In honor of Cobra Golf's 50th Anniversary the MyGolfSpy forum team is proud present a Member Special unlike any other!

We are looking for 6 (yes, six) testers to provide full bag (14 clubs, plus the bag!) reviews over the course of a six week team based competition.

Competitors will be put into two teams and put their new Cobra gear up to the test in several unique challenges which will focus on different aspects of the bag while also reviewing that club for forum members.  But fear not, even those of us not directly in the competition will have a chance to throw down and challenge out fearless competitors during weekly events for a chance to win swag too!

*****

To top it off, the forum member with the best participation as voted on by the moderator team will be taking home a Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Aerojet Driver!

It is so awesome Cobra is doing this again. They have been great to the forum and am ECSTATIC to get some summer fun going again! 2020 was so awesome for this event, some of the most fun golfing I have ever had.

Cobra’s involvement with the forum and the past challenges is one of the things I look forward to every summer.

Still very surprised by the low sign-ups (especially in comparison of the Paradym and Edel tests) - I'm guessing the required playing commitments might shy away some people. 🤷‍♂️

Counting down the days until the announcement...

usually they post about it so new members sign up for the forum but maybe this one they are keeping it a bit more hush hush to thin the heard for this opportunity?

just a theory

Definitely think that plays a large role in it, as it is a big commitment not just with the amount of time expected on the range and playing in the weekly competitions, but also the write ups of every part of the bag. I think it also shows some real levelheadedness from a good chunk of the forum who NO DOUBT want to participate, but are able to show the respective restraint of not signing up knowing they wouldn't be able to dedicate enough time to it. I respect the heck out of the people that can make that kind of decision.

How many rounds per week are required and can they be split up into 9 hole rounds on the weekdays?

I could have missed it but will Arccos need to be utilized to log everything like in years past?

Arccos is not part of it this year as Cobra has ended it's official relationship with them.

The time commitment aspect is spot on the number 1 reason.  Anyone who has been a member here for any of the first 4 Cobra Connects could easily see and tell the amount of time the particiapnts spent on the challenges and the reviews.  CC5 was pretty much cut to a mini review due to the supply chain havoc that all companies experienced.

Also as for social on the main page, we're not sure yet if it'll get shared, but if it does, you can expect the usual influx of applications with one post, whch will be followed a week later with their 2nd post complaining they didnt get picked 🙂

Heard - can def appreciate the time commitment (both on the course & in this community) and recognize the importance of both for this (and future) tests!

Looking forward to this summer!!!

Wow! This is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever heard of. Golf a lot from May thru July! Check and most definitely. I’m sure I won’t be picked becuse I’m a newer member and haven’t posted a lot. But this would be mind blowing! And I’ll be at my place in Grayling MI for two week around the4th of July. So their will be a decent amount of nice. Courses played! I’m excited. And so happy for WHOEVER gets picked in this… Everyone cross ur fingers n toe. Good luck all!

During my weekly (😂) visit to PGASS, I hit a couple Cobra putters since they’ve been top of mind recently.

Came away VERY impressed with the 3d printed putters (hello Supernova and Grandsport) - great stuff!!!

I feel the putters are fairly under rated. I currently game the supernova and it has been a dream for me. I work a lot with 3D printed and so the lattice structure is something I always will find myself admiring. In terms of performance my putting has improved tremendously. I came from a Stroke Lab 7s for reference.

Great to hear that - really loved the feel coming off the face of both putters (and I’m usually not an insert fan).

Check out this and the FAQ as it will help you learn more about the process and everything else which goes into our testing selections. This is something we are very open and honest about as Forum Staff. We make our selections on a variety of criteria and actively try and get new testers involved.

Even just look at this season in the over the 5 testes we have 15 brand new testers!

Also if you have questions just ask!

We don't bite... unlike those cobra wedges 😉

Thanks for the reminders! I wish some previous places of work had the level of transparency I've seen here...

This is a great opportunity. I'm new to the forum and took me a week to figure out how to resize a profile pic just so I could upload it SMH. I will be able to play 3 times a week throughout the summer to do a thorough review. I also practice daily in my yard so I will be able to give them a fair and honest review. I would be comparing them to Mizuno Jpx Hmps. Thank you for the opportunity!

I currently use the Cobra Agera.  I attached a few photos for fun. It took some time to get used to the 3d print sound and feel, but I really enjoy it.  I've had better results since I put in in the bag.  The SIK face with descending loft is helpful as well. I feel like even if my strike isn't perfect, I can still get a consistent roll.  That has helped me a lot on longer putts just lagging it up.

That sure is a gorgeous color. I thought about picking up the Volition Edition Agera however it is just a bit too oversized for me. I would attach pictures of my personal one however it is currently 1100 Miles away.

I also totally agree with your assessment, the SIK face is something that I feel has helped me greatly. Maybe it is placebo or just the Cobra fanboy in me though. Also does your putter have the CT Tour Shaft or the stepped one that came out later with Cobra putters?

I appears to be the KBS 120 stepped.
