Bizzteacher
Can anyone suggest how I can get a sponsor/coach for my son? I recently lost my job and can't afford to pay for a coach/teacher but don't want to have my son lose out. We live in Gilbert, AZ (Phoenix) and would appreciate any help. mrsmith123
Sorry to hear about your job loss, pray you get a new one that's even better ðŸ‘. Anyway, one thing you can always keep in mind is that at a public facility he could at least use the short game area for free. As far as someone who is willing to give your son some time for free right now, you might have to inquire with a local PGA professional to see what they think. Maybe someone on here might ha e more insight, good luck. Sent from my Sprint LG G5 mobile device
Jmikecpa
Very sorry to hear about the job loss. For instruction is there a First Tee chapter near you? That would be a great place to have your son involved. My son spent a few years when we were living near Philly with the First Tee and it was a very positive experience. WillieStoutJr
I lost my job and was forced to disable retire from law enforcement. My son was in the same boat, so I worked out a deal with our golf course owner to do odd jobs for him. Clean the clubhouse every week, sometimes now the greens, pick up trash from the c ourse, things like that. His generosity allowed my son to play for free. As far as teaching....a couple of guys at our club has taken up with him and enjoyed watching him improve, so they took him and became his defacto teacher. So far it worked out, we still have our deal and they still help him with his game. Last season he was able to play the with the varsity team while in the 6th grade. So....so far so good.
