  1. Maybe post it on the Cameron collectors website and ask the experts.
  2. Pass for sure. But to each his own.
  3. go look at the Snell Get Sum balls. nice performance and great pricing. Just order from the Snell website
  4. I've had 3 of the hybrids for several months and they are the real deal. I'm testing the CB irons right now and they are really good also with great turf interaction. So high praise from me. Great company to deal with and being able to talk to the owner on the phone, etc is awesome. Excellent customer service.
  5. I've got a Boomerang putting thing with the mat that goes with it. LMK if you'd be interested. The putting matt rolls nicely and you can just iron it if it gets wrinkles or creases in it. Pretty good overall for putter training and is fun to use. Not as easy as it looks.
  6. Not to rub it in or anything, but I'm glad I moved from Minneapolis to Tampa Bay area around 5 years ago. Lots I miss about Minneapolis but not the 6+ months of winter. I remember one of the winters we were up there, I had to have the driveway plowed 2 times in May. That's just nutzzz.
  7. a bunch of years ago during a chipping lesson, back when I was using a 7 iron to chip, the pro said to lift the heal of the iron up slightly away from the ground which will deaden the shot and they won't roll out so far. Since I'm strictly using 58* to chip now I haven't tried that recently but will do so when practicing next time.
  8. I went to True Spec for my iron fitting earlier this year. I've also been to Club Champion for a putter fitting. Both were good experiences. Thing about True Spec is that you hit in a bay that is open to the driving range so you can not only get Trackman numbers but see the ball flight, etc. (From what I know of Club Champion it's all inside fittings.) Also I was able to hit the irons off of grass there after we'd narrowed down the choices. Now downside is that they aren't cheap if you buy clubs from them but they do have some negotiating room in the prices. The putter fitting at Club Champion was great and I'd highly recommend them.
  9. I learned to play the 7 iron bump and run growing up (bunch of years ago) but I got away from that and moved to using a gap wedge. During a series of lessons, I did 2 full lessons on chipping and my teacher changed me to my 58* vokey. I'm sticking with it, my short game has improved tremendously and index dropped substantially. I've tried to hit a few practice chips with 7 iron and it just isn't any good for me any longer. I think you need to pick 1 club and stick with it and don't try to get too fancy.
  10. bring your current irons with you to the fitting and hit the on trackman or whatever they are using first to get a baseline. Talk with the fitter about reshafting your current irons vs the T300s and get the pros and cons and price difference. I'd assume you can sell or trade-in your SIM max irons for a decent amount. Also don't be stuck on the T300s either. let the fitter work with you on some different irons (T200s since it's a Titleist fitting) and shaft combos and figure out what is best for you. Have fun during the fitting and hopefully you'll learn a lot about your swing, etc.
  11. My swing speed is slower than yours but I was fit into and play S flex shafts. Not sure SS is the only thing to consider. If you have a teacher you're using, get them to help with the decision. Don't just guess at it. If you have the ability to get a couple of demo irons, hit them outside and see which you prefer.
  12. as a note, there is a big thread on this in the club tech forum at wrx. Not trying to push you to a different golf forum but lots of good info in that thread from people who have made the change to these grips. I just read it yesterday and it opened up my thinking to the possibility of these grips. I have a buddy who has them on his irons, so I'm going to make a point to hit them some tomorrow and see how they feel.
  13. just a suggestion, don't change ball and driver at the same time. keep the consistency of the ball for trying out the new driver. just don't add too many variables.
  14. I definitely play better on nicer courses. I really don't want to play on a goat track anymore. To me it's just a waste of time and money.
  15. For me it's all the rounds I played with my Dad. He's long gone now but looking back, I wish I'd have played more with him. Unfortunately my kids when they were younger had no interest in the game so didn't get to share that with them. Last year, I holed out for eagle on a par 4 in an interclub championship, that I wasn't even signed up for, but filled in for somebody that couldn't make it. Won the match.
  16. I'm going with the 300 yard drives. I've played in a shamble format several times with long hitter(s) and my game is so different playing from closer in on the holes. Definitely scored better. 40,50 60 yards longer than me makes a huge difference.
  17. It sounds like a great deal. Why not go for it and try thru 2021? Since there's no upfront initiation fee, if you decide it's not for you after the rest of this year and next, you can always do something different. I really enjoy belong to a club, if I didn't there's no way I'd play as much golf as I do now.
  18. that sounds like a good deal. bag storage seems really steep, our is around $100 but we have a pretty crappy bag storage area so I don't use it much, usually keep my clubs at the house. My wife likes hers at the club. We also have an annual locker fee if you want one but it's not required. We have 2 courses and one requires cart usage due to some holes having a long distance between the green and the next tee box. It would take way too long to walk between them. The other course you are allowed to walk and either carry or use a push cart. Our cart cost per round is around $24 or you can do an annual cart plan which is great if you play enough, just have to work out the math on that one. When we bring guests, we can either put them on our account or the guest can just pay theirs at the proshop before the round. The grill will take payment directly also if you don't want to run up a big monthly bill. Overall we found it's a great way to meet people and make new friends. We participate in quite a bit of the social events at the club also.
  19. agree, once a gimmie is given, the score is set at that point. anything afterwards doesn't matter.
  20. That'd be a good question to post to Dean Snell. (Snell Golf)
  21. I had mine done around 20 years ago and it was probably the best thing I've done. Quality of life improved by not having to worry about glasses or contacts. Golf vision improved as others have noted due to much better depth perception and distance vision. At first I had to wear sun glasses but a couple years later I adjusted to golfing without them. Only place I really have a problem on the golf course is in the bunkers, the sun reflecting off of the white sand is really tough. So goal is to stay out of the traps. One thing I've heard of some people doing is having one eye set up for close vision and one for distance. That would really be bad for golf since depth perception will be off. Overall it's worth it for sure, just get a great surgeon and get it done.
  22. for me I hit my PW as a full swing club so I want it to match my irons and same for my gap wedge Sand and lob are specialty wedges for me.
