  1. Can you be an old fart and a geek? Sure you can! 61 and been in IT since ‘83, in a field I never wanted to go into. Go figure, right? Went from being a phone support guy to a programmer to a systems admin, all on the Unix side (and most flavors there of). Then into capacity planning. Now I’m a cloud guy working for a large telco (can you hear me now?) Cloud architect on the Oracle cloud. I write policies that determines who can access what resources within the cloud and how resources are laid out within the cloud. It’s been fun to jump into a new field of the ever changing IT world [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  3. When we were newlyweds I did laundry. Threw 4 Angora sweaters in the dryer. When they came out they were sized for 3yr olds. I’ve never been allowed in the laundry room since. That was 36 years ago. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy

  8. Amazon one day sale on Callaway clubs. Picked up a 2017 GBB and a GBB 5wood for $322 including tax. It’s not exactly what I was looking for but compared to the Taylormade R5 I’m swinging now. Good enough for now. By the time I outgrow the GBB, drivers will be 20 yards longer! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  9. Hope you don’t mind if I chime in DD? Dick’s is having a sale on their Tommy Armour clubs. Driver is $199, $100 off. Irons are 50% off, $300. Hybrids are $50 off, down to $129. AND, although it’s not advertised on the website, in the store there’s a deal. Buy a driver and get a fairway wood or hybrid free. Perfect deal for my. My son-in-law broke his driver. I told him I’d buy him a replacement for Christmas. Now I can add a hybrid on top of that [emoji16] https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/tommy-armour-ta1-driver-17av3mtmmyrmrt1drdrv/17av3mtmmyrmrt1drdrv?recid=Product_PageElement_product_rr_1_8600_&rrec=true Cheers! 12. If the car you settle on is new then you're coming up on a great time to buy. The week before Thanksgiving is dead at car dealerships. They'll beg you to come in. I bought a new 28k car for 18k. Might work at a used car dealership but I have not tried. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Very smart idea, you've been collecting swing data for years and now you have enough data to mine it with a pretty good degree of accuracy. I like it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. A blonde lady motorist was about two hours from San Diego when she was flagged down by a man whose truck had broken down. The man walked up to the car and asked, "Are you going to San Diego?" "Sure," answered the blonde, "do you need a lift?" "Not for me. I'll be spending the next three hours fixing my truck. My problem is I've got two chimpanzees in the back that have to be taken to the San Diego Zoo. They're a bit stressed already so I don't want to keep them on the road all day. Could you possibly take them to the zoo for me? I'll give you $100 for your trouble." "I'd be happy to," said the blonde . So the two chimpanzees were ushered into the back seat of the blonde's car and carefully strapped into their seat belts, and off they went. Five hours later, the truck driver was driving through the heart of San Diego when suddenly he was horrified! There was the blonde walking down the street, holding hands with the two chimps, much to the amusement of a big crowd. With a screech of brakes he pulled off the road and ran over to the blonde. "What are you doing here?" he demanded, "I gave you $100 to take these chimpanzees to the zoo!" "Yes, I know you did," said the blonde. "But we had money left over so now we're going to Sea World." 15. >> I highly recommend a grill mat. Used a grill mat for the first time today and I'm impressed. Messy burgers that would have flared up, didn't. Clean up was quick and easy as well. I give it a thumbs up! [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Yum yum, that looks good Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. “Highly recommend a sous vide wand for thick cuts. Cooks to perfection, finish on the bbq or cast iron.” I'm starting to become a believer of sous vide as well. My son-in-law bought one and he's turned out some really good meats. He follows your prescription above. [emoji106] I will say I thought it was a a little ridiculous he had to cook a roast for 2 days, until I tasted it. No more back talking from me! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. You didn't say if you're cooking on gas or charcoal, makes a difference. Overcooked and chewy sounds like thin chops. For a gas grill, get it hot then turn it all the way down. Spray the grill with your favorite non-stick substance and throw on the chops. When you start to see juices coming through, flip'em. On the flip side, when you see clear juices, pull them off. Works for me. Seasoning? Lots of seasoned salt. Most of it will fall off during cooking. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Yep, the G10 is the same unit as a S10, just a different case. Plaid, like that contraption you have it hooked up to [emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I have a S10, purchased this spring. I don't have many rounds with it yet but it's already caused me to leave my laser at the house. The S10 isn't pretty, finding yardage to hazards is a bit of a pain and can be confusing. Even though I'd love to have one of those fancy color Garmin watches, I cannot bring myself to spend that much money. Maybe someday. The S10 gives me front-middle-back yardage on the greens. Good enough for me. Plain ol' black and white screen that shows up well in daylight and a long battery life. I don't want to receive texts or emails so those battery eating features are lost on me. Bottom line, it does the basics well and doesn't cost a bunch. You can find it for $99 just about everywhere. I bought mine at Dicks and used a $20 off coupon. BTW, the S20 is the same unit but the case is different so you can wear it as a watch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Looked good until I saw the $9 shipping charge [emoji22] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
