I ended up only having 30 putts for the round. 43 + 41 = 84 first sub 85 round in awhile
  13. Damn, Spieth played really well from tee to green but the club he relied on forever, his putter, let him down. 3 putts from 18 feet on his final hole to finish +4 and on the verge of not making the cut.
  14. Well he’s 3 over after only 2 holes today....so not looking good
  15. I’m saying the cut will be +2 or maybe slide to +3 depending on the wind today. So does DJ and Rory picked up their games today to make the weekend?
  16. My favorite drill helps with seeing your alignment and keeping your stroke online. this is not me in the photo, it’s a product you can buy....I took some old alignment sticks and cut them short and bought some heavy colored twine and made my own. it helps you see your alignment and helps you to start the ball online....it works really well if you have a sharpie line on the ball.
  17. Yep my buddy bought a full set, I just went with him for the experience but the fitter gave me a full fitting too...probably because my buddy bought a full set including staff bag....he played with those clubs (except the putter) that afternoon
  18. Sounds like the stop there was worth the trip all by itself. My buddy and I did a TM fitting several years ago at the TM lab at Redstone in Houston (former home of Shell Houston Open) the put you in a jacket with sensors all over it and it did like a video game person of you on the computer and tracked all of the data from your swing. After the fitting the TM rep took us out to play the tournament course since he didn’t have any more appointments...he said if he took clients then he got to play free..lol
  19. The AGERA intrigues me...it’s definitely “Spideresque”
