Jvgolfcoach
I was at the driving range and was hitting my4 iron and the head flew off. So I took it to Dick's sporting goods (only store in my town that could fix it) I have cobra amp irons and they were one inch longer. Now my 4 iron is 3/4 to an inch shorter than my 5 iron. How will this affect my distance with my 4 iron? Have to wait until Monday to hit it so it can set. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Quote Link to comment

I am assuming that the iron is shorter because the shaft broke and not that the head just flew off. Essentially shorter shaft means less swing speed and shorter distance. Can't tell you exactly how much shorter. If the shaft broke, your best option is to buy a new shaft and make it the correct length. Jvgolfcoach
It broke at the hossel. There was a piece in the head of the club that looked like a weight or and extention. Sorry did not get a good picture of it. Quote Link to comment

Sorry did not get a good picture of it. Not an extension, probably a tip weight to tweak the swing weight. what I said above still applies, need a new shaft. Jvgolfcoach
cnosil you were correct I got it fixed then went to the range and it broke again. Good news is that I did not pay to have it fixed. Lesson learned! Quote Link to comment
