MidMoMan
One of the guy's I was playing with yesterday was this close to a hole in 1, somehow it hopped forward about an inch instead of coming back into the hole...he's never had a hole in 1. pughdog
Woah! I bet that took some repairing too. It doesn't get much closer than that. <_> "The more I practice the luckier I get" - Gary Player R1, Matrix Black Tie 7M3 S flex RBZ, 14.5, Matrix Black Tie 7M3 S flex R11 17 & 22 Rescues, Motore F3 S flex Rocketbladez Tour irons, 5 - PW, ATV 50,54,Tour preferred 58 wedges Daddy Long Legs 33-35" Tour Preferred X

Tyk
Looks to me like it just clipped the back edge of the cup, which may have bounced it out of the ball mark! MidMoMan
Yes - that's what we think is it hit the cup edge and moved it forward. We didn't hit the flag so it had to just go forward. It finished only a few balls away from the hole. (yes we gave him the putt)

In all my years of play I've never managed a 'slam dunk'. One day....... JBones
My wife did this last year. I have never made a hole in one, but I've been within 6" about 100 times; I have faith that it will happen one day. I was playing with one of my friends and saw the most unbelievable hole in one ever, I would have never believed it, if I hadn't witnessed it. It was a 180yd par 3 and he bladed the heck out of a 4I. The ball hit right where the flag attaches to the pole and it caused the flag to spin, wrapping up the ball. When it stopped spinning the ball dropped straight down into the hole. I don't know that I will ever see something that amazing again; although I was playing with some random guy at the par 3 and he hit 3 hole in ones in a row, it was his 57th, 58th, and 59th hole in ones, all on par 3 courses. jamo
No lie, once at a par 3 course I did that on back to back holes. Both times it rolled out rather than staying in the hole. I was so pissed, but back to back birdies isn't all that bad. Still no holes in one for me, those two were the closest I have ever come
MidMoMan
Ummm - OK I was fine with the flag story to odd to make up. But, cmon, 3 in a row!? Where were you miniture golf? Even still...
Tyk
I've actually seen the flag wrap a ball up and drop it in the cup like JBones is describing, not for a hole in one though, it was a bladed wedge for par, and it cost me money when it dropped! 3 aces in a row? What were you doing playing with Kim Jong Il? JBones
Honestly 3 in a row. He was one of those older guys that hits everything right on target, as long as it's under 100yds. It was on holes 5 (74yds), 6 (85yds from front tees), and 7 (58yds). These are the only 3 holes under 120yds and the only greens he hit.
