  1. Seriously though, I totally relate to that experience. You said it in a lot less words than I did lol
  2. This could expand from more than just equipment/accessory etc. testing though. Even a simple note in the articles along the lines of "If you would like to discuss this article and more, join us in the forum (Link) etc." Would drive more traffic here. I think it would be a reasonable suggestion to HQ to point more people to the forum considering the increase in involvement from HQ. If we are an important enough element of MGS for HQ to increase their involvement i.e. testing, then we should be considered important enough to drive traffic to. Also, using myself as an example, I do not use any social media so participating in a forum as I have for the past almost 2.5 years was not something that I naturally jumped into. And while I may be in a very small minority (Especially within my age group) in regards to social media, I do think that a lot of people might not visit a site and wonder about if that site has a forum to interact with. MGS Forum is a hidden gem. Also, this isn't a knock on HQ or anything. Just a humble suggestion about my opinion on how to work with HQ to grow the forum.
  3. I remember watching a video by TXG that also mentions the optimum numbers fitting within a window namely by peak height. I will look for the video (It was a fitting video I believe) and let you know when I find it.
  4. I believe some good numbers for backspin and decent should be around 5-6k spin and 40*-50* decent angle. That being said, these are likely very rough numbers and I may be wrong but I am sure some of the other spys will be able to give you a more in depth answer.
  5. After I read this I immediately went back to watch Adventures in Golf lol Definitely a bucket list course.
  6. I watched this guest video from Genevieve Ling on GolfSidekicks youtube channel and it made me think about keeping better stats for myself. I own a ShotScope V2 so that helps but what about the stats kept on the scorecard? This video made me think more about what additional stats I should keep. What stats do you keep and what do you think are the most useful stats for amateur to keep?
  7. This right here, I would love to see more links to the forum from HQ articles. This would certainly drive more traffic to the forum which I think would also help retain traffic on HQ articles. HQ puts out articles that have a limited amount of interaction, if more traffic was directed from HQ then we would most likely see more "Hi, long term lurker and this is my first post" posts. Thus adding to the community here. Maybe my above point could be something brought up to the next conversation with HQ?
  8. I don't think its plantar, that's usually heel pain. This is under the ball of my foot, specifically under the 2nd and 3rd toe knuckles. Those two are the ones that are really swollen, I am hoping that its not a stress fracture but I most likely will be going to my podiatrist... Mostly because SWMBO is "gently" reminding me lol I have known that I have flat feet since high school, that was the first time I really had any foot problems. I remember that first time it hit me, felt like my feet were being torn apart right across the arch. Once I met my Wife she really got me into trying to take care of my feet more, when I met her she worked in a podiatrist office as a physicians assistant. My feet only act up once in a blue moon nowadays, but when they do whoo boy I can't hardly walk. Foot pain is rough.
  9. Been having a lot of foot issues lately, I am pretty much out of commission since its pretty hard to walk. Started with my right foot but that quickly got better, but then my left foot started hurting real bad. Its the ball of my left foot, its painful to out pressure on it and even more so to take pressure off of it. now its swelling too ugh Motrin and Tylenol +ice aren't really making a dent in the pain. Might have to go back to the podiatrist...
  10. Well as they say, there are 3 sides to every story. From my perspective, my playing partner was enjoying our business relationship quite a bit more than I was... I feel so violated. But I am willing to forgive. That being said, after the "feeling up" as you say... My putts seemed like they rolled over... Something ... I didn't see anything at the time now I guess I know what that was
  11. I didn't realize that you swung both ways I swear I checked and there was nothing there haha I think I need to come clean with my Wife... "Honey, I swear! he meant nothing to me! Its just a business relationship!"
  12. While you may not be able to pit a putter grip on it, there isn't much difference diameter-wise to a JumboMax non-taper grip compared to say a SuperStroke grip. JumboMax non-taper goes from 1.18" to 1.06" DIA Superstroke says its Tour 1.0 is 1" DIA and 2.0 is 1.17" DIA
  13. This is more of a little funny story about how I learned to swim. My family would go camping every year and the campground had a lake, well one day my Dad surprised me and told me that he wants to take me out on the lake. I was excited to spend some time with my Dad so I rushed over the boat to get in. We got to talking about swimming and how I don't know how to swim. So as we are a little ways away from shore, my Dad decided to toss me out! Well I don't know what clicked that day but I was able to swim to shore. My Dad decided to take me out again, I was so happy that I was finally able to swim and my Dad took me out a little further this time and splash! Again I was out of the boat and swam to shore, I guess he really wanted me to practice and get better. Well, then we went out again and this time he went all the way to the middle of the lake, as far from shore as possible and of course I got tossed out again. I still love swimming to this day, and I am pretty good at it. All thanks to my Dad, the swimming from that day was pretty easy once I got it... It was getting out of the burlap sack that was the hard part.
  14. So on Friday night, My Wife took my First Born (8yo daughter) to her first concert. They went to see Kidz Bop at Pine Knob. So we left our 2.5yo daughter with MIL and I drove them there, so I decided to take the opportunity to get out for a round. So I found a course just a few miles up the road so I had just enough time to sneak in 9 holes before having to go pick them up. Course was called Fountains Golf and Banquet, I will post more about this on How'd you play soon. My hole of the day was hole 3, its an ~320yd par 4 from Blue. I haven't been very confident in my driving for quite some time and my Superdeep TP is not the most forgiving, but the hole is pretty much wide open so I figured why not have a crack at it. It was during my practice swings that I noticed something that I was doing that I had never felt before. I was really feeling tucking my elbow into my side/trail hip on the downswing and I am not sure if its my practice with keeping my wrist straight and fully rotating thru but it felt like I was swinging it faster than normal. (Really need to get to a sim for knowing my distances etc. ... coming soon) Onto how the hole worked out, set myself down the center expecting anything but, also I moved the ball ever so slightly forward to my lead heel-ish to promote positive attack angle). Well, I nailed one maybe 5yds offline baby fade (most likely to straight wrist/face control and tucking the elbow for in to out path as that's not my normal shot at all) to the right rough maybe 5yds short. Dumbfounded and still playing two balls at that point, I think its a fluke. So I set up the same way, whooped er down the fairway straight as an arrow right next to my first ball 5yds short but just in the fairway. I s**t enough bricks to build an outhouse right then and there, because I had never drove the ball so well. To shorten up an already far too long story about a single hole lol. I drove up to my balls and just stood there to enjoy the moment. Took out my 60*, chipped the first to about 4ft, chipped the second to about 4.5ft and drained both for bird. Enjoy the moment.
  15. I have been thinking (Ironically lmao) about not thinking so much and what it can do considering my mental game/course strategy are pretty lacking. In high school my best score was I believe 76, I was number one or two on the team and I was paired with guys that were ranked lower on their teams so I didn't stress as much, and I really don't remember much about that day except when one of the other guys dads was near the green and I pitched to about 5ft and dropped for birdie and the dad told me great job, next thing I remember was getting a little medal at the end lol I must have been really clear headed as its all just a complete blank haha I really need to get that clear headedness back and see how I shoot.
  16. I'm only 30 years old and while I got most of the references here... I think I have aged ~30 more years reading all these
  17. I have to say, I really liked the comparison image between your RAZR X MBs and the TS-1s in the other thread and it was really enlightening to me. I thought the TS-1s were bigger/chunckier than that. If I wasn't waiting for the TS3/4s to come out (Will most likely get one of each and compare to my R7TPs) I would be seriously considering these.
  18. dang it! Now I have a new site I have to stalk haha
  19. Oh nice, I'm in Southgate so not far at all. If you're ever up for a round, don't hesitate to reach out. And your comments didn't come across wrong on my end, just some words of encouragement that the site is still a pretty great place lol
  20. Hey Mike, as a fellow Michigander I am glad to have you back on. Whereabouts are you from? and I will say as only being on this site for a couple years now, I agree with @TR1PTIK that this is not representative of the site. Occasionally some people/threads get snippy/snarky/etc and my MO is to typically (obligatory not perfect here lol) not add to it. But on the whole the community of patrons of this site still stand out to me in the wonderfully terrible thing that is the internet. P.S. I hope you enjoy your time back at MGS
  21. I am now regretting some of my earlier choices of going barefoot...
