  1. Well, the putter continued to just miss the cup and my chipping is still a weakness that I need to work on. Iron play was better today than yesterday. I carded an 81.
  2. Anymore, I'm always standing too close to the ball ..... after I hit it!
  3. Yesterday, I struggled. Shot an 84, but it felt more like a 94. I was flat awful with my wedge and I missed so many short putts that I would normally make. Couple that with pulled short iron shots that I kept hitting and it made for a long day. Hopefully, I'll get back on track today. Best shot of the day was 142 yard 8 iron that hit 3 inches to the right of the hole and spun a bit left to end up 1 inch below the hole....THAT putt I made!!!
  4. I stunk today! Burned so many edges that I lost count. Couple of bad bounces led to trouble on a few holes. Just one of those meh days on the links. Shot a lackluster 85 as I just couldn't make a putt or turn things around.
  5. We expect to see your handicap dropping incrementally in the next few months.
  6. 38/38 for a sweet little 76. Ball striking was solid for the most part. Putting was good. Left a couple of birdies out there, but overall felt good about my game today.
  7. 41-37 for a 78 today. My chipping was so bad that my teammates were begging me to hit the green in regulation, just so they didn't have to watch. 2 doubles were negated by 4 birdies.
  8. 83, mostly due to less than stellar chipping and putting.
  9. Another lackluster performance on the links. Shot an 84 that really felt more like a 90. Struggled with my wedges on the soft, recently sanded turf. Lots of leaves and debris on the ground, including the green. Any shot not dead in the middle of the fairway was hard to locate amongst the shiny leaves. Shot of the day was a mediocre bunker shot that caught the collar and rolled forward, ticked a leaf redirecting the ball 1/2 inch or so into the hole for a birdie. I'll be thankful when the final leaves have fallen and the maintenance crew clears them. Too much work looking for golf balls (and not just my own!).
  10. 2-3 club cold wind, leaves blowing all over the green, slow round due to everyone having to search for their balls in the leaves and I couldn't get it together. I think I had 4 or 5 double bogeys. Just couldn't focus on playing, I guess. Anyway, ended up shooting a disappointing 88. Only highlight on the round was a birdie on the #2 handicap hole. Go figure!
  11. No kidding! I grew up in Florida and spent most of my adult life in the southeast where heat and humidity were typical. I didn't realize how bad it was until I finally moved out west and found out about low humidity! Even though it was 100 in Colorado, I was playing golf and not sweating like a stuck pig like I would have been in the same temperature in Charleston, SC with humidity above 95%! I sure don't miss that humidity!
  12. you're close. Taking the coach into Premier RV for maintenance and some minor repairs.
  13. Pretty sure you already know the answer to that question .... stepping onto the tee box cold isn't your best way to start a round.
  14. No, have to go to Junction City for other reasons and my buddy and I will "have" to stop into Fiddler's, well, just because! Actually, I'm due to replace my wedges soon and want to try out a couple of them while I'm there. Thinking about taking a look at the CBX2 wedges.
  15. I'll be at Fiddler's next Monday afternoon, as it happens.
  16. SUMMER as in some are good, some are bad.
  17. I don't, but if I wanted to buy some, they'd be at the retail cost of $47.99. Actually, I could drive 3 hours to Fiddler's Green and get them for maybe $5/dozen cheaper.
  18. I prefer using a laser rangefinder over any GPS unit. I carry mine with me and use it any shot where I can feasibly hit the green or layup to a specific area. I happen to use a Bushnell rangefinder.
  19. Frost delay today was until 10:40. Yesterday was similar.
  20. Rolled a few putts today. Cold wind blowing and just wasn't conducive to productive practice. Went to the 19th hole, instead.
  21. Winter's creeping into southern Oregon. 30 degrees this morning. Yep, winter's coming.
  22. Today was beautiful in southern Oregon with temperatures in the mid to upper 70's .... not true for tomorrow, however, as temperatures will drop significantly with a high in the 50s for awhile.
