Older picture now, but I currently am gaming Maltby PTMs, 5-GW, with KBS C-Taper Lite 110 shafts and red Star Sidewinder grips!

I love me some Maltby! I built my DBM's a few years ago and only laid them down when I got the Bridgestones. However, I'm still gaming the 4 and 5 hybrids.

I'm no olympian but I've found personal success with routines that involve lots of reps of different exercises. I like to keep it moving and come back to different exercises. A few sets of exercise A, then move on to B. Then back to A, etc.  If I stick with one for too long I lose focus. The real trick somedays is just getting started.

I voted for Callaway smoke ai, but I think PXG flies a little under the radar. I've bought some of their clubs on sale and love them. I'm not one to buy clubs brand new usually, but if Cobra could come back to a lower price point I think their drivers would (relatively) fly off the shelves. I was thinking they were like $300 new at one point.

I think people also overlook COBRA pretty heavily regardless, on the preview article for the darkspeed posted earlier this week on the main site the guy was saying everyone should put a COBRA driver in their options if you do a fitting because they are usually good drivers. And it was just last year MGS had the AEROJET as the runner up for best driver so it's not like they aren't making great products, it's just not going to get the same coverage and hype as the TM/Titleist/Callaway since those brands pay more money to PGA pros and youtubers and their content and marketing game is next level. I was rocking the COBRA F9 Speedback for like 6 years and I honestly miss it compared to my new Callaway

I very much agree with this! Cobra seems to care about head speed, ball speed, and distance. This has been the case since the LTDX(my opinion) The LTDX was a highly rated driver that i could not hit to save my life. I got a G425 and driver became a friendly club again. I think it fits certain people as does any club.
Have a buddy I play with often that picked up an Aerojet and LOVES it. But his mishits are not pretty compared to mine

My dad had one of these when I was first getting into golf(about 10 yrs ago). It is still the coolest looking putter in my opinion. He switched to a Odyssey 3 ball... guess he likes being outside the box LOL. But I still have the big bertha putter and it reminds me of the early days of getting into golf for me. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been itching to try the Fujikura Motore X F3 shaft in my G400 Max driver. I went out on eBay and bought a used shaft with a Cobra adapter ($60) and an adapter ($12) for the G400 Max. I will hit up Golf Galaxy for a grip and look to putting it all together. I will have to find a place to get the old Cobra adapter pulled as I don’t have the tools for that job.

I got a steal on some Titleist 690 CB forged irons. Maybe from the early 2000s?  Absolutely beautiful and feel amazing. I 100% believe they play as good as the current titleist forged CB model for $1200. 4-PW stiff for $120 shipped!  Got them as a back up set to my New Level 623s, but they are fighting for the starting spot!

@sirchunksalot  The only downside to me shopping at Ross or TJ Maxx is that most of the clothing doesn't come in my body type, lol.  Supposedly the tight shirt/skinny pants look is about over, but you'd never know it shopping there.  The oversized/baggy look that I grew up in is a fat man's dream! 😂

The most underrated and underappreciated irons, bar none.
I think you're going to really like these for a long long time. Congrats!

Well, I went to a fitting for Srixon.  I am in love with their irons.  While I couldn't be drug away from any of my Titleist woods or driver, I did switch out my ZX5 for the new MKII ZX5/ZX7 combo set.  5 and 6 in the ZX5 and 7-PW in the ZX7.  Measurements were taken on Trackman and we were on an outdoor range.
For shafts, I tested the Nippon Modus 120, DG X100 (my current gamer) and the Project X LZ 6.5.  Clubhead speed with 7 iron was between 94 and 98.  Launch angles were within 2* of one another on all shafts.  But spin, height and carry all told the story.
DG was the highest spin (400 higher than LZ and 600 higher than Modus).  It was also the lowest launching and lowest overall peak height.  The Modus had the highest launch angles and LZ was barely below it.  Descent was the best with LZ, so it matched my angle of attach which was -4.7.  The Modus wanted to constantly go left (felt very weak).  The LZ was very easy to control and I felt the head all through the swing.  I could also hit my straight to fade with it just like my DG.   It also provided a lot more feel and "kick" when snapping back into the ball. So the LZ 6.5 was the best performer for me.
The new ZX5 head felt firmer than my old ones and they had more of a muted clicky sound to them.  The ZX7 felt like my old MP14's back in the day. They had a tremendous feel and caught one slightly heavy and only lost 4 yards. Love the reduced offset look and topline of the MKII over my older ZX5.  I am very excited. to see how my first tourney goes with them.  Difference in distance between the ZX7 and ZX5 was 4 yards.  So I had them strengthen the loft of the 7-PW 1* so my distances will stay the exact same as my ZX5's.  I have my long clubs and wedges set up for these yardages.

I worked on my balance and posture! I struggle with often taking what I call a "power lifting" stance sometimes at address.... often leaning over toward the ball and getting the weight on my toes.  When this happens I end up choking down because my clubs can feel too long and things tend to get out of sorts...
It was amazing to me to see how difficult it could be breaking the above habit I established. As always- work to be done!
